Chapter 296 Reef

Voldemort looked at Snape fondly.

Snape nodded: "I will do everything I can."

"But Dumbledore is not that easy to deal with."

Voldemort tilted his head, walked back to the table and sat down: "Do you know Dumbledore's past?"

Snape shook his head.

Voldemort waved his wand gently, and several pieces of parchment flew out, hovering and rotating around them: "That's right, you are young and don't know the past of the older generation."

"I just figured something out recently."

At this point, he pointed his wand forward and a piece of parchment froze in place.

On it is a line of fairy tale poetry and a symbol - a symbol made up of a triangle, a circle and a straight line.

“I never take fairy tales seriously.” Voldemort said softly, “Who would believe something that was invented just to fool children?”

"It turns out that I was indeed somewhat negligent."

"The treasures bestowed by the god of death on the three brothers are the three holy relics of death. They do exist."

"The Gaunt family ring that I made into one of the Horcruxes and has now been destroyed is the Resurrection Stone among the Three Deathly Hallows."

Snape stood quietly.

"Aren't you curious about that thing?" Voldemort asked him, and their eyes met again.

Snape replied: "Dumbledore told me, but Potter and several other professors never let me or Dumbledore touch it."

Voldemort was startled and gritted his teeth: "Potter?"

"Dumbledore and Potter discovered the ring together." Snape nodded. "Dumbledore almost put it on, but he was beaten up by Potter and couldn't put it on."

"Almost." Voldemort muttered the word.

"I really am getting more and more disgusted with Potter."

"I cast a beautiful curse on that ring. I was wondering how Dumbledore could have…"

"I admit that he is great, but in these matters, he is weak, weaker than most people."

"I'm just saying..."

"You know what? From what I know about Dumbledore, he would have died without Potter."

"Almost, just that little bit."

Voldemort suddenly realized it, waved his wand, and the parchments flew away again, falling back on the table and stacked neatly.

"Severus, I can tell you something about Dumbledore's past." After everything was put away, Voldemort looked at Snape again and said softly, "Only when you thoroughly understand what kind of person you are dealing with can you find a way to deal with him."

Voldemort knew a lot.

Who wouldn't be curious about the greatest white wizard of this century?

This white wizard in particular had a close relationship with the greatest black wizard of the time.

No matter how powerful or heartless Tom is, he is curious.

Snape listened, and everything in his mind was gradually being filled in.

In Hogwarts.

Under Harry's increasingly cold gaze, like a knife, Dumbledore finally could not sit still anymore. He stood up and followed Harry away reluctantly.

Apparition.

Dumbledore chose this as the most convenient, but also Harry's least favorite way to travel.

After a snap——

They appeared on a reef, more than a hundred meters away from the shore. The salty sea breeze blew, rolling up waves. The moonlight was dim, hidden by layers of dark clouds. The sea was surging and pitch black, with a huge and inexplicable attraction, as if it wanted to swallow up everything on the sea.

"What's the view?" Dumbledore asked.

Harry looked up.

In the clouds, water vapor and thunder and lightning are brewing.

He gave his wand a flick.

Thunder roared and raindrops fell.

"That's good." Harry said expressionlessly, casting a rain-proof spell on the two of them. "Does that orphanage have the funds to take the children on a voyage?"

He had never seen an orphanage in this world.

Can……

This rule should be applicable no matter in which world. The purpose of the orphanage is to ensure the survival of those children, not to guarantee their lives - in other words, all they have to do is to ensure that the children can survive, and as for what kind of life they can live, that is not important.

There is nothing better than being alive.

If you have money to improve your children’s lives, you might as well adopt a few more children.

Dumbledore shook his head. "Of course not. In fact, those who can't do magic are doing much better than those of us who can do magic. Their government requires every orphanage to ensure that the children receive grammar education and travel once a year."

"This orphanage is no exception."

"They brought their children to travel to a village not far away."

“Tom Ricker may have come with his little friends at the time.”

At this point, he paused for a moment and looked into the distance: "Of course, this is just the beginning. His destination, and our destination, are further away."

Dumbledore led the way and Harry followed him.

They walked to the edge of the rock and stepped on the jagged grooves. Dumbledore was very old and even had difficulty holding on to the slippery cracks and stones, but his outstanding magical ability protected him and made it look like he was crawling down normally.

"You might as well just use magic to land directly." Harry jumped down steadily.

Dumbledore stretched and said, "I also want to try an exciting method."

