Chapter 252 A Small Experiment

Ron suddenly understood.

I was deeply impressed by the alchemical bomb. Although I had never seen it with my own eyes, George and Fred always described it in great detail. Dumbledore praised them highly and even expressed regret that if George and Fred were born fifty years earlier, they might have become disciples of Nicolas Flamel.

They both are really talented at alchemy.

He immediately dropped the paper, stood up expectantly, blinked his eyes, and stared at his two brothers, almost exactly like the beggar Boss: "Shall we set off now?"

"Harry?" George and Fred sought the advice of the most important person.

"Come on, let's go." Harry put the newspaper down.

"What about the newspaper?" Hermione tugged at his sleeve.

"Let Dumbledore and the others worry about it." Harry shook his head, "These things have nothing to do with us."

Wasn't the original intention of establishing the Order of the Phoenix to solve these troubles?

Hermione stood up along with Harry and they walked out of the castle.

Saturday mornings were the quietest time at Hogwarts.

The students who did not get up too late rushed to the auditorium in a large group, and then rushed to the classroom in a large group.

There were no professors coming and going.

Even Filch slept in, and Mrs. Norris lazily lay at the door, enjoying the bright morning sunshine.

They walked to the Black Lake.

"Last night was really intense." George sighed as he looked at a piece of clothing left by the lake.

"It looks like Jordan's girlfriend's." Fred squatted down, looked carefully, and came to a conclusion.

"Really?" George was surprised.

Fred nodded.

"How did you know?" Ron was surprised, "That's Li's girlfriend."

George and Fred smiled at each other, something so wicked that it made Hermione feel uncomfortable.

Ron wanted to ask more questions, to know the ins and outs of this matter.

Hermione waved her wand, and the clothes on the ground flew away, turned into stones and sank into the water with a thud. "Don't talk about these boring things, try your new inventions quickly."

"Of course, of course, Miss Granger." George immediately turned over his pockets, "Please don't deduct points from Gryffindor."

"She's not a prefect!" Fred emphasized in a low voice.

George was surprised: "Oh my God, it's okay that Harry is not a prefect, but Hermione is not either?"

"Mom said that when she was praising little Ronnie the other day!" Fred shook his head, "You didn't listen to Mom carefully."

They were noisy.

George pulled out an egg-shaped grenade, which was almost completely similar to the hand grenades in the ordinary world, except that the pattern on the shell was different. It was printed with a vivid and majestic griffin: "Dangdangdang! This is our latest invention!"

"That's what you wanted, Harry. A high-powered weapon of mass destruction!"

“It’s very easy to use.”

"Like me."

George put his little finger on the grenade ring, held it tightly, and lifted it high above his head. "To prevent Muggles or other people from misusing it, we refer to the Muggle method and add a layer of insurance for the grenade."

"It's a spell."

He took a deep breath and read out loud: "Explosion!"

It is six syllables long, but does not require the same consideration of rhythm and emotion as a formal spell.

The grenade was thrown, drawing a beautiful arc in the air, and then fell into the black lake with a splash.

Harry waved his wand.

Protect them all!

The invisible barrier protects this group of people.

At this moment, there was a huge roar, shaking the surface of the Black Lake and causing huge waves to surge high. Immediately afterwards, cold air rolled out, freezing the water before it could reach its highest point. A thick layer of ice crystals also formed on the water surface, spreading all around.

With a crackling sound, a layer of tiny ice flowers appeared on all the protective magic barriers.

"How is it?" George shook his head, proudly, "This effect is amazing, isn't it?"

"It's really good." Harry said in amazement.

The ice was still spreading, and in just the time it took to say these few words, it had eroded nearly one-tenth of the water surface.

Several breaths of air came rapidly from underwater, but before they emerged, when they were still several feet away from the water surface, they could not bear the cold and swam back without hesitation.

It's the Murloc tribe of Black Lake.

Only a few murlocs did not go back. They swam to the center of the Black Lake, far away from the ice, and cast magic to eliminate the ice. This was very effective. After all, these ice cubes were not magical creations. There were just too many of them and they spread too fast. They only slowed down the spread of the ice, but could not completely eliminate it.

Mrs. Norris, who was at the castle gate, was frightened and fled back into the castle trembling and in a panic.

"In fact, we were just trying to freeze them at first," George explained, "but as you saw that day, they froze too quickly and we couldn't escape."

"So we took our dad's guidance, drew on the experience of the Muggles, and made it explode."

