Ludo stared at Harry with wide eyes in horror.
That’s pretty much the “accusation.”
The house elf only obeys the orders of its master, and it appears with the Death Eaters and even rescues one of them...
So what does this sentence mean?
He turned his head and looked at Crouch.
"Mr. Potter, what do you mean?" There was no expression on Crouch's weather-beaten face. Almost instantly, he restrained his facial features, and asked back in a sharp tone with the same indifference as Harry, "I'm sorry for what happened to Mr. Black back then, but I hope..."
Back then, Sirius was sent to Azkaban by Crouch himself.
There was no interrogation phase.
From arrest, announcement to detention, everything was done in one go.
Sirius has no brains or mouth, so he has to take some responsibility if he doesn't tell the truth. Adults should be responsible for all their words and actions.
But who can say for sure, if the Ministry of Magic had been able to follow the most basic rules, Crouch would not have been so eager to send Sirius in, and according to the most basic rules, there would have been an interrogation process. Perhaps Sirius would have been unable to resist and told the truth.
Harry looked at him and said gently, "No, Mr. Crouch, if I want to take revenge on you, I won't do it by telling you about it."
"I am just stating a fact. As an eyewitness who has witnessed it, I am giving my testimony as someone who has a mouth to speak."
"Perhaps I am being abrupt and the Ministry has no tradition of hearing testimonies?"
Crouch's face changed slightly.
Ludo waved his hand and came over to smooth things over: "Mr. Potter, you shouldn't doubt Mr. Crouch. We trust him very much."
At this point, he paused and looked at Crouch: "Can I talk about this?"
Crouch nodded with difficulty, looking stern.
"Mr. Crouch is a role model for all officials in the Ministry of Magic." Ludo began, even with a bit of earnestness, "His son, Barty Crouch Jr., was once a Death Eater. He could have been exonerated."
"But Mr. Crouch did not do so. He adhered to his own righteous beliefs and personally imprisoned his son in Azkaban. Mr. Crouch did not even see Barty Crouch Jr. again before his death."
"He hates Death Eaters the most, it's impossible for him to have any entanglement with those guys."
Harry nodded slowly, "But that doesn't affect the fact that the house-elf belongs to Mr. Crouch."
Ludo's expression froze, and he smiled awkwardly: "Maybe you saw it wrong?"
"House-elf coins are easier to tell apart than leprechaun coins," Harry replied dryly.
Ludo shrank his head and stopped talking.
Crouch turned his head and saw Sirius, Lupin, and Arthur running towards them in a panic.
"Harry?" Sirius became even more anxious, especially because the crowd was so crowded that he couldn't see the person in the center clearly. He could only vaguely see someone lying on the ground. "Are you okay, Harry?"
He roughly pushed Crouch aside and squeezed in. Seeing his godson, he breathed a sigh of relief: "Thank God, Harry, you're okay."
"Uncle Arthur." Harry greeted the slightly bald man at the end cheerfully, "I've packed a Christmas gift for you in advance. Do you like it?"
Harry stepped on Lucius' chest.
He stifled two coughs.
Arthur was surprised, Lupin tried hard to control his expression, and Sirius was extremely surprised: "Malfoy! I knew this bastard!"
"Well done, Harry, this old thing should have been sent to Azkaban more than a decade ago."
Arthur didn't dare to say anything. He was not as unscrupulous as Sirius. He was just an ordinary office director and had to consider a lot of things. He just walked over, raised his hand and patted Harry's shoulder gently, expressing his joy implicitly, at least in his opinion, very implicitly.
"Mr. Black, maybe he is under the control of the Imperius Curse." Ludo kindly reminded, "And Mr. Malfoy is still your brother-in-law."
"The Imperius Curse could control him for thirteen years?" Sirius gritted his teeth, "He used this as an excuse to get away with it before."
As he spoke, he shook his fist fiercely: "I just remembered now why I didn't see him in Azkaban! How could he use that excuse to get away with it!"
Lupin tugged at his sleeve.
Sirius turned back.
"You don't have to say the last sentence," Lupin reminded him kindly.
Sirius was puzzled. What was wrong with that sentence? He had indeed never seen this cheap "brother-in-law" in Azkaban, and he had just remembered it.
"Investigation..." An Auror stared at Harry with a trembling voice, and spoke carefully and slowly, "It is the responsibility of the Auror Office. We have informed Director Scrimgeour, and he will come over to take over later."
Harry said nothing and made no movement.
Making his voice even more nervous: "Mr. Potter, what do you think?"
"I'm just a fourth-year wizard." Harry shook his head, "This isn't Hogwarts."
The Auror breathed a sigh of relief.
Harry then emphasized, "But I have to remind you of one thing. In addition to Mr. Malfoy, there seem to be many familiar figures among the Death Eaters."
Ludo was stunned.
Crouch thought of something and his face became even gloomier.
Malfoy, lying on the ground, had an extremely pale face that looked even less bloody.
"We probably won't leave the camp today. If you need any help, come and find me in our tent, the one with the lion statue." Harry greeted the Aurors.
Sirius sighed, "The lion head was burned."
"The red tent." Harry immediately changed the subject.
The Aurors nodded in agreement.
Wait until they are far away.
"Harry, you only caught one Malfoy?" Sirius asked in disbelief.
Harry answered him, "There's another one named Avery."
"Just those two?" Sirius frowned, "With your ability, you shouldn't have caught only those two."
Arthur pulled Sirius: "Harry is only in the fourth grade..."
"There's no need to catch them all." Harry shook his head. "The Ministry of Magic doesn't have the ability to deal with those people, and time is too tight to kill them all one by one."
Arthur was stunned, his mouth open.
What does time being too tight mean?
Is this how these words are used?
"Nearly half of that group of people were the ones we met in the stands," Harry went on. "Many of them were officials from the Ministry of Magic, or from the Sacred Twenty-Eight?"
"If they are all caught, most likely the Ministry will do nothing and just let them go."
"It would be better to catch Malfoy and make him the scapegoat for that group of people so that Uncle Arthur can vent his anger."
