Chapter 178 Wow, it’s a fire dragon

There was something wrong with Hagrid tonight.

Something is wrong.

He was always unkempt, wearing a fur coat, with his beard and hair all tangled up on his head, and he smelled of magical animal feces, and recently there was also a lot of smell of exploding-tailed skrewts, but tonight was different.

He groomed his hair and beard meticulously, put on a zebra plaid suit, and wore a gorgeous rose on his chest.

The strong perfume sprayed on her made Ron sneeze twice.

"Come, follow me." Hagrid spoke as slowly as possible to make himself look elegant, "Don't make any noise."

"Are you going to have a tryst with Ms. Maxime?" Harry blurted out.

Hagrid looked back in panic, tripped over his left foot and almost fell down the stairs.

Hermione waved her wand and a levitation spell caught him.

Hagrid used the force to regain his balance and patted his chest in fear. "Oh, thank you. I thought all my efforts this afternoon would be wasted."

"I'm not going on a tryst."

"It's just that I think Ms. Maxime would also like that creature. Let's take her over to see it."

Hermione said faintly: "Help the Beauxbatons warriors understand the content of the first round of the competition."

Ron nodded in agreement: "Yes, that's right."

"Hey, Ms. Maxime is the referee," Hagrid argued for her.

Harry said calmly, "But you said that professors from every school will spare no effort to help the warriors."

Hagrid was startled. He frowned and hesitated.

It seems... that's the truth?

Right now, Hogwarts and Beauxbatons are competing with each other. Would it be considered as backstabbing Harry by doing this?

Harry raised his hand and pushed him gently. "We were just joking, Professor Hagrid. Don't you trust your best student?"

"My participation in the competition itself is bullying them. If they don't even know what the first round of the competition is about, isn't that bullying them even more?"

Hagrid let out a long breath: "Harry, is this all right?"

"Of course." Harry nodded, thinking that he couldn't see his movements under the invisibility cloak, and gently pushed him, "Let's go, it's not easy to meet a woman like Ms. Maxime who is a good match for you."

Hagrid scratched his head shyly. "Do you think we're a good match too?"

Hermione said in a cold tone, lowering her voice: "Harry, I still find it hard to believe that he is what you said... a rare master of magical creatures."

"It's hard for me to believe it," Harry agreed, "but it's true."

Hermione sighed: "Ron is more of a master than Hagrid?"

Ron, who was innocently caught in the crossfire, was completely confused.

What's wrong with me!

I'm only fourteen, okay?

They followed Hagrid as he knocked on the door of Beauxbatons and welcomed Maxime out.

Hagrid had probably never been in love before, and he didn't realize what his position was in the wizarding world. He was very restrained and clumsy in front of Ms. Maxime, even more nervous than when he faced Dumbledore when he did something wrong.

He had ulterior motives, and took Maxim on a long walk in the moonlight, circling the Forbidden Forest until the lake and castle were no longer in sight.

Harry looked off into the distance.

There were three extremely powerful and hot auras, as well as the auras of some wizards, and the sounds of wind, whistling, and roaring that flowed into his ears.

"We're here." After walking a few more steps and going around a grove of woods, Hagrid pointed ahead.

Maxim stared ahead with wide eyes.

Ron almost exclaimed.

It's a dragon!

The three dragons were locked in a paddock surrounded by thick wooden planks, with huge iron chains tied around their necks, wings, and claws. This made the dragons restless, baring their teeth at the wizards outside the paddock, and occasionally spitting out a few dragon breaths to drive back the wizards gathered outside the paddock.

Hagrid was communicating with the wizards outside the paddock.

Among them was Charlie, who was the best performing wizard among them. He was closest to the fire dragons, maintaining the transformation spell, trying to suppress the restless fire dragons.

But his magic power is a little weak, so it is difficult for him to achieve that level.

Harry studied the dragons carefully.

Fireball Dragon, Short-nosed Dragon, Green Dragon.

This made him a little disappointed, as these dragons were all of the relatively docile types.

Fireball dragons are one of the few dragon species that are willing to share a piece of territory with other dragons. Green dragons are the most gentle type of fire dragon. They rarely attack humans and mostly hunt sheep for food.

The most dangerous of them is probably the short-nosed dragon.

It is the most beautiful of the three fire dragons, with silver-blue scales. Unlike ordinary fire dragons that breathe dragon breath from their mouths, it usually spews dazzling and high-temperature blue flames from its nostrils, which can burn stones and bones to ashes in an instant.

The dragon is particularly attractive to Hagrid.

He seemed to have forgotten about Harry and the others, and even ignored Maxim.

After watching for a while, Harry pulled Ron and Hermione's hands, and they understood what he meant and left the Forbidden Forest.

On the way back, they ran into the sneaky Karkaroff, who didn't even use the Disillusionment Charm, but sneaked into the Forbidden Forest openly. It seemed that no one would abide by the rules that Ludo said, and everyone had a tacit understanding and tried every means to get the news.

Wait until we get back to the lounge.

Ron's excitement had not yet subsided. He paced back and forth in front of the fireplace: "Harry, did you see that? It's a dragon, a fire dragon!"

"And as Charlie said, your first task will be to challenge the fire dragons and obtain their treasures from under their watch!"

"We heard it." Hermione said calmly.

