Nagini is not in very good health.
She is already very old.
The house-elves were so cautious in taking care of her, not out of fear, but out of concern that they might hurt her.
But it didn't affect her soul.
Half a month later.
Hogwarts was empty and quiet, even looking a little deserted.
Filch and his Mrs. Norris ushered in the most peaceful but also the loneliest life.
In the principal's office.
Dumbledore was somewhat unsure of his own judgment and called another person to check.
Grindelwald couldn't stop his hands from shaking as he put Nagini down. "It looks healthy. There are some wounds on its soul, but they are all very old and very old."
"It was she," Dumbledore corrected.
"The little girl next to Credence?" Grindelwald looked nostalgic.
"Aurelius," Dumbledore continued to correct.
He paused, and said in a complicated tone: "We owe them a lot."
"Blood-cursed orc." Grindelwald shook his head with a complicated expression.
This is an ancient curse, as old as lycanthropy.
"If Aurelius and she can have a child, we may be able to slowly work out a way to deal with the blood-cursed orcs." Grindelwald said softly, "But Nagini is not as healthy as Mr. Lupin. I'm afraid her body and willpower will not support us doing so."
Dumbledore said nothing, but looked even more guilty.
He had had his chance.
"What are you going to do next?" Harry changed the subject. "Stay in Hogwarts?"
Grindelwald laughed to himself: "Nurmengard has been destroyed."
"Azkaban is not suitable for a dark wizard like me who knows the Patronus Charm."
"No Ministry of Magic dares to detain me. Only Hogwarts, where two of the greatest wizards of the time are, can hold me."
"Besides, those hours of Cruciatus Curse I endured couldn't have been in vain."
He raised his hands, still shaking.
Can still cast spells barely.
But to Grindelwald, shaking to this extent was almost the same as a useless person.
But he accepted it calmly.
"Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor?" Harry asked, looking eager to try.
Grindelwald heard the emotion, narrowed his eyes, and looked over suspiciously: "Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts?"
"Although you are in a mess now, your level is there." Harry nodded. "When it comes to your understanding of the Dark Arts, I'm afraid no one can compare to you."
"Of course, of course." Grindelwald responded. Even after hearing Harry's boasting, his mood did not change at all. "But I always feel that you want to beat me up."
Harry looked serious: "Mr. Grindelwald, how could you think so."
"I've heard that rumor, too." Grindelwald retorted, "You've beaten up every Defense Against the Dark Arts professor every year."
"Not this year," Harry said confidently.
Grindelwald sneered. "But he's still in St. Mungo's. I'm afraid he'll be absent for another month after school starts."
"At least you can substitute for a month." Harry continued.
Grindelwald shook his head. "No."
"Albus and I have already agreed that I will stay at Hogwarts, but not as a faculty member."
He paused.
He looked up at the Marauder's Map hanging in the headmaster's office and stared at the name on it: "Filch is seventy-five years old this year. For a wizard, this age is not old, but he is just a Squib."
"Eight floors, a basement, and two towers."
"That's a lot of pressure for a seventy-five-year-old Squib to bear."
"He needs a smart, great man to help share the work."
Harry was surprised: "You want to be a castle manager?"
"Five Galleons a week." Grindelwald nodded. "Only twenty Galleons a month. My God, if I hadn't experienced it myself, I wouldn't have believed that Hogwarts, the magic school second only to Durmstrang in the whole of Europe, would actually offer such a low salary."
Dumbledore began to explain: "Voldemort has caused too much damage to Hogwarts."
"We want compensation for the mermaid, and repairs to the castle."
"And if Neville gets into trouble in school, we will have to pay compensation."
"If it weren't for Harry's sake and your status, the school director wouldn't even agree. At this time, recruiting another insignificant position for Hogwarts, five Galleons is already very respectful."
Mag had a repaired watch made, which would cost at least two thousand Galleons.
Including the compensation, the amount is almost four thousand.
"In the two years since the Triwizard Tournament, Hogwarts has won the Triwizard Cup." Harry was more concerned about another point in Grindelwald's words and retorted, "Obviously, Hogwarts is the best school in all of Europe."
"Five Galleons a week is a bit too much for you."
“You can’t spend the money.”
Grindelwald shook his head. "No, I need to prepare gifts for Valentine's Day, Christmas, and my birthday every year. It's over 200 Galleons a year, divided into three parts. I can't buy anything nice with that."
"The Triwizard Tournament was won because of you. Obviously, Hogwarts can't have a class like you every year."
Harry smiled grimly. "For Albus, just prepare a can of cockroach pile. Three silver Sickles a bottle."
"Even without me two years ago, Cedric was more than capable of dealing with Durmstrang."
"A man who doesn't understand romance." Grindelwald shook his head and sighed. "Candy may be a good gift for children, but it is far from a good gift for adults."
"Who is Cedric?"
Dumbledore said, "A good Hufflepuff, like Scamander."
Grindelwald suffered a critical hit.
Hufflepuff, a name that brought back memories.
Just a few decades ago, a wizard who also came from this academy caused him great trouble.
The three of them were arguing a lot, with Fox occasionally chiming in.
But... in the end, Grindelwald still failed.
He couldn't beat Dumbledore and Harry.
Moreover, in the principal's office, there are not only Harry and Dumbledore's two mouths, but also portraits of Godric and portraits of all the previous headmasters of Hogwarts.
Until the very end, Grindelwald called them shameless.
Dozens of generations of Hogwarts people, from old to young, bullied him, the only child of Durmstrang.
Of course, he wasn't really angry, instead he seemed to be enjoying it.
Observation of Nagini continues.
After a month, her soul was still stable, allowing them to determine the specific time for the "operation".
It was scheduled for July 31st, Harry's birthday.
Dumbledore is still in charge.
The location is still in the Gryffindor Common Room.