"Are you that exciting?" Harry sighed unhappily.

Dumbledore nodded seriously: "Of course it is exciting."

Harry said helplessly: "As long as you like it."

Dumbledore took a few more steps forward and waved his wand.

Fluorescent flashes!

On the cliff, there is a crack deeper than the sea surface, stuck at the bottom of the cliff.

"There it is," Dumbledore pointed.

Harry pulled a powerful flashlight from the Sorting Hat and illuminated the area brightly.

Dumbledore was stunned and took back his wand a little late.

"Ordinary people's things are very useful." Harry's mouth curled up slightly.

Dumbledore agreed, "Yes, an old man like me never thought of these things. I have seen many good things in the past few months of traveling."

With a wave of his wand he transformed a pebble into a canoe.

"Of course, there are times when magic cannot be replaced." He stepped onto the canoe.

Harry followed.

The wooden boat floated slowly forward, and as soon as it entered the crack, the entire corridor suddenly became clear.

"This reef is actually hollow." Harry was a little surprised. "It doesn't look like that from the outside, nor does it feel like that when you step on it."

Dumbledore shook his head and lowered his voice: "Harry, do you remember what I taught you?"

"Where magic is, there must be traces."

"Close your eyes and feel it."

Harry listened to him, closed his eyes, stretched out his hand, and sensed the surroundings.

A moment later, in the pitch-black field of vision, a lightning-like blue vein suddenly flashed. In just a split second, the heart beat slightly, and then it quickly disappeared.

"Did you see that?" Dumbledore immediately said with a smile.

Harry nodded.

"Harry, your biggest shortcoming right now is that you are too young." Dumbledore said softly, "At this time, Tom is not very strong, but he is very experienced in casting spells and can hide them very deeply, but there is no magic that can be completely hidden."

Harry shook his head.

Dumbledore was stunned: "You disagree?"

"For example, the magic on the ring can be said to be completely hidden from you." Harry said expressionlessly.

Dumbledore snapped and covered his face, "No, Harry, we won't talk about this. Didn't you find out?"

Harry chuckled.

The boat soon reached the end, which was a huge cave.

Harry used his witcher senses to explore skillfully.

There are no living creatures.

Not to mention the magical animals that should have invaded and survived in this area, there were not even any ordinary creatures. It was extremely clean.

The magic veins flickered once again. Of course, what attracted more attention was the wall hidden in the hole.

"Already discovered it?" Dumbledore was surprised.

Harry nodded and raised his wand. "Some of them are too obvious. I don't mean the magic of it, but the way it exists."

There are no such unnatural walls in nature.

Moreover, it is clean and has no signs of erosion by sea breeze or sea water.

The shadow of an arch emerged, and white light burst out in a blink of an eye. After a loud rumble, the wall tried to open, but no matter how hard it tried, the final result remained unchanged.

"It's a contract." Dumbledore and Harry said in unison.

"He is very clever." Dumbledore sighed, "He actually came up with this idea to make a contract with this sea and this reef. Unless I destroy everything here, I cannot open this door."

"What else is hidden in the wall, Fiendfyre?" Harry stroked the wall. "Oh, there's more than that. There are some strange things too."

Dumbledore nodded: "So we need a little price."

He reached into his pocket and took out a small silver knife that he often used in Potions class, while rolling up his sleeves.

"I think you should leave this matter to me. Who knows at your age, you might suddenly die from lack of blood." Harry held his hand.

Dumbledore shook his head, his attitude firm: "No, Harry, this cannot be done."

"Although it does seem that you are more suitable, but... we are different."

"Your blood is more valuable than mine."

"And I've tried it once before. This wall will store the blood of visitors. I've been stored there once, so a little more won't hurt. Tom, oh Tom, you're such a cunning creature."

"Harry."

He looked straight into Harry's eyes, his deep blue eyes shining with sincerity.

Harry pulled his hand back.

Dumbledore slashed his wrist with the silver knife, and blood spurted out and splashed on the wall.

There was a loud rumbling sound.

The shadow of the arch reappeared and did not disappear. It became solid, and the stones on the wall moved and soon it was completely assembled, filling the shadow.

"Let's go."

Dumbledore cast a healing spell on himself, leaving another ugly and hideous scar on his arm, and walked deeper into the depths, following the light from Harry's flashlight.

Inside the arch is a dead, dark freshwater lake.

The demon hunter's senses in the lake were empty, there was nothing in it, only some sticky and terrifying smell remained.
