For the next period of time, a professor would patrol the castle for a while every night after curfew.
And Filch was almost driven crazy by the rooster feathers that were everywhere. He had cleaned the house five times, but he still saw them every once in a while.
Sometimes it's at the corner of the corridor, sometimes it's next to the door frame...it's impossible to sweep it all.
Because of this, Filch became even more irritable, and he looked at everyone with a vicious look. Even if someone spoke a little louder, he would stare at them and scold them.
Although the students who were scolded were extremely angry, they had no choice but to avoid Filch as much as possible because his behavior was condoned by a Potions professor and any dissatisfaction would result in points being deducted.
Kyle has been a lot more obedient recently. Every day he goes to the library to do his homework and read books, and then returns to the dormitory on time. He has even put his night outings on hold.
Fred and George told him that Filch would linger on the second floor most of the night, and that the professors who made their rounds would often stop by the library to take a look.
It was too dangerous to copy the books at this time, so Kyle decided to wait until the storm had passed.
But some people obviously don't think so, like Harry Potter.
Ever since he figured out who those people in the mirror were, there was only one thought in his mind, which was to go back in front of the mirror, do nothing, and just sit there all night.
Ron had tried to dissuade him, but had failed... Harry wasn't listening to anything now.
It wasn't until the third night that he met Dumbledore in his room.
"I...I didn't see you, sir!" Harry stood there with cold hands and feet, saying nervously.
It was then that he remembered that the professors were conducting a strict investigation on night wanderings recently. What if Dumbledore thought that he was also responsible for what happened a few days ago...
When Harry thought about Gryffindor losing 200 points for this, he felt as if his internal organs were about to freeze into ice.
"It's strange that you have become short-sighted after becoming invisible," said Dumbledore with a smile.
Harry saw the smile on his face and was relieved. Fortunately, Dumbledore didn't seem to mean to deduct points.
He was like the Muggle uncle who often went out for a morning walk in Little Whinging, patient and gentle.
From him, Harry truly understood the purpose of the Mirror of Erised.
“This mirror allows us to see only the most urgent and intense desires of our hearts.”
Dumbledore said softly: "People waste their time in front of it, become obsessed with what they see, and are even driven mad.
Because they don’t know whether what they see in the mirror is real or possible.”
Harry lowered his head and was silent for a moment, then stammered, "Sir... Professor Dumbledore, have you also looked at this mirror?"
"Yes, and more than once." Dumbledore said with a smile: "I must say that no one can resist its magic, not even me... Oh no, there is one exception."
"Who is that person!" Harry asked curiously.
"A sophomore."
Dumbledore looked at the surprised expression on Harry's face, blinked and said, "Why, you can't believe it?"
Harry nodded.
If Dumbledore had said this about a famous wizard or a professor, he would have been able to accept it.
But a second-year student accomplished something that even Dumbledore couldn't do... How is this possible?
Dumbledore thought for a moment and said, "He had two opportunities to see the Mirror of Erised, but he left without hesitation each time."
"Professor Dumbledore, could that person have mistaken it for an ordinary mirror?"
"That's what I thought at first, but later I found that it wasn't the case." Dumbledore shook his head and said, "He knows about the Mirror of Erised and knows its function very well."
"Who is he?" Harry asked again. "Do I know him?"
Only this time, Dumbledore did not answer.
"That's enough for today, Harry."
He stood up and said, "Tomorrow the mirror will be moved to a new place. I ask you not to look for it again. It is useless to indulge in illusory dreams and forget about real life. Remember this.
Well, why don't you put on that wonderful Invisibility Cloak and go back to bed."
Harry left the room in confusion, and after returning to his bed in the dormitory, he was still wondering who the second-year student Dumbledore was talking about was.
But he didn't know many second-year students. Apart from a few from Gryffindor, the only one left was Kyle.
"Could it be him?" Harry thought uncertainly.
This continued until the next day.
During lunch that day, Connor suddenly nudged Kyle, who was sitting opposite her, and whispered, "Have you done anything recently, such as going to the stadium to practice Quidditch or something like that?"
"Of course not. I've been staying in the library these days and haven't been anywhere else." Kyle said puzzledly, "Besides, the rest of the team is not here, so it's useless for me to train alone. Why are you asking this all of a sudden?"
"Nothing, it's just that Harry Potter has been staring at you." Connor calmly pointed in the direction of Gryffindor and whispered, "I thought you had developed some new Quidditch tactics and he saw it."
"ah?"
Kyle turned around subconsciously and just saw Harry hurriedly lower his head.
"Not just now." Kanna continued: "I noticed that he has been peeking at you several times."
Kyle was shocked.
Could it be that Harry knew that he was also in the room on the fourth floor that day? No, that shouldn't be the case. I was using the Disillusionment Charm the whole time, so Harry definitely couldn't see it.
As for the possibility of guessing it, it is not very likely...he is not that smart.
"It's probably because of Quidditch," Kyle said calmly, "After all, we will play against Gryffindor after Christmas. He might be thinking of some tactics, so he treats me as an imaginary enemy."
"Thinking about tactics?" Kanna frowned and asked in confusion, "But isn't he a seeker? Does he need tactics too?"
"Maybe it's another trick that Wood came up with. Who knows?" Kyle said, "Don't worry about him... Aren't you going to find Snape for extra lessons today? How are your preparations going?"
"Everything is ready. Books, quills, parchment, ink..."
When it comes to tutoring, Connor instantly gets nervous. She doesn't even care about the Harry Potter she's peeking at. She asks quietly, "Kyle, do you think I should bring the cauldron with me?"
"That's not necessary." Although Kyle had never taken extra classes, he knew that the thing Snape had the most of was probably the crucible.
