The door of the dungeon classroom opened and closed again, and only Professor McGonagall and her two useless students were left in the room.
Her chest heaved violently as she stared at them like an angry hawk.
Finally, it was Ron who broke the silence.
"Professor, was that... a phoenix?"
"Yes, it's a phoenix!" Professor McGonagall didn't seem to want to say anything more. She just nodded and moved on.
"You'd better go to the school hospital, Weasley, your eye is swollen."
"Nothing." Ron quickly covered his eyes. "Professor, did Headmaster Dumbledore just say that the Sorting is over?"
"Yes, just now..."
"Then where is my sister!" Ron asked nervously.
"In Gryffindor too."
Hearing Professor McGonagall's answer, Ron said happily: "Oh, that's great."
Although I didn't see it with my own eyes, the results were still good.
But when Gryffindor was mentioned, Harry seemed to suddenly think of something and said quickly, "Professor, when we got on the car, school hadn't started yet, so Gryffindor shouldn't be deducted points, right!"
Professor McGonagall gave him a stern look, but Harry noticed that her lips were no longer pursed so tightly.
…
...It turns out that Harry's words are still useful.
Professor McGonagall did not deduct points from Gryffindor.
Although they were given detention and had to eat their meals in the dungeons, it was better than Harry had expected.
Because she had to return to the banquet, Professor McGonagall left soon.
After the door was closed again, Ron blew a long, soft whistle.
"How lucky..." He grabbed a sandwich that Professor McGonagall had brought him, "It's just detention, which is much better than being expelled, and I didn't get any points deducted."
"I thought so too." Harry grabbed a piece as well.
"By the way, how's your wand?"
"That's not my wand," Ron slurred through his mouth full of chicken and ham.
He pulled a rubber haddock from his pocket and said, "This is a trick wand made by Fred and George. They probably wanted to play a trick on me, so they switched my wand with it."
"It's a good thing they did," Harry said with a smile.
"Yeah...it almost broke when it hit the tree." Ron put the haddock back into his pocket with some relief.
"But you have to be more careful next time."
Harry took a sip of pumpkin juice. "I wish I could go to the party..."
"Professor McGonagall doesn't want us to show off," said Ron wisely. "She doesn't want people to think that driving a flying car to school is a glorious thing."
"But Kyle can go to the party..."
"It's different. He was brought to school by Phoenix, so of course he's worth bragging about." Ron shrugged. "If it were me, I could brag about it for a whole year... Anyone can do that."
"Are phoenixes rare?" asked Harry.
"It's very rare, much rarer than a dragon." Ron picked up the second sandwich. "Many people will never see them in their lifetime. I only saw them once on the Quidditch field. Remember? It was the game that was suspended."
Harry nodded...
While the two were discussing the Phoenix, Kyle was also brought to the hall by Dumbledore.
As soon as he entered the door, he couldn't wait to walk towards the Hufflepuff table.
Snape's face was uglier than Hagrid's rag along the way. He felt uncomfortable being stared at.
The party had already begun when Kyle arrived, but after seeing him, everyone stopped what they were doing, and then suddenly became lively again.
There were just some buzzing whispers in between.
But Kyle didn't care about that and went straight to the Hufflepuff table.
Cedric saved a seat for him.
As soon as Kyle sat down, he couldn't wait to ask, "Did you also come here in that flying car like Potter?"
"What kind of flying car?" Kyle said absentmindedly, "If it's possible, I really hope it's like this."
"That's no joke." Kanna frowned and said, "The car crashed into the Whomping Willow outside the castle. It is said that they were almost flattened."

There are never any secrets in Hogwarts. Within just the time it took to sort into the houses, Harry and Ron's deeds became known to everyone.
“It’s all the same…” Kyle muttered quietly, “Whether it’s the Whomping Willow or being treated as a Bludger… It’s all the same.”
"What Bludger..." Cedric scratched his hair, not understanding what Kyle meant.
"Since you didn't take that car...then how did you get here? Fred and George said you weren't at home on the first day of school."
"It was Fawkes," Kyle explained. "Dumbledore's phoenix. It brought me back to Hogwarts from Dorset."
Then, Kyle briefly recounted what happened to him at Newt's place, leaving the people around him stunned.
Wow, the sudden visit of the Phoenix, the giving birth of the Nangdu Leopard, and the Phoenix Apparating back to school... Kyle's experience in the past two days was more exciting than their two years.
"Phoenix..." Cedric exclaimed, "That must be great..."
Mikel and Ryan beside them nodded in agreement. They also wanted to get close to the legendary magical creature.
"Believe me, you will never like that feeling." Kyle waved his hands and said seriously.
He was still feeling uncomfortable and had no appetite despite a table full of delicious food. He just ate some pie and ordered a double lemonade.
However, the lemonade made by the elves was sour enough, but not bitter...the effect was slightly worse.
Seeing him like this, Cedric did not mention the Phoenix again, but took out a piece of parchment and said:
"We have received the letter you sent during the holidays. This is the new map we made on the train according to the method you gave us."
There was a hint of excitement in his voice, “It’s a lot more troublesome than directly copying it last year, but it’s very popular… We’ve already had fifty freshmen make reservations.
But those more expensive custom maps will need you to make them, after all, we have no experience in this area."
"How much do you need?" Kyle asked.
"Twenty-five." Cedric said with a smile, "A lot more people bought this kind of map this year, and they all chose us."
Another batch of new Galleons came in, and Kyle's mood finally improved.
He turned to look at the guest of honor table and found that Professor McGonagall had returned and was talking to the gorgeously dressed Gilderoy Lockhart.
But her expression was very serious and her lips were tightly pursed, and she didn't seem very happy.
