When Kyle came out of the Department of Mysteries, the Ministry of Magic had just started working, but Diana was not in a hurry to let Chris take Kyle away.
"Give me your wand," she said.
Although Kyle was a little confused, he still took out the wand from his pocket and handed it over.
Diana took it and put her index finger on the tip of the wand. Then, several red sparks flashed at the tip of the wand.
I don’t know what Diana did, but her face looked really bad, which could be seen from the way Chris moved back little by little.
Finally, Diana couldn't help it and raised her hand to hit Kyle on the head.
"Use less Fiery Curse in the future," she said. "This curse is difficult to control, and once discovered, the punishment is not much lighter than the Unforgivable Curse."
Although it didn't hurt, Kyle still covered his head and howled twice, while defending himself:
"They are all Death Eaters. If I didn't use the Fiery Fire Curse, they would have."
"That's true..." Diana said, "But as long as they haven't been completely exposed, their identities are not Death Eaters. But it is a fact that you used the Fiendfyre Curse, and it can be easily found out."
"Pre-flashback spell." Kyle muttered. He had a feeling that this inquiry was not as simple as it seemed.
"It seems you have figured it out." Diana returned the wand to Kyle and said meaningfully, "You should take the box with you. Be more vigilant."
…
Diana then returned to the Department of Mysteries, while Chris took Kyle in the elevator all the way up to the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.
As the two of them walked through the crowded corridor, Chris said, "We still have a while until the agreed time, let's go get something first."
This place is completely different from the Department of Mysteries. The corridors are filled with cardboard boxes and miscellaneous items, making it look extremely crowded.
"Sorry, let me pass." A man rushed over from behind, holding a box in his hand.
"Bob?" Chris called out to him. "Didn't you go to Cornwall with Amos?"
"Oh, Chris, I was just looking for you," said the worker named Bob. "We found this over there."
He pushed the box forward. "Amos and I thought it was just an ordinary farm chicken, but it actually spit fire."
As he was speaking, a small flame shot out from the box and quickly burned a hole in the cardboard box.
But fortunately it was just a flame.
"Clear water like a spring!"
A stream of water was poured onto the carton, extinguishing the flames in time.
Chris opened the box and took a look, then checked it with his wand.
"There are obvious traces of magic runes... Let's go find someone from the Law Enforcement Department. This behavior is a serious violation of the Animal Breeding and Experiment Prohibition Act. Let the striker bring the person back."
"Okay, I'll go right away." Bob hurried back, but he came back again after a while.
"What should we do about this?" he asked, lifting the box in his hand.
"Send it to the forest. This kind of situation must not be left outside."
Bob ran to the end of the corridor, pushed open a door and walked in.
"That's the room where the experimental animals are stored." Seeing Kyle's curious look, Chris explained, "There's a real forest inside, which is used to raise all kinds of confiscated magical animals."
"Oh..." Kyle nodded and asked, "Are there many such things?"
"Not a small number." Chris sighed, "Sometimes a wizard will have a flash of inspiration and can cause us a lot of trouble."
Seeing Chris' helpless look, Kyle subconsciously thought of Hagrid.
He seems to be one of the "eureka" guys, like the Exploding-Tailed Skrewt last school year, but Chris probably doesn't know about that yet.
Chris, who served as director for a period of time, seems to have been reinstated.
"Who is the current director?" Kyle asked.
"I'm not sure. The candidate has not been decided yet." Chris shook his head. "But there was news a few days ago that Senior Undersecretary Umbridge might temporarily take over the position of Director."
Chris spoke calmly and did not show any dissatisfaction with his "demotion".
"Okay, sit down for a while," he said. "I need to find the materials I prepared yesterday."
Kyle found a sofa and sat down, looking around the office.
There were files piled everywhere, a few spiked sticks placed haphazardly in a corner, and piles of parchment next to them almost reaching the ceiling.
“Ah, I found it!”
At this time, Chris took out some parchment from the drawer of the table.
Kyle leaned over to take a look and found that it contained the content he copied from the "Law of Restraint".
“It’s always good to be more prepared,” Chris said.
Then they left the office and took the elevator to the Ministry lobby again.
Kyle came to find Professor McGonagall. Dumbledore had said before that she would be waiting here, but Kyle and Chris walked back and forth here several times and did not see any trace of Professor McGonagall.
"Maybe she has already gone to the Law Enforcement Division." Chris glanced at the time. "There are still ten minutes left. We have to go there too."
"Okay," Kyle said. He did not continue to look for Professor McGonagall, but went to the second floor with Chris, where the Law Enforcement Department was located.
But things changed here.
The original location they agreed to meet was Amelia Bones' office, but the clerk in charge of leading the way took him to another room.
Looking at the team of nearly thirty people in front of him, Kyle knew that his previous feeling was correct.
If it was just the Law of Restraint, how could so many people come...even Scrimgeour, the head of the Auror Office, came.
"Theodore Nott is dead."
Scrimgeour didn't even exchange pleasantries. As soon as Kyle came in, he ordered the door to be closed and asked expressionlessly, "What do you think about this?"
"I'm sorry, but I don't know who you're talking about," said Kyle. "And I'm here at the Ministry to explain the use of magic in the Leaky Cauldron, but your question is clearly irrelevant to that."
"That's right, Scrimgeour." Chris stepped forward, stood in front of Kyle, and asked with a gloomy face:
"What are you doing? The notification we received before was about the abuse of magic, not cooperating with you in investigating that Nott."
"This is the minister's request, Chris." A witch next to Scrimgeour suddenly said, "Someone said that he saw Theodore Nott die at the hands of this child, and he used the Fiendish Fire Curse, so we must investigate it thoroughly."
"Who is it?" Chris asked.
Amelia Bones looked behind her subconsciously.
At the same time, three people stood up from the last row.
"Walton McNeill... Igor Karkaroff, Lucius Malfoy..."
Chris read out their names one by one, his expression becoming increasingly gloomy.
"They are witnesses." Amelia Bones said, "Given Mr. Karkaroff's identity, we have to take it seriously. Chris, I hope you understand."
