Chapter 283: First Lesson

Thicknesse stood up, greeted Voldemort, and asked for instructions.

He walked to the center of the hall, facing the Death Eaters, waving at them enthusiastically. After becoming a Death Eater, or perhaps because of becoming the Minister of Magic, his personality changed greatly.

Before this, he couldn't do anything so ostentatious.

"My dear brothers, we will inevitably clash with each other in the future." Thicknesse waved his wand gently, "but everything is for the great cause of the master!"

"Let us raise our glasses tonight and praise our great master."

The Death Eaters raised their glasses and praised the great Dark Lord.

The new year has arrived and the snow is still falling.

This year's winter seems to be longer than in previous years.

It seemed that the house-elves were a bit slack last night and failed to add firewood to the common room in time. Hermione, who got up early in the morning, was so cold that she sneezed several times. After seven o'clock, a house-elf slapped his mouth and muttered while adding firewood to the fireplace.

When Harry returned, the common room was not even warm enough.

"It's hard to believe that the Daily Prophet actually did something serious." Hermione Otter was surprised and waved the newspaper in her hand. "I just can't believe it."

Harry took it.

Front page headlines.

It is a huge, gloomy, vivid Dark Mark.

《Return? Great Crisis of Great Britain! That person is back from the ashes!》

Harry couldn't help but be shocked, and the expression on his face almost broke.

He walked to the window and looked at the sky - the sun was indeed rising from the east, and it was snowing heavily on the first day of January, but there was no strange weather.

Everything is normal.

Except for the Daily Prophet.

Harry didn't rush to continue watching. He waved his wand, cast a spell on himself, took out a bottle of potion and drank it.

It's not an illusion, it's real.

Hermione and Ron could understand Harry's approach.

After making sure there was no problem, Harry started to read the contents.

What surprised him even more was that this article was not just a clickbait title, but actually had solid content.

The Daily Prophet said that they invited the Minister of Magic to take a deeper look at what happened in Gringotts on Christmas Eve.

The Ministry of Magic acknowledges that the contents of The Quibbler are correct.

There was indeed a Death Eaters gathering that night, and their target was not the assets in the vault, but a certain prop in the vault. They sacrificed dozens of lives and held an extremely cruel ritual to resurrect a remarkable figure. He was most likely the mysterious man, but of course it was also possible that he was someone else.

And admit it.

The Ministry certainly didn't accomplish much that day, but luckily for them there was Mr. Potter, who fought off the resurrected man and cut off an arm.

It’s just a pity…

Mr. Potter might be too young. If he grows up a few more years, he will be able to kill that man completely.

But the future of the wizarding world is not dark, but bright, because we have Potter!

Thicknesse also said that the Ministry of Magic would learn from this experience and would replace the entire Auror Office, and would assess all Aurors, and those who failed would be sent back for retraining.

The more Harry read, the more his frown deepened.

"Harry, is there something wrong with this report?" Hermione looked a little puzzled.

In her opinion, this report is the most fair and objective one published by the Daily Prophet in recent years.

Harry nodded. "Of course, Dumbledore isn't mentioned in it."

Hermione was stunned.

"They want to push me to the forefront and become a benchmark in the fight against Voldemort." Harry put down the newspaper.

Ron tilted his head: "Isn't it?"

Isn't Harry the main force against Voldemort now? In his impression, since the first grade, it has always been Harry who faced Voldemort directly. As for Dumbledore... the greatest white wizard of this century, he usually only came out to say a few wisecracks after Harry had solved everything.

Snape's contribution to all of these things was greater than his!

After all, Professor Snape and Harry killed a basilisk together in their second year.

What did Dumbledore solve for Harry?

A can of cockroaches.

"That's true." Harry nodded, rapping his knuckles on the newspaper, making a rustling sound. "But Professor Dumbledore is still the greatest white wizard of this century, fighting against the Dark Lord. He is considered the most powerful dark wizard in history. Can we get around him?"

Ron nodded, thoughtfully.

Of course it cannot be avoided.

Dumbledore is the epitome of justice.

He was the one who fought against Voldemort in the first place, and now that Voldemort has returned, he is not dead. Maybe Harry can become another role model, but he definitely should not be the only one.

"Of course, it is not ruled out that the Ministry of Magic wants to boost morale." Harry raised the newspaper. "A rising star is always more promising than an old evening star."

"Besides, Dumbledore's power is already very great. If we further enhance his power, will the Ministry of Magic still be the Ministry of Magic?"

“This is a common tactic they use.”

"That's true for Fudge, and I think Thicknesse is no exception."

Hermione looked at Harry and nodded thoughtfully. Girls always mature earlier than boys, and she had already begun to think about her future.

Harry didn't care about these things, but she did.

Ron frowned and scratched his face. Last year, he didn't quite understand these things, but after a whole summer of Percy's influence, he now understands the twists and turns involved.

"I really don't want to go to the Ministry of Magic." Ron sighed, "It feels too complicated."

Hermione glanced at him, "No, it's not complicated at all for you."

Ron was startled. He pinched his waist and said, "Hermione! I still have brains. I can understand..."

Hermione interrupted him: "No, Ron, I'm not scolding you."

"It's not complicated for you at all. You're Harry Potter's friend."

Ron was startled again. He turned his head to look at Harry and finally understood what Hermione meant: "Oh, I am a friend of the greatest wizard of the 21st century. We grew up together and Harry has no interest in these things. If I go to the Ministry of Magic, can I represent Harry?"

"It represents a part." Hermione emphasized.

Harry clapped his hands: "Okay, now is not the time to think about these things, we have to go to class."

Monday's classes are very busy.

In the morning, there were History of Magic and Potions classes. Before I had much rest at noon, I had Divination class at one o'clock. After Divination class, there was the first Defense Against the Dark Arts class of the week.

Sirius had spent the entire Christmas holiday preparing for this lesson.

only……

Before he could finish calling the roll, the classroom door was pushed open.

Scrimgeour led a team of Aurors and barged in without any explanation.
