Chapter 393 A Solitary Journey

Hagrid's voice was very loud, and Kyle noticed that Professor McGonagall looked around nervously, as if she didn't want other students to hear these things that happened more than ten years ago.

Especially in the place where they were, Professor McGonagall paused for the longest time.

Kyle immediately pretended to be nonchalant and ate his meat pie.

"Hagrid, please! Keep your voice down," said Professor McGonagall.

But her reminder didn't have much effect.

Even though Hagrid had deliberately lowered his voice, he could still hear it clearly.

"He also asked me to hand Harry over to him, that scum... Fortunately, I refused, because I had Dumbledore's order to take Harry to his aunt and uncle's house..."

"Hagrid!"

Professor McGonagall glanced over here again, with a hint of annoyance in her voice.

"Kyle, let's go find Cho and Cedric."

At this time, Connor suddenly said, "They should have finished their conversation, and I also need to go to Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop to buy something."

"It seems we have the same idea." Kyle stood up and was about to take out the money when Kanna had already put two Galleons on the table.

"you……"

Kyle was about to say something, but Kanna pulled him out of the bar without saying anything.

When they were on the road, Kanna smiled and said, "You treated me to coffee before, this time it's my turn to treat you."

"No……"

Kyle thought for a while and said, "Actually, what I mean is that you paid too much. Those things are one Galleon and five Sickles. Why did you give two Galleons?"

"Ah?" Kanna was a little dazed. "Why didn't you say so earlier?"

"You have to give me a chance." Kyle spread his hands.

Just when Connor was hesitating whether to go back again, Cedric and Qiu happened to run over from not far away.

"Hey, where did you go just now!"

Qiu asked immediately with dissatisfaction after seeing Kyle and Connor.

They were just talking about whether or not to explore the Screaming Shack, but when they turned around, they found that there were only two unfinished cups of coffee left on the table, but the two people who came with them were gone.

"I went to almost every store, but I couldn't find you guys," said Cedric.

"We're right here, the Three Broomsticks," Kyle said. "I guess you've never been here."

Cedric was stunned for a moment. He had never been here before.

"But didn't you just have coffee?"

"Too sweet." Kyle shrugged. "Butterbeer is more to our liking."

Cedric pursed his lips, as if that was indeed the case... Strange, why didn't he notice how sweet the coffee was just now.

After being interrupted like this, Kanna was too embarrassed to ask for the remaining change, and followed them forward with a distressed look on her face.

Later, they found Fred and George in Zonko and went to the Shrieking Shack together.

Going there to explore was something we had planned a long time ago.

But when they actually arrived, they found that this place didn't seem as interesting as the legend said.

When they opened the big lock on the door, they found that it was just a room that had not been lived in for a long time.

The wallpaper was peeling off, there was a thick layer of dust on the floor, and the furniture was all broken, as if someone had smashed it.

"Legends are indeed unreliable."

Fred kicked a broken stool away in disappointment. "Those residents must have made up the legend of howling here at night in order to attract more tourists."

"From what I can see, this is just an empty room that has not been occupied for a long time."

"Could it be a ghost?" Qiu asked.

"Hogwarts is the place with the most ghosts. Have you ever seen them howl?" Fred said, "And ghosts can't destroy these furnitures."

He picked up a broken stool leg from the ground and knocked it twice on the ground.

"I guess someone must have deliberately caused trouble here to make those strange noises."

After looking forward to it for several days, they didn't expect it to be so disappointing in the end. The mediocre Screaming Shack also made them lose the desire to continue shopping.

After leaving here they went straight back to the castle.

Kyle walked in the back and put the lock back on the gate.

It was still early and the castle was quiet.

Filch stood in the entrance hall, staring at them... or rather, at Fred and George.

When they came out of Zuko, their pockets were bulging, obviously filled with a lot of good stuff.

Filch came over.

"Wait a moment, I need to check..."

Before he could finish his words, Fred and George suddenly sped up, sprinted past and disappeared into the hallway.

"Stop!" Filch shouted angrily. "Stop right there!"

With Filch's roar, the quiet castle immediately became lively.

When it was time for dinner, everyone got together to discuss holiday plans.

"What did you say?!" Cedric looked at Kyle and said in disbelief, "You're not spending Christmas at Hogwarts this year?"

Kyle had stayed at school for Christmas for the past three years, and Cedric thought it would be the same this year.

To this end, he wrote letters to his father for a month and put his name on the list of students staying in school two days ago.

He originally wanted to give Kyle a surprise, but he didn't expect that this guy would actually come home this year!

You did it on purpose!

"Yeah." Kyle naturally didn't know what he was thinking, and said calmly: "I can't always spend Christmas here."

"I……"

Cedric was about to speak when Qiu, who had sneaked over, suddenly said, "What a shame. I thought I would have someone to keep me company."

"You're not going back this year?" Kyle asked.

"Yes." Qiu nodded, "My father wrote to me two days ago saying that they would be away for a while during Christmas, so I would have to stay in school."

"I see." Kyle nodded, then looked at Cedric, "What did you want to say just now?"

"Oh, nothing."

Cedric calmly took a sip of pumpkin juice and said, "I just wanted to wish you a happy Christmas. Also, I chose to stay in school this year, so I can't go back with you."

"You're staying at school too?" Kyle raised his eyebrows. "Did Mr. Diggory agree? Or did you make the decision yourself just now?"

"I signed the detention list two days ago," Cedric said.

"Me too." Kanna laughed and said to Qiu, "We can go to the library together to do homework during the holidays."

Kyle suddenly realized that the situation during the holidays this year seemed to be the opposite. Except for himself, it seemed that everyone else had chosen to stay in school, including Fred and George.

They were working on a new quick-acting candy to get out of class, and if they went home they would be easily discovered by Mrs. Weasley.
