Chapter 294 Halloween Party

Halloween Eve, on the second floor of the castle.

Cedric sat in an empty classroom, covering his face and whispering, "Kyle, I don't think this is going to work, so let's just forget it."

They have been here for several days and have not gained anything during this period...but it cannot be said that they have gained something.

They became famous.

Almost half of the school knew that the top students in the third and fourth grades had been hanging around the library entrance for the past few days and their behavior was very strange.

I don't even know who spread the word that this was a new method of learning, using some ancient magical ritual to transform the knowledge in the library into one's own.

This is obviously nonsense, but there are still many people who believe it... and they believe it without a doubt.

Recently, more and more people have begun to gather at the entrance of the library, carefully imitating their movements.

You know what, they learned it quite well, and their movements were so synchronized.

Especially in the past two days, the library has almost become a tourist attraction, surrounded by people almost all the time.

But correspondingly, Madam Pince looked at them with increasingly unfriendly eyes.

Because that group of people seriously disrupted the order of the library, she tried to drive them away several times, but to no avail...

After all, Madam Pince couldn't stay outside all the time. As soon as she left, those people would come back soon.

Under such circumstances, it was impossible for her to have a good face towards the two culprits, Kyle and Cedric.

Cedric felt that they might not be able to go to the library any time soon.

Kyle also sighed and nodded in agreement.

The noise here has indeed been a bit louder recently. Today they were even blocked outside by the crowd and couldn't get close to the library.

I guess it won’t be long before the professors come to kick us out.

After leaving the classroom, the two lowered their heads, walked around the crowd and returned to the first floor, preparing to attend the Halloween party.

The auditorium has been newly decorated.

More than a dozen huge pumpkins were carved into lanterns, the smallest of which could accommodate two people. If there was an Thestral in front, it would definitely be a pumpkin carriage.

At the entrance of the Great Hall, Kyle also met the Gryffindor trio...

"You have to keep your word." Hermione was talking to Harry. "You said you would go to the Deathday party. You can't break your promise. Otherwise, Nearly Headless Nick will be very disappointed."

"But Hermione, I didn't agree."

Next to him, Ron said with a bitter face, "And Scabbers is gone. I still have to go look for him."

"Your rat?" Hermione frowned. "Didn't you always keep it in the dormitory?"

"That's right. It was there at noon today, but it disappeared in the afternoon."

Ron muttered quietly, "Neville must have forgotten to close the door when he left... I can't even imagine what would happen if Scabbers ran into Mrs. Norris in the castle. He'd get eaten."

"You don't have to worry about that at all," said Hermione. "Mrs. Norris would never eat a student's pet... in fact, she only eats what Filch feeds her."

"Are you going to the underground classroom?"

A familiar voice came, and the three were startled. When they looked up, they saw Kyle and Cedric.

"Hello."

Harry greeted the two of them, then nodded helplessly, "You're right, we're heading to the third underground classroom, which is where Nick is holding his Deathday party."

It can be seen that he is a little regretful now.

"I suggest you bring some snacks with you." Cedric reminded, "There's no food suitable for you there."

"But isn't that a party?" Hermione asked puzzledly, "How come there is no food?"

"It's a ghost party," Kyle corrected. "They like different things than we do."

But like Hermione said just now, he had already promised Nick, and the other party had just helped him escape Filch's punishment. It would definitely be inappropriate to go back on his word at this time. He had to go no matter what.

At worst... I can just leave early.

If they had enough time, they might be able to get back before the school party was over.

After a few more words, Harry and the other two left in a hurry. Before going to the dungeon, they had to help Ron find his mouse, so time was very tight.

Kyle and Cedric walked into the bustling auditorium.

Ten minutes later, the banquet officially began.

As previously speculated, Dumbledore did invite the Skeleton Dance Troupe to entertain the Halloween party.

Moreover, they didn't just give themselves a rebellious-sounding name, but were real skeletons...similar to ghosts, but a different species.

Accompanied by a burst of music and thunder and lightning on the ceiling, they appeared out of thin air in the space reserved in front of the guest of honor seats, and their appearance attracted exclamations from the little wizards.

Then the music changed and they started dancing to the rhythm.

At this point, Kyle also understood why Nearly Headless Nick acted so upset when he learned that the dance troupe was coming to Hogwarts.

Although it was somewhat scary to see these moving skeletons at first, that feeling quickly disappeared when they started dancing to the music.

It was the first time that Kyle saw elegance in the skeletons. Every movement they made was full of beauty and power.

The terrifying appearance and graceful dance steps... this huge contrast instantly caused deafening cheers to rang out in the auditorium.

It was from here on that the applause in the auditorium almost never stopped.

Especially when they were dancing the last dance, they chose a more cheerful and exciting music.

Magical Stuff

It is also the most famous song of the Weird Sisters.

Amid a series of cheerful drum beats, some little wizards couldn't help but jump along.

At first, only Fred and George, and a few Gryffindors were enjoying themselves, but as the music passed halfway, more and more people joined in.

Even Lockhart, who was sitting in the guest of honor seat, left his seat and started dancing. His teaching level was average, but he danced very well.

He also wanted to invite other professors to dance with him, but Professor McGonagall and Professor Sprout refused.

However, Professor Kerry Dibbaghi, who was in charge of Muggle Studies, readily accepted his invitation and stood up to join him on the dance floor.

Dumbledore was standing beside them, clapping his hands in time with a smile.

The song ended, but the cheerful atmosphere was still spreading in the auditorium, and the students shouted, wanting them to dance again!

Dumbledore stood up and motioned for everyone to be quiet.

“Dancing… is more powerful than any words,” he said with a smile, “but filling your stomach is just as important.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the empty plates on the table were filled with all kinds of delicious food.

Pumpkin roast chicken, grilled steak with pumpkin sauce, pumpkin pie, pumpkin soup, pumpkin pudding...

They are all pumpkins, and the main feature is to suit the occasion.

"Fortunately, we didn't go to the dungeon with Potter and the others..."

Cedric had just danced along, and he was still excited. He couldn't help but say to Kyle, "This Halloween party was really great. Do you think Headmaster Dumbledore will invite them again next year?"
