Chapter 323 The Four Giants, a Dialogue Across a Thousand Years

Kyle looked around the secret room.

Not only did Riddle disappear, but even on the pillar on the left, there was no trace of the Sharp Edge Shadowless Spell.

Everything that happened before seemed like an extremely real dream.

But the pain in his thigh and the diary in his hand told Kyle clearly...this was all true.

Kyle walked around and finally looked up at the Slytherin statue.

Although I don't know what happened, I should destroy the diary first...if the basilisk is still in it.

"Speak to me..."

Kyle spoke in serpent language, but the statue's mouth did not open as before. Instead, the snake-like statues on the pillars moved.

They came alive...swam down the pillar like real snakes and gathered around Kyle.

This familiar scene made Kyle feel unwell.

It was confirmed that he was dreaming!

I guess it’s because I didn’t attack him lightly just now, that’s why he didn’t wake up.

Kyle gritted his teeth and was about to pinch himself again...but suddenly a deep voice came from above the secret room.

"Okay, what do you want to say?"

"Who!" Kyle raised his head suddenly.

At the same time, as the sound appeared, the snake statues that came to life began to connect with each other, and soon formed a huge circular arch.

A layer of transparent drapery, like water waves and soap bubbles, gradually emerged and filled the archway.

After the curtain shook a few times, a middle-aged wizard in a green robe appeared.

He looked at Kyle and asked expressionlessly, "Didn't you want to talk to me just now?"

"You...I..." Kyle opened his mouth, but was too surprised to speak.

He thought of a name, but the idea was ridiculous.

"Salazar, I think you should be more proactive. The child doesn't know what's going on."

At this time, a second person appeared in the archway, a fat witch... She looked exactly like the portrait of Helga Hufflepuff in the common room.

"I must be dreaming!" Kyle muttered.

"You didn't, I assure you," smiled a wizard in a red cloak, the third person to emerge from the archway.

Following behind him was a witch with a cold face.

Four people, all together.

It took Kyle a long time to recover. He scratched his hair and said, "No, this is impossible..."

"I guess you must know who we are." said the cloaked wizard with a smile.

He also pushed the pointed hat on his head with his hand, as if giving Kyle a hint.

"Yes... and I am convincing myself to believe this unbelievable thing."

Kyle looked at the four people in the archway. "In fact, from what I know, you should be people from more than a thousand years ago... I mean, how could I possibly see you?"

“Because of time.”

Salazar Slytherin said calmly, "You awakened the basilisk, but failed to put it back to sleep. Because of the lack of a specific command, the basilisk instinctively destroyed the special time-turner in the statue."

He pulled a gold pocket watch from his pocket.

"It has two, one in the future and one in the past. If the future is damaged, then it will have some connection with the past."

Kyle nodded, not quite understanding.

What this means is probably that when he first summoned the basilisk, Salazar Slytherin already knew it a thousand years ago.

Kyle had never seen or even heard of such an incredible method.

This can be considered as predicting the future.

"But you... why didn't you show up at that time?"

Gryffindor laughed and said, "He did that to protect me, fearing that I would stew his precious basilisk. Unexpectedly, he discovered you a thousand years later by accident.

The time span is too long, and the connection between the converters alone is not enough to support us to communicate with you directly...

Unless you have also changed time and made yourself less "stable".

I think you must have been particularly persistent in using the time converter at some point in time..."

Kyle said nothing.

No wonder he always felt something was wrong before, now he figured it all out.

He didn't care about the certificates at all, but he took twelve courses, contrary to his usual practice... and applied for a time-turner twice...

"It's you!" Kyle suddenly realized, "Then those voices I heard at the beginning..."

"These are just some insignificant side effects," Gryffindor said, "Salazar originally thought you wanted to use the basilisk to do something bad, so his methods were a bit rough.

But it was mainly Rowena. She wanted to see how far you could go, so she used a very interesting magic... let's call it a Confusion Spell, using the stone statue in the castle as a medium to make you subconsciously hide the matter of the basilisk from others."

Rowena Ravenclaw looked at him indifferently, but did not refute.

In an instant, Kyle felt his mind become extremely clear, and all his previous doubts were resolved.

No wonder he always hesitated every time he wanted to tell Dumbledore about the basilisk. He didn't expect that this was also related to the Big Four.

After learning the truth, Kyle had a lot of questions to ask, but at this moment, the curtain suddenly flashed and the appearance of the four giants became much more blurry.

"We don't have much time." Helga Hufflepuff stepped forward and pushed Gryffindor away.

"Listen to me kid, I know you have a lot of questions, but they don't matter anymore. What you need to do now is to find a way to get time back on the right track, otherwise you will most likely be trapped in the time loop forever."

"Here's a piece of advice for you, boy," Gryffindor said, "Never touch the time-turner, or you will lose the protection of time."

"As compensation, I will help you smooth out the impact of this time-twister." Slytherin glanced at him calmly, "You can also take the basilisk away. The password to put it to sleep is... Sleep forever and wait for tomorrow's glory."

"Your Occlumency is terrible." Rowena Ravenclaw spoke for the first time.

Her voice was calm. "This technique is not as simple as you think. Do not slack off. When you find yourself standing still, put on my crown."

As soon as Ravenclaw finished speaking, the picture in the arch turned into a thick mosaic and then disappeared completely.

The snakes that formed the arch climbed back onto the pillars, and the chamber returned to peace.

Kyle stood there and let out a long breath.

He actually met the four giants of Hogwarts a thousand years ago and talked to them face to face.

It's not scientific... but it's magical.

Kyle wanted to think carefully about the bizarre experience he had just had, but he soon thought of what Hufflepuff had said.

From what she said, it seemed that she was not in the original time, and there was a high possibility that she would be trapped here forever.

Kyle didn't hesitate and ran out of the secret room immediately.

There was no Professor McGonagall or Harry outside the Chamber of Secrets... Kyle ran all the way to the end and returned to the castle through the pipe.

The sounds of talking and laughter echoed everywhere. As far as Kyle could remember, such a lively scene had not appeared for a long time.

He walked along the corridor and soon found two students walking together.

"Hello." Kyle came forward and greeted them.

"Oh, I know you, Kyle from Hufflepuff." One of them smiled and said, "Hello, I'm Terry Boot from Ravenclaw."

"Sally Ann Pox." Another said, "We are both second years in Ravenclaw."

"It's an honor to meet you." Kyle responded: "Excuse me, where are you going now?"

"To attend the Halloween dinner, of course."

The student from Terry Boot said, "I heard that Headmaster Dumbledore has invited a skeleton dance troupe. This year's Halloween dinner will definitely be exciting!"
