Chapter 112 The Mouse and the Witch

It seemed that all of a sudden, their closets were empty and the sounds of the little wizards playing were no longer heard in the dormitory.

But unlike at the beginning of the school year, there were some more pictures on the dormitory walls that had not been taken away. The Quidditch players on them were just like usual, constantly repeating the pitching movements, and then cheering and celebrating, as if they knew that their masters would be back soon.

Notices were distributed to every student, warning them not to use magic during the holidays.

As Hagrid was still at St. Mungo's, Professor McGonagall was temporarily responsible for leading them onto the fleet that would cross the lake.

On the Hogwarts Express, Kyle rejected the invitation of the Weasley brothers and did not go to the box with them to discuss the future path (how to earn Galleons next semester) and the development direction of the wizarding world (how to sell their products outside of Hogwarts).

The huge sum of one hundred Galleons had driven the Weasley brothers a little crazy. In the last few days of the semester, they did not even look for clues to the password to the Marauder's Map. They were always thinking about how to make more money.

Hopefully they can come up with some good ideas.

Kyle walked along the train and pushed open a compartment door at the end.

There was only one person inside.

Kanna curled up in her seat, staring blankly at the neat wheat fields outside the window.

Kyle sat opposite her naturally, "Are you still sad about Pochi?"

"Her name isn't Pochi."

After a long silence, Kanna said softly, "Her name is Ratri. She is my great aunt."

Kanna seemed to want to find someone to talk to, and she said a lot.

The countryside outside the window became greener and tidier. As the train passed through Muggle towns, Kyle gradually understood what was happening.

This is a very old story.

Eleven years ago, Connor's father accidentally said Voldemort's name after drinking and was killed by the Death Eaters who came.

Fortunately, Kanna and her mother were not at home at that time, so they escaped the disaster.

Then, shortly before school started last year, Connor's mother died in an accident. Since then, Connor is the only one left in the Prince family.

Although the surname Prince is not as famous as the Holy Twenty-Eight Families, it is also a pure-blood family with a long history. Naturally, this incident attracted the attention of many people.

Pochi…Ratri appeared at this time.

But when she came over, she found that Kanna's family's previous property had long been divided up by other pure-bloods.

So she set her sights on the Gringotts vault, hoping to use her Animagus to steal the key.

As long as she gets the key and finds a way to get rid of Connor, she can use her identity as Prince's distant relative to take the things inside.

Later, she really found it, but pure-blood families all have some hidden treasures, and the box containing the key to the Prince family's vault is one of them. It requires direct bloodline to open it.

But the problem is that she doesn't know the Imperius Curse, and she doesn't dare to find anyone to cooperate with her.

Just when she was worrying about what to do, the devastated Connor accidentally fell in love with the mouse that "had always been with her at home" and brought it to Hogwarts as a pet.

Needless to say, she began to try every possible means to steal Connor's money, hoping to get her to leave Hogwarts as soon as possible and get the key to the Gringotts vault.

Originally, her action was very successful. If nothing unexpected happened, Kanna would go home to get money during the Christmas holiday. However, unexpectedly, Kyle showed up and forcibly extended Kanna's life.

According to Connor, after being fed the truth serum, Ratley continued to curse the "meddlesome boy".

Kyle stroked his chin, thought for a moment and said, "So, I saved your life?"

"That's true." Kanna nodded.

After she spoke out what she had been keeping in her heart, she felt much better.

"Then you should thank me properly."

Kyle smiled and said, "And after you lost the rat, I also lost a large order of tonics."

Kanna took out a deformed lizard skin bag and placed it on the table. "It's still the same as before, one bottle per month until these are all used up."

The bag is filled with gold Galleons.

In addition to the original one hundred Galleons, those that were stolen before were also in there, adding up to about one hundred and fifty.

"What about your rat?"

"I can go to Diagon Alley and buy another one."

"Are you sure...you still want to keep rats?" Kyle gave her a suspicious look.

"What do you care about me?" Kanna seemed to think of the scene in the Forbidden Forest, and her expression suddenly became a little ugly, "Do you want it or not? If you keep saying that, I won't buy it!"

"Yes, but only a fool would not want a Garlon that's delivered to his doorstep!"

Kyle quickly put the bag on the table into his pocket.

"By the way, are there many people who covet your family's treasury like Bo... that rat?"

Kanna turned her head away and said nothing.

From the look on her face, Kyle knew the answer.

Come to think of it, the magical world is so small, and for every pure-blood family, there must be a lot of distant relatives who are not related at all.

Kona was unhappy after the exam, probably because she didn't want to go back and face these people.

"Well, I won't give you the tonic." Kyle tapped the table with his fingers and said thoughtfully, "But I'll help you solve these troubles."

"What do you mean?" Kanna tilted her head, not quite understanding.

"Just leave this matter to me." Kyle said calmly, "I promise that no one will bother you again during the summer vacation."

"Really..." Connor looked at Kyle suspiciously, obviously not believing it.

"Actually you don't have to comfort me, I can handle them."

"Just wait and see, I'm sure you won't be disappointed."

Kyle didn't explain and took out a bunch of snacks and put them on the table.

He is a little hungry.

There is nothing else to eat on the train, so if you don’t bring any food with you, you can only eat some snacks to fill your stomach.

At this moment, Cedric and Qiu suddenly pushed open the door of the box.

"Kanna, I've been looking for you."

Qiu sat next to Kanna and asked with concern: "How are you? Are you feeling better?"

"Much better." Kanna smiled back.

In fact, they had been here before, but they just didn't come in.

"Kyle, what are your plans for the summer?"

Cedric opened a packet of chocolate frogs and said, "My dad is going to take me to France. We can go together."

France? Kyle thought about it and thought it was a good place. He was also quite curious about Beauxbatons Academy of Magic.

It's just a little too far.

After thinking it over carefully, Kyle shook his head and said, "Maybe next time, Cedric. I have other plans for the summer vacation."

"That's a shame." Cedric said a little disappointedly, "I'll bring you a gift."
