Chapter 438: The Escaped Dementors

Kyle's words caused the entire principal's office to fall into silence.

Dumbledore had seen many big scenes, but now he suddenly found that he didn't know what to say.

The same goes for the portraits on the wall.

In the portrait, a thin wizard looked at Kyle hesitantly, with the expression on his face constantly changing.

He also has a portrait in the Ministry of Magic, and he often goes there to take a look and find out the latest news in the wizarding world.

Therefore, he had some understanding of Cornelius Fudge... But no matter how hard he thought, he couldn't connect the man who was keen on scheming for power and expanding his network with what Kyle had just said.

As for Phineas, it was more direct.

"Albus..." He said to Dumbledore in front of Kyle without any hesitation: "Check it out quickly. I think this kid must have been cast under someone's Imperius Curse."

Phineas also knew about Fudge. In his own words... "Millifit was bad enough, but he's even worse."

Millifett was the Minister of Magic one hundred and fifty years ago. During her tenure, she passed many unnecessary laws... such as the angle at which wizard hats are worn.

At that time, wizards had to spend twenty minutes checking whether there were any problems with their clothes every time they went out.

But after meeting Fudge, Phineas suddenly felt that Millifett was not bad. At least she passed a lot of practical bills every year.

As for Fudge, he has been in office for several years, and the only thing he can say a few words about is last year's "Muggle Protection Act".

"Phineas... I don't think anyone in this school can use the Imperius Curse on students." Dumbledore said calmly.

"Then how come he started talking nonsense?" said Phineas.

"I can find someone to check him out," another witch also said.

Delise Devante, the headmistress of Hogwarts two hundred years ago, was also a famous healer. Her portrait still hangs in St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries.

Dumbledore shook his head, ignoring their words and looking at Kyle with interest.

"I knew you could always give me some surprises... Would you mind telling me what you think?"

"If the Minister of Magic was someone else, such as Barty Crouch, it would indeed be difficult for Sirius to overturn the case, but with only Fudge... this matter will be much easier.

"But before that..."

He looked at Sirius, "Do you know of any confirmed Death Eaters who have not yet been caught?"

Sirius shook his head in confusion.

Most of the people he knew had been his neighbors for twelve years, and the rest had all been cleared of all charges... As for whether there were any who slipped through the net, he didn't have time to investigate.

"I do have some information about this." Dumbledore suddenly said, "Two Death Eaters have changed their identities and have been operating in secret, but they are not important figures."

"That's enough," Kyle said. "As long as we can be sure it's a Death Eater."

"Why are you asking that?" Sirius asked curiously.

"Give me a gift." Kyle said as a matter of course, "They did you such a big favor, you should at least bring something."

Dumbledore thought for a moment, then seemed to have thought of something, and his eyes became brighter and brighter.

"I knew you could always surprise me!" he said again.

The next day, Dumbledore left the school, taking Sirius with him.

Harry came several times to inquire about the situation, but he didn't see anyone, which made him unable to eat.

But Kyle ate very happily and even his appetite increased.

When Harry asked, he just shook his head, indicating that he didn't know where Sirius and Dumbledore had gone.

Kyle really didn't know.

He wanted to go with them, but Dumbledore wouldn't take him.

But this is also good...

Two more days passed and they still hadn't returned.

Kyle got up early that day, and after breakfast, he made an excuse that he had something to do and went to Hogsmeade through the statue of the hunchbacked witch on the fourth floor.

Today was the agreed day, and he was going to look for the Dementors to get something.

Kyle searched for a long time before he finally saw a familiar black robe between Hogsmeade and the school...

It was a Dementor, but he wasn't sure if it was the one from that night, after all, all Dementors looked the same to him.

Kyle was about to go over and ask, but just as he approached the Dementor, it flew away quickly like a cat whose tail was stepped on.

Kyle was stunned for a moment, then quickly chased after it. There was only one Dementor nearby, and he couldn't let it run away.

Although the Dementor can fly, it seems unable to leave this area and is soon caught up by Kyle...

Kyle was a little surprised. This Dementor was smaller than the one he had seen before, and its robe was more torn. The hooded cloak was almost turning into a jacket.

"Why are you running..." Kyle said, "I want to ask you something..."

The Dementor said nothing, but tightened the few remaining tattered robes on his body.

"Where is your leader..." Kyle thought for a moment and added, "He's not from the Ministry of Magic."

The Dementor stretched out his hand and pointed in the direction of the castle. Because he was missing a piece of his sleeve, his arm looked extremely ugly under the sunlight, with patches of black and white, as if he was sunburned.

"Over there in the castle?" Kyle asked again.

The Dementor nodded.

After getting the answer, Kyle immediately walked towards the castle, but before leaving, he threw a piece of dark blue cloth to the Dementor and asked it to mend its sleeves as a thank you for helping him find the way.

This was prepared by Kyle as a souvenir for the Quidditch World Cup, but there was no black, so he had to make do with dark blue.

But the Dementors probably wouldn't mind such a small thing.

Hogsmeade was not far from the castle, and after a few minutes, Kyle saw the castle gate.

There are two Dementors guarding there.

But there was no need to ask this time. After noticing Kyle, one of the Dementors immediately floated over.

"You should have seen that Dumbledore didn't cause any trouble for you...so what did she say?" Kyle asked straight to the point.

The Dementor was also straightforward, "The basement storage room of the old house... the portrait... behind the third wall brick..."

"Which old house?"

"I don't know... She didn't say..."

"Okay." Kyle nodded and held out his hand, "Where's the thing I gave you before?"

The Dementor reached out and pulled out an envelope and an empty vial.

In exchange, Kyle gave it some chocolate.

"These are things that can make people happy. Consider them my reward for buying the information. You can take these back to her... maybe you can both get an extra meal." Kyle said with a smile.

The Dementor didn't quite understand, but he understood the snack... so he put away the chocolates.

After doing all this, Kyle walked into the school gate.

However, he did not go back to the castle directly, but found a secluded place and burned the envelope with his wand.

During this process, a faint whispering sound came from the envelope.

"Gringotts... the vault..."

Then Kyle took out the empty bottle.

“Shattered into pieces!”

The bottle exploded into a pile of fragments, mixing with the ashes of the envelope.

"Clear water like a spring!"

"Clean it up!"

After two consecutive spells, the ground instantly became clean as new, without any trace left.
