Looking at the owl that suddenly appeared in front of him and the letter in the owl's claws, Kyle didn't care too much.
I have been receiving various letters recently. It would be strange if I didn’t receive any one day.
But it was worth Mr. Weasley running back on his way to work... Could it be the meeting held by Dumbledore that MacPhail mentioned?
Kyle took the envelope, pulled out the letter, and read it curiously.
Then his face changed.
This letter was not from Dumbledore but from the Ministry of Magic, and the content was so outrageous that Kyle even thought he had read it wrong.
Or maybe the people at the Ministry are crazy.
"What's this."
Seeing that Kyle had remained silent, Fred and George came over curiously and read the letter.
"We have received reports that you performed a spell in the Leaky Cauldron at 10:36 this morning.
This behavior violates the "Law on Reasonable Restraint of Underage Wizards". Please go to the Ministry of Magic on the morning of August 12 to explain the situation, otherwise we have the right to expel you.
Mafalda..."
"No, am I seeing things?"
Fred couldn't help but shout, "Or did I read it wrong? I need to be warned for using spells in the Leaky Cauldron?"
"Are they crazy?" George couldn't accept it. "Or is there a Muggle hiding in the Leaky Cauldron?"
They remembered very clearly that although the so-called "Restraint Act" did not allow underage wizards to use magic outside of school, there was a prerequisite, which was that there were Muggles around when using magic.
If this condition is not met, basically no one will care, let alone in the Leaky Cauldron.
Basically, all those who can appear there are wizards. Even if there are Muggles, they are parents of students. Everyone knows that wizards exist, so how can it violate the "Restraint Act"?
"Watch your words, George." Percy stepped forward and made a show of straightening his collar.
"Anyway, underage wizards are not allowed to use magic outside of school. This is a rule. It has nothing to do with where you are."
"Percy...how about you move your room to the garden? I feel like you and the goblins will get along well."
George glared at him in dissatisfaction. "The Leaky Cauldron is right next to Diagon Alley, with so many wizards gathered there. How can the Ministry of Magic say that it was Kyle who used magic instead of others?"
"That's because... the Ministry of Magic must have its own way." Percy stammered, "In short, Minister Fudge will not be wrong. Since Kyle has done something wrong, he must accept the punishment..."
"Shut up, you big-headed boy!" Fred said angrily, "Do you dare to say that you have never used magic at home?"
"I don't……"
Before Percy could finish his sentence, George snorted.
"I remember you used the Flying Spell to find the glasses we hid."
"Secure the envelope with a sticking charm so we can't see it."
"And the repair spell..."
"Illumination spell..."
"The banishing spell..."
Various names kept coming out of Fred and George's mouths, and when they got stuck occasionally, Ron and Ginny would fill in the gaps.
And every time they said something, Percy's face became uglier. In the end, he could only shut his mouth and went back to his room without saying a word.
"The annoying guy is finally gone," said Fred. "He has become more and more annoying since he got promoted."
Then he looked at Mr. Weasley, "Dad, what is going on."
"Yeah," George said. "That's why Kyle was warned for using magic in the Leaky Cauldron."
"I don't know either." Mr. Weasley shook his head. "This is what Mafalda told me. She said someone insisted that Kyle used a spell outside of school and asked her to send a warning letter."
"Who is it?"
Mr. Weasley tapped his fingers on the table and hesitated for a moment before continuing, "There is one more thing."
"What?"
"Kyle is not the only one going to the Ministry of Magic this time. Harry is also going there."
"Harry? He used magic in Diagon Alley too?"
"It wasn't Diagon Alley, it was Little Whinging," said Mr. Weasley. "And it was done in front of three Muggles, using magic."
Ron and Ginny stood up at the same time.
"No, I'm going to ask him." Ron said anxiously, then turned and ran upstairs.
"What's more troublesome is," Mr. Weasley sighed, "this is not the first time Harry has used magic in front of Muggles, so Kyle only went to ask questions, but he has to stand trial."
"Trial?" Ginny blanched. "Harry, will he be expelled?"
"No, they won't!" Mr. Weasley shook his head firmly. "They can't expel Harry, and Dumbledore won't agree to that."
"Sorry, kids, I might have to leave for a while. Oh, and Kyle..."
Mr. Weasley's tone softened. "Don't worry. Like I said before, they can't be sure whether it was you or someone else in Diagon Alley who cast the spell, so you'll be fine. You'll just go through the motions."
After saying this, Mr. Weasley left the Burrow in a hurry.
Soon Ginny returned to her room, leaving only Kyle, Fred and George in the living room.
"You...really used a spell?" Fred asked tentatively.
Kyle nodded.
He admitted this, and in order to prevent anyone from eavesdropping when Rita Skeeter broke the news, he did use an ear-blocking charm, but the question was how the Ministry of Magic knew about it.
Could it be that someone saw it?
But even if you saw it, there's no need to make such a fuss. When did the people in the Ministry of Magic become so dedicated.
Kyle felt that there was definitely something wrong here.
Rita Skeeter snitched? "No, it shouldn't be." Kyle immediately rejected the idea.
It's not that she believes in Rita Skeeter's character, but that she doesn't dare. Whether it's the identity of Animagus or Fudge's secret, it's not something that can be cleared up with just a few words.
Even for her own sake, Rita Skeeter would never tell on the secret.
Could it be because of Voldemort... Fudge knew that he was on Dumbledore's side? This was a bit possible. He wrote a lot of letters during the holidays and never hid anything. It was normal for Fudge to know.
But wasn't it a bit stingy of Fudge to come and cause trouble for him just because he was talking?
Kyle tossed the letter aside.
"It's okay, Kyle." Fred comforted him, "There are many wizards in Diagon Alley. As long as you don't admit it, they definitely don't know that you have used magic."
"Yeah." George agreed, "Besides, the Leaky Cauldron is full of wizards. Even if they use magic, it won't violate the Statute of Restraint. They can't do anything to you."
"Yeah, I know." Kyle nodded.
Having said that, he was indeed disgusted by this method. The situation with Harry was probably related to the Ministry of Magic.
Mr. Weasley just said that he used magic in front of three Muggles, probably the Dursleys.
They should have investigated and knew that the Dursleys hated Harry. Not only would they not testify for him, they might even put the blame on Harry.
Even though Harry protected them.
"Really... the Forbidden Forest is so big that there are all kinds of birds." Kyle muttered softly.