Ron frowned. "But how do we deal with a dragon? It's the most dangerous creature. Let me think, the Eye Disease Curse? This seems to be one of the best spells to deal with a dragon..."

He didn't finish his words. Harry didn't say a word. He just pulled the snake bone sword out of the Sorting Hat, placed it gently on the table, and stretched out his two hands, with a serious look on his face, pointing at the sword.

Ron's words were stuck.

"Oh, that's no problem for you, Harry," he stammered after a long moment, sitting down as he spoke, "You killed the basilisk."

"We must prepare in advance." Hermione counted on her fingers, "We must use fireproof potion."

Harry pulled two bottles of dark potion from the Sorting Hat.

"Healing Potion?" Hermione pressed a finger down.

Harry pulled two more bottles of bright red potion from the Sorting Hat.

Hermione pressed another finger down: "It seems to be nothing?"

"Don't forget the ancient runes." Harry waved his wand and the robes slid off him, revealing snakeskin armor. "I can attach some fireproof runes to the armor."

"And weapons."

He pulled out the Sword of Gryffindor from the Sorting Hat: "The snake bone sword is poisonous, and it may destroy the material properties of the fire dragon."

"There is also sword oil, which needs to be prepared again."

The sword oil on Gryffindor's sword is the most basic sword oil, which is made from ergot seeds and dog oil.

"And potions."

Harry continued.

The Animagus ritual was still going on. There had been no thunderstorms during this period. In order to prevent the hard work of the past few months from being wasted, he could not cast weather spells. However, even without the thunder potion blessed by a thunderstorm, its effect was barely enough.

He and Snape's research has reached the final step and will be completed in the next few days.

"It seems I have to turn down the detentions of other professors and focus on Professor Snape's detention." Harry finally made a decision.

The first round of matches is getting closer.

The warriors also got busy.

Hermione hadn't seen Fleur wandering around the castle with her burden in the past few days.

Harry was often missing and even skipped Divination and History of Magic classes. He would not return from Snape's office until after midnight every day.

The potion went well.

But there were some problems with the preparation of the sword oil.

The preparation of high-grade dragon oil became the thing that troubled Harry and Snape for the longest time.

The idea behind preparing sword oil is very similar to the "ointment" in potions, but ointments are mostly used for treatment, and there are almost no ointments with damaging effects, not to mention that it should be able to target fire dragons.

The two most critical ingredients for the Demon Hunter's Dragon Oil are the "stomach of a petrified chicken snake" and the "liver of a demon warrior", but these two creatures cannot be found in this world.

But the idea can be used.

Dragon beast oil is made from the acids of these two creatures, which have a strong corrosive effect on "thick-skinned" creatures. This corrosive effect will not harm metal products. The "whitening powder" required for high-level dragon beast oil has the "power of purification", which is to expel the magical effect of the dragon beast skin.

After Harry had led his thoughts astray for two days.

Snape was so angry that he kicked him out of his office. After two days of seclusion, he handed Harry a bottle of sword oil and a recipe.

A creation made from a mixture of unicorn horn powder, basilisk gastric juice, and silver powder.

He had tried it and found that applying it on the blade could indeed make it easier to cut dragon skin.

Until the day of the competition.

Harry and his friends were having lunch in the hall when Professor McGonagall came and called him away.

The young wizards of Hogwarts all watched as he followed Professor McGonagall out of the castle and finally disappeared.

They made their way to the same woodland that Hagrid had taken them to before.

Compared to that night, the scene was completely changed. The enclosure surrounded by thick wooden boards was converted into a huge fighting cage with two entrances. Some senior students could not wait to go in through one of the entrances to grab the best seats.

The other entrance was a huge tent, and Ludo was standing at the door, waiting for Harry.

"Harry, and Professor McGonagall, this way." He tiptoed and waved excitedly.

They walked over.

Fleur and Krum had no schoolwork to contend with; they were always one step ahead of Harry.

But compared to the atmosphere of the previous two times, this time was very dull. Fleur sat uneasily on the bench at the entrance of the tent, and Krum paced back and forth anxiously.

"Now all the warriors are here." Ludo clapped his hands, attracting everyone's attention, "Now let me reveal the content of the first game."

He pulled out a purple cloth bag from his robe, untied the rope and opened the bag.

"First, you have to take out the models of the creatures you are about to face from my pocket one by one."

"Then, from under the care of these little creatures, you will obtain a golden egg. Please note, it is a golden egg."

"While the students are still entering, let's extract the animals first."

Lu Duo paused and looked at Furong: "Madam..."

"As the host, I'll go first," Harry interrupted him.

Ludo was stunned, and before he could nod, Harry walked up to him and glanced into the bag with his peripheral vision. The light was dim, but he could still see clearly. He reached his hand inside, accurately grabbed the one he wanted most, and pulled it out.

A silver-blue fire dragon model was struggling in his hands.

Fleur and Krum both breathed a sigh of relief, the most dangerous one having been taken away.

Harry looked at him, then at Ludo, whose eyes were wide open. He thought that the warriors would not know the "facts" of the game until this moment. He calmed down and said in surprise with a blank expression, "Wow, it's a fire dragon."

Fleur and Krum were stunned.

He also exclaimed in an exaggerated manner.