"Hey, I bet no one would have thought that this thing has two effects." Fred clapped his hands, and they bloomed like petals. His fingers moved nimbly, imitating the rise of fireworks. "The explosion is enough to make people suffer a lot."

"But it still feels a little weak." George sighed, "It would be better if it could be bigger."

Fred also sighed: "Professor Dumbledore used magic twice to eliminate the effect of our alchemical grenade that day. We were naive at the time and thought that this thing could at least pose a threat to the professor."

"But Dad gave us a lecture, but he said that this thing should be very useful in your hands, Harry."

Ron was puzzled and pointed to the lake: "Isn't this thing very powerful?"

"Harry didn't make such a noise when he duelled with Professor Snape the other day."

He swallowed and added, "I mean, Professor Snape didn't use a spell that powerful."

"You're still too young, little Ronnie." George shook his head and looked at him with pity. "If this thing could explode in front of the professors, even Professor Dumbledore, I guarantee that this thing would send them to live in St. Mungo's for a while."

"But it's not that simple." Fred sighed. "It takes at least two seconds for this thing to explode after it is thrown. The professors may not have seen this thing before, but they will not let it get in front of them."

"Professor Flitwick casts an Impediment Charm."

"Professor McGonagall can use a Transfiguration spell."

"Professor Snape will burn it clean with a single Fiendfyre."

"Perhaps, only Professor Sprout might be defeated?"

Harry denied their claims, "Not Professor Sprout, she'd bite into a kale, swallow the thing, and then pounce on your faces."

George and Fred shuddered as they recalled something bad.

"How many of these did you make?" Harry asked.

"In addition to the one I showed you, Harry, we have three more." George continued to search in his pocket, and soon took out three coins and handed them to Harry.

"It's not that we don't want to make more." Fred sighed, "This thing is very powerful, but because of this, the cost of making it is very high. One piece probably costs more than a hundred Galleons?"

Ron's eyes widened.

This thing costs more than a hundred Galleons each?

Just now, my two brothers just casually threw out a hundred Galleons and exploded?

When would Weasley ever do something so generous?

"It's not just the magic materials that are hard to get." George continued to sigh, "Gunpowder is also hard to get. Muggles actually take this thing very seriously. God, Harry, you don't know how crazy Muggles are."

"We just went to buy gunpowder. We said we were going to make some bombs." Fred pinched his waist, indignant, "We have money, pounds! We borrowed it from Sirius. The boss said nicely that we should wait a while while he went to get the goods."

"Who knew he would turn around and call the Muggle Auror, what was his name..."

Hermione deadpanned, "Scotland Yard Patrol Sergeant?"

The two brothers nodded quickly: "That's right!"

"It was that group of people who captured us. Fortunately, we all knew how to cast the Patronus Charm and informed our father to come over, otherwise we would have to stay in the Muggle Azkaban."

Hermione shook her head. "Gunpowder is contraband in ordinary people's society, just like... dragon eggs."

"Why would it be contraband?" George muttered. "Didn't they start a war with that stuff?"

Fred also couldn't understand: "Even if the mysterious man is wreaking so much havoc, magic wands won't become contraband."

Hermione explained to them patiently.

Harry looked towards the castle.

A group of Hufflepuffs poked their heads out of the door, staring at the huge icicles on the lake and exclaimed in amazement.

Filch was following behind Professor McGonagall, and judging by his mouth movements he seemed to be swearing, and indeed he was swearing; Harry could hear it clearly.

"For all the reasons mentioned above, gunpowder is contraband." Professor Granger had just finished his popular science lecture. "If you need it, you can try to get Sirius to contact some black marketeers, the kind shown in the movies."

George and Fred nodded seriously, taking in the advice.

"I am very unhappy to see you making such a big noise on a weekend morning and still thinking about how to break Muggle laws." Professor McGonagall's serious voice came from behind them, penetrating their hearts as cold as the lake, and reaching their ears.

Hermione stiffened and turned around.

George and Fred grinned, "Dear Professor, we haven't done anything yet."

Mag stretched out his hand and pointed to the lake: "What's going on?"

Just then a fish-man broke out of the ice, chattering and cursing. After a few words, it was so cold that it shivered and dived back again.

"A small, insignificant experiment." George gestured with his fingers, with his index finger and thumb forming a circle, revealing a tiny distance.

"You call this a little one!" Filch jumped up. "Oh my god, I thought the castle had exploded at first!"

I was sleeping soundly when suddenly the sky fell and the earth broke.

Even the Gryffindors and Ravenclaws in the tower were woken up.
