Chapter 397: Tiara and Horcrux

At the dining table, Nico pushed a plate of bone-in steaks in front of Kyle and said with a smile, "I almost forgot to ask, why did you come to see me... It can't be that you want to spend Christmas with me."

“That’s the main reason,” Kyle said.

"Nothing else?"

"No." Kyle shook his head.

“If that’s the case…” Nico glanced at him and said half-jokingly, “Then I won’t care about you anymore.

"You know, it takes a long time to find the right glyph, and then I might not leave that room for weeks."

"Uh..." Kyle patted his head, "Oh, now that you mention it, I actually remembered a little thing."

"Go ahead." Nico said with a smile, "As long as you don't do what Albus did and also take out a time converter from a thousand years ago."

"No, no, it's just a small matter..."

Kyle placed a box on the table, put on his anti-curse gloves, and took out a rusty crown from it.

"I found this in Hogwarts Castle and wanted to see if there was any way I could repair it."

When Nico saw the crown for the first time, he didn't pay much attention to it. He just thought it was a broken alchemical item that Kyle had found in Hogwarts.

After all, in that thousand-year-old school, nothing would be surprising.

With the intuition of a master alchemist, Nicol quickly discovered something strange about the crown.

His expression became serious, as if he had thought of a possibility.

“Is it possible that…”

Nico suddenly became nervous and asked subconsciously: "What is this..."

"It's nothing, just the Ravenclaw diadem." Kyle said casually.

"The crown that has been lost for a thousand years?" Nico couldn't help but stand up.

For almost all alchemists, the Ravenclaw Diadem, which can increase wisdom, is something that only exists in legends, just like the Philosopher's Stone.

Nico already has the Philosopher's Stone, but he has never seen the crown in person. This is one of the few regrets in his long life of 600 years.

I didn't expect it had always been at Hogwarts.

Albus actually told him that he had never seen him before, and he was not even as good as a teenager.

Nico complained in his mind.

But now there is another problem

The Ravenclaw diadem was so worn out that it looked like junk from a thrift store.

Logically speaking, a magical item of this level shouldn't be able to rust...

Nico couldn't help but move closer and take a closer look at the crown.

His expression became more and more serious.

"Is this... a Horcrux?"

"Yes." Kyle nodded. "When I found it, it had already been made into a Horcrux."

Now, even with Nico's upbringing, he wanted to curse.

Even the despicable Herpo wouldn't be able to make Ravenclaw's diadem into a Horcrux.

Nico tried to touch the crown, and he didn't know what he did, but a black mist suddenly surged out and swirled around the crown.

There were faint whispers coming from all around.

“Bang!”

The house-elf Tata instantly Apparated in front of Nico and pointed at the black mist nervously.

Kyle put it back into the box before continuing:

"I came here this time to ask if there is any way to remove the soul fragments attached to it."

Nico responded softly.

He didn't ask Kyle where he found the diadem, or whether Dumbledore knew... He just said with interest, "What do you think?"

"If we just want to destroy the Horcrux, there are many ways..."

Kyle said, "Basilisk fangs, Fiendish Fire, Dementor's Kiss, or simply using the Killing Curse can dissipate the soul fragments inside.

"But all of these methods will cause more or less damage to the crown itself."

"I'm glad you thought of that."

Nico smiled and said, “When an item is made into a Horcrux, it and the soul fragment placed inside it become a whole… or the entire crown is his soul.

Now I understand why that person chose the crown as a container. For most people, even if they knew it was a Horcrux, they probably wouldn't be willing to destroy it.

In this respect, this man is more shrewd than the despicable Helbo."

"Are you sure you can fix it?" Kyle asked, "If you can, I just happen to have the basilisk poison, or I can use the Dementors.

They are in Hogsmeade, and there is only one Ministry of Magic staff guarding them. As long as we act quickly, it shouldn't be a problem to catch two of them."

Nico looked a little strange.

He understood the basilisk's poison. Dumbledore had said before that the basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets was now Kyle's, so there was no problem in releasing some poison.

But catching Dementors... isn't this approach a bit too wild? Can you catch that thing just by saying so?

"Ahem, no need. I have a better way." Nico waved his hand. "Although it may take a little longer, it can ensure that no damage will be caused to the crown."

"What method?" Kyle asked curiously.

"An ancient potion for the soul." Nico said calmly, "I once saw it on a slate book in order to prove that Horcruxes do not belong to alchemy. Coincidentally, this potion was also invented by the despicable Herpo."

"Despicable Helpo... a potion from a thousand years ago?"

Kyle frowned and asked, "After such a long time, can we still find the ingredients for the potion?"

"No problem." Nico smiled, "I have used special methods to store a lot of ancient potion ingredients. Even if one or two are missing, I can always find suitable substitutes."

"But kid..." He turned his eyes away from the box and looked at Kyle calmly, "You seem to have a deep understanding of Horcruxes."

"Well, because of an idea I studied for a while."

Kyle did not hide it, "I'm going to..."

"Oh, you don't need to tell me."

Nico interrupted Kyle again, "I believe you can make the most correct judgment, and you must have your own reasons for doing so.

I'm not blaming you, but reminding you... Do you remember what I said to you when we were in Paris?

If you need it, you can always go to my private library again, where there are many books of various kinds..."

Nico blinked, and while Kyle was distracted, he quietly took the box away.

By the time Kyle noticed it, he had already put the things into a bag. His movements were so smooth and efficient.

Of course, Kyle was originally planning to hand the crown to him and would definitely not take it back, so Nico's little action was really unnecessary.

In addition to the crown, he was also ready to start looking for other Horcruxes.

Kyle wasn't sure if he could stop Voldemort from resurrecting, but he could at least set a small goal first... such as getting all of Voldemort's Horcruxes before he was resurrected.
