Meeting an old friend in a foreign land
Arthur walked forward in a daze, he had not forgotten his mission - "buy flowers".
However, there weren't any florists in the market; the goods were mostly daily necessities. Thinking back to the linen gloves the two men had suggested, it was no wonder these items were so trivial and full of the flavor of life.
Arthur suddenly felt very complicated. He always believed that seeing is believing.
There was no sign of this place being plagued by the fear of disaster. The territory was prosperous and wealthy, everyone lived and worked in peace and contentment, and everyone's needs were heard.
This reminded him of Margaret. Every day, a team would pick flowers for the ladies and put them in the most conspicuous places for sale.
Due to the lack of resources, civilians in the market can only simply exchange some food and tools.
Arthur had been wondering what kind of territory would be both resilient to disasters and able to protect its inhabitants. He had considered countless options, and today he suddenly had the answer.
"Brother Arthur? Why are you here?" A familiar voice suddenly came from behind.
Arthur turned around and saw a face that looked familiar, but he couldn't place its name. "You are..."
"It's me! Apu!" Apu said happily, "When I first arrived in the capital to study at university two years ago, I was unfamiliar with the place and was charged a high agency fee for renting an apartment. I almost got beaten up. You helped me!"
"Later, you said you'd protect me, but I moved and didn't live in that neighborhood. I wanted to say goodbye to you, but..." Apu scratched his head: "It was too hasty."
"It's you!" Arthur remembered everything after hearing this: "Why are you here? I didn't see you at Margaret's."
"My hometown is Anagno, which is San Marco. I came from there."
I see.
Arthur still remembers the poor boy who dressed in rustic clothes and spoke with an accent, and was out of place in the streets of the capital city that were full of luxury brands.
Now...
He was wearing a warm down jacket, with a scarf wrapped around his neck, and his cheeks were flushed with smile.
Not that careful-talking country boy anymore, Arthur thought.
"Brother Arthur, how long have you been here? Have you found a place to stay?"
Arthur actually didn't know why Margaret asked him to come here.
He secretly organized a rebellion, and Margaret exiled him, believing there was a mole in the organization. But now it seems... that's not the case.
Arthur didn't know where to start and just passed it over vaguely.
"Brother, are you cold dressed like this?" Apu asked worriedly, "It's a pity you can't buy down jackets, but you can only buy one scarf and hat. The lord said that the more clothes you wear in winter, the better. Brother, I..."
Arthur smiled as he looked at the worried young man in front of him. Now, their positions had been reversed, and it was Arthur's turn to be taken care of?
Arthur wasn't wearing top-quality fur, but it wasn't too thin. In Margaret's territory, he was better off than the lower-ranking nobles! If he was still cold, what about the rest of Margaret's family?
He thanked Apu and then asked about his original purpose: "Where can I buy flowers?"
Apu looked at him hesitantly, then thought about it and realized, "There's no one selling flowers in Hungry Hungry Territory. The apocalypse has arrived, and everyone is very practical. Flowers...if you need them, you can only find them in the forest yourself."
The hungry people wished that their gardens were full of onions and garlic. Apu didn't say the second half of the sentence.
Although Arthur couldn't hear what Apu was thinking, just by listening to the conversation between the two people, he could roughly guess how much hungry people value practicality.
Arthur found himself agreeing with such emphasis.
Compared to Margaret, this is the territory where residents actually live, and what they sell are the necessities for daily convenience.
This is the people's territory!
"Then..." An idea suddenly came to Arthur's mind. Then... Can he, his compatriots, Peeta and others also come here to live?
What they ask for is definitely not much. What they want from the beginning to the end is just the rights of being an ordinary person.
However, before Arthur could ask, Apu suddenly exclaimed in delight: "That's right!"
He quickly turned on the light screen, sent a series of messages, and then said in surprise: "I found the flowers for you!"
The two hurried to the forest entrance to wait for the person, who turned out to be Xu Ming. She loved flowers and often picked a bunch of flowers when she came across them while out cutting trees, either to display at home or to give as gifts.
It was a rare opportunity to meet Arthur, who also loved flowers, so Xu Ming generously gave him a whole bouquet of flowers.
Looking at the big bouquet of roses in Arthur's hand, Apu finally felt that his mission was successfully accomplished - Brother Arthur had helped him, and he always wanted to give something back.
"I'm going to give Sister Ming something later..." Apu murmured, then looked up and asked casually, "What do you want the flowers for?"
Arthur remembered the original mission: "Deliver it to your lord."
Apu: “?” This is a rose!
Suddenly, his eyes looked at Arthur sharply with some appreciation and ambiguity. You know, almost no one in the territory was in love, but it was all led by the lord!
From the lord to the staff, no one was in a relationship! Even the most experienced Hu Sanhan hadn't dared to break the ice with Li Mu. It was said that Li Mu was determined to emulate the lord and focus on his career. Hu Sanhan was afraid that his image would be exposed as "unprofessional".
It’s strange to say, the entire territory is influenced by an atmosphere of “If you don’t work hard today, you will starve to death tomorrow.” No wonder this is a hungry, hungry, hungry territory.
Arthur, who had been hanging out on the streets for years and interacting with all kinds of people, could tell at a glance what Apu was thinking. What the hell was going on? Arthur reluctantly put the rose away.
"It's just a greeting gift. Besides... I'm just a commoner. It's not my turn to give it to them."
What Arthur didn't know was that all of Arthur's words were recorded by the monitoring team members and transmitted synchronously to Ye Miaomiao and Fang Yan's light screens.
Ye Miaomiao didn't care about him. She was more concerned about Charles, who was pacing in the rental house at the moment, looking like he had something in mind.
Fang Yan stood up suddenly. Arthur's name contains the word "瑟", so it is very likely that he is that person!
However, Arthur immediately walked into Charles' room, handed the rose to him, and walked out empty-handed, without even planning to go with Charles, who was getting dressed to meet Ye Miaomiao.
He went to the market, bought a bag of fruit, and went to visit Apu's house for dinner.
Fang Yan looked at Charles, who was radiant and walking towards the lord's cottage with a rose in his hand.
King Arthur's real name wasn't Arthur. Could it be that this Arthur is just a coincidence? The real suspect is more like this Charles...
After a moment, Fang Yan made a conclusion.
At dusk on the 31st day, District 1 was particularly quiet. Long Guo Hai and San Marco had both left, and the new territory had not yet arrived.
The snow wasn't heavy yet, just a thin layer, but no one could predict what the weather would be like in a few days.
Ye Miaomiao planned to use the SSR card's "New Year's Goods Purchase 7" while Xue was still young.
She posted in the group: "Anyone who finds the fireworks within three minutes will receive 300 points, plus winter gear and restaurant coupons."
Suddenly, the tension of the impending disaster was swept away, and people in the entire territory became excited, vowing to take the lead.
