It's not a Sorting Hat, it's a motorcycle.
This is very unconventional.
The senior students were there to watch the fun at first, but soon they could no longer laugh and their eyes were filled with envy.
Dumbledore took the long list and read out the first name.
He walked up, bewildered.
Dumbledore motioned for him to climb onto the motorcycle.
The equipment for adults was a little too big for a child, and it took him a lot of effort to climb up.
The Sorting Hat communicated with him mentally, and after a few minutes, it shouted out, "Hufflepuff!"
It flew up, carrying the little wizard in a circle on the ceiling, and finally landed in front of the Hufflepuff table.
The headlights flickered, shining on the Hufflepuff prefects.
He immediately understood, stood up, raised his wand, and waved it lightly. The stool turned into a step, just right under the little wizard's feet.
The little badgers burst into loud and enthusiastic cheers.
Amid the cheers, the little wizard's face flushed, he excitedly stepped on the stairs, fell down with a thud, and rolled onto the table.
"Welcome to Hufflepuff." The prefect helped him up and spoke gently.
The seniors are fine.
The younger students, especially the sophomores, were so envious that they almost cried.
When they entered school last year, they all wore old, worn hats—and they smelled strange, like potions, herbs, dragon dung…
This year's Sorting Ceremony was so cool.
They will also be personally delivered to the college's dining table.
The Sorting Hat is a pain in the ass, but the little wizards love it.
The only problem was that it took a long time. This year's opening ceremony took longer than in previous years.
Wait until the last little wizard is assigned to a school.
The Sorting Hat brought him to a stop in front of the Slytherin table.
Malfoy stood up and waved his wand, creating ornate, emerald green steps decorated with silver snake patterns.
The most tired people at the sorting ceremony were the prefects.
Everything was fine at first, Hufflepuffs were simple people, and they conjured up wooden steps.
Gryffindor is a lively house that conjures up steps covered with bear skins.
Things changed from then on.
Slytherin can't be worse than Gryffindor.
The other two colleges don’t compete with each other, but if we are too much worse than others, wouldn’t it make our college look inferior?
Dumbledore walked back to the teachers' table.
The Sorting Hat shone with its headlights: "Albus, can I go now? Buckbeak is still waiting for me."
Mag sighed.
Dumbledore nodded, but before he finished nodding, the Sorting Hat left the side hall with a swish. The harsh sound of tires rubbing against the ground echoed in everyone's ears.
"It seems that our Sorting Hat is living a happy life now." Dumbledore smiled.
This caused the students to burst into laughter.
Dumbledore waved his hand, signaling them to be quiet: "Before school starts, there are two things I need to say."
"The first thing is that Mr. Filch is already very old, so we have to find someone to share this work with him, which is a bit too heavy for him."
"Let us welcome ..."
"Mr. Gellert."
At the end of the teacher's seat, next to Filch, an old man stood up. His hands were shaking uncontrollably, his expression was kind, and the most striking thing was his pair of blue gemstone-like eyes.
The young wizards gave lukewarm applause.
Dumbledore did not stop him, and let the applause die out completely before continuing: "The second thing is the Defense Against the Dark Arts in the new year..."
The Gryffindors cheered.
They did not see Snape.
Is that annoying guy finally going to get the hell out of this castle?
"It will still be Professor Snape who will take charge," Dumbledore said. Gryffindor looked dejected, and even many badgers sighed in disappointment.
"It's just that at the end of last school year, Professor Snape bravely volunteered to solve some problems and suffered considerable injuries. He is currently recuperating at St. Mungo's and will not be able to return to Hogwarts until November."
"Until then, Defense Against the Dark Arts will be taught by Professor Remus Lupin."
A little lion wailed, "Professor Lupin, why can't you always be in charge? Isn't the disease cured?"
"My child will be born by the end of this year." Lupin smiled heartily and answered him, "I have to return to my family and take good care of the child."
Gryffindor cheered for Lupin.
Dumbledore waved his hand: "As for the rest..."
"I promise you that this year will be the safest, most peaceful and trouble-free year ever."
Another little lion shouted, "Professor, you said the same thing last year."
But last year…
Hogwarts was smashed up.
"There are always some surprises, aren't there?" Dumbledore smiled, "That won't happen this year."
"Besides, our dear Mr. Potter, you only have the last year of classes left at Hogwarts."
Almost everyone.
Everyone, including Malfoy, turned their eyes to the Gryffindor table, but Harry was not there.
"All right." Dumbledore clapped his hands. "It's getting late now. Last year, you would have been lying comfortably in bed by this time."
“Let’s eat!”
The opening dinner ended in a lively manner.
Ron was the busiest one, and people would always come to ask him why Harry didn't come.
He also never tired of explaining that Harry was attending the wedding of someone very important to him.
Harry and Hermione didn't return until the third day of school.
After returning to Hogwarts, they plunged into heavy study - the seventh year was a critical time for students at Hogwarts, and they had to face the Newts exam. Although most jobs in the wizarding world only depend on the number of OWLS certificates, there are better ones and it is easier to get better treatment.
At the end of October, the Quidditch match opened as scheduled.
The new Quidditch pitch gives students a much better viewing experience - that is if Harry doesn't catch the Golden Snitch within the first three minutes.
In November, Snape returned from St. Mungo's.
His complexion was as weak as ever. The time in the hospital only repaired his body but not his heart. Over the years, his mouth became more and more cunning and weird.
At Christmas, Hermione returned home after a long absence, bringing Harry with her.
Mr. Granger had a hard time liking Harry, but his attitude improved after Harry said that after graduating from Hogwarts, he and Hermione would study for an ordinary university degree.
After being drunk by Harry, he even wanted to pull Harry aside and call him brother.
The newts exam was not a big problem for Harry and Hermione.
As Dumbledore said at the beginning of the term dinner, this year is a very peaceful year.
By the time everyone was sitting in the auditorium, preparing for the end-of-school dinner.
Then I suddenly realized.
Nothing happened, but they felt empty inside, as if they had lost something.
