Chapter 613: Stop pretending, let’s show our cards

Umbridge's reaction was quicker than Kyle had expected.

Friday afternoon was the sixth grade Defense Against the Dark Arts class, and before Sirius was taken away, his original plan was to learn new spells.

But now the professor has changed.

When Kyle and Connor walked into the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, Umbridge was already sitting behind the podium, still wearing that ugly, fuzzy pink cardigan.

The whole class was silent. Kyle didn't say anything either. He just found a seat in the back row and sat down.

However, even if he sat further back, he could not avoid being troubled by Umbridge.

The first is some hard and fast rules.

She required everyone to add "Professor Umbridge" at the end of their answers to her questions.

Like, 'Yes, Professor Umbridge' or, 'No, Professor Umbridge'.

Everyone did as she was told, except Kyle, who acted as if he hadn't heard her and ignored her.

Umbridge noticed, so unsurprisingly, she called out Kyle's name.

"Why don't you do what I ask you to do?" She said in a coquettish voice, "Do a few insignificant honors make you so arrogant that you can ignore the professor?"

"I'm sorry, Ms. Umbridge," said Kell. "If the Order of Merlin, Second Class, is considered 'insignificant', I'm sure you have a lot of them. So, how about showing them off?"

Umbridge's face darkened instantly... If she had the Order of Merlin, why would Kyle need to tell her? She would have put it on her clothes long ago! "No way, you don't have it, do you?" Kyle said in an exaggerated tone, "You don't even have such an 'insignificant' honor. How can you be a professor? Or did you give it to Principal Segallon?"

As soon as these words came out, Kyle immediately became the focus of everyone.

Everyone felt incredible. In their impression, Kyle had always been a typical Hufflepuff.

He was gentle and polite to others... Why did he suddenly change now? It was as if he had become a completely different person.

After all, not even the most reckless Gryffindor would say something like that.

Umbridge was also shaking with anger.

"How dare you!" she screamed. "How dare you talk to me like that."

"Oh, well, you don't have any Segallons," Kyle said casually. "Maybe you use Sikor, which will make your wallet look fatter."

Umbridge's face turned blue and red, and then she seemed to think of something.

"Well, I admit that you do have some honor to be commended."

Her voice returned to its previous tone, fake and affected.

"But that doesn't mean you can lose your common sense.

"Dumbledore was very bad at not correcting you, although that's understandable.

"I think everyone here knows that he has become increasingly irrational recently, always saying some ridiculous things, right?"

No one answered.

But they also knew that Umbridge was talking about what was reported in the Daily Prophet...that is, what Dumbledore said about the resurrection of the You-Know-Who at the end of the last school year.

"I think you think so too." She looked at Kyle again, with a malicious glint in her eyes, "You think what Dumbledore said is ridiculous, and he himself is becoming more and more confused."

"Dumbledore is not confused." Someone couldn't help but say.

"In my class, students must raise their hands before speaking. You are..."

"Justin Finch-Fletchley."

Umbridge's eyes rested on him for a moment, then turned to Kell again.

"So what do you think?"

"I think..." Kyle spread his hands, "He is at least much smarter than you."

"So you think what he said is right?"

"Of course," said Kell. "I believe Professor Dumbledore, and I believe he has seen... Voldemort."

There was a sudden gasp and suppressed screams in the classroom...

"Twenty points off for Hufflepuff!"

Umbridge showed a successful expression and said triumphantly, "As punishment for your nonsense, there is detention, tomorrow morning at 8 o'clock, in my office.

"Also, I have to remind you that if you continue to spread such absurd remarks, the Ministry of Magic will take back your medal on behalf of the Order of Merlin."

“Ah, I’ll keep that in mind,” Kyle said.

Then, in everyone's incredulous gazes, he pushed the door open and left the classroom.

Now, Umbridge on the podium smiled even more happily. She took out a piece of parchment from her handbag, wrote something on it, and sealed it with magic.

"Kanna..." Mikel asked dazedly, "What happened to him? Could it be that someone drank the Polyjuice Potion and pretended to be him?"

"No." Kanna shook her head. In fact, she was also a little confused.

Time passed little by little, and finally the get out of class was over.

Connor was the first to rush out of the classroom and found Kyle playing with the Niffler in the Hufflepuff common room.

She ran over and sniffed carefully around Kyle.

"What are you doing?" Kyle couldn't help but ask.

"Look for the smell of Polyjuice Potion," Connor said. "Well, no..."

Then she sat down in an armchair nearby.

"What on earth happened to you just now?"

"Find a way to get her to put me in solitary confinement." Kyle said, "I have prepared several plans, but I didn't expect it to be so easy to accomplish."

"You want Umbridge to put you in detention, so you provoke her?" Kona was even more confused.

"Okay." Connor said. After knowing that Kyle did it on purpose, she was slightly relieved. "No wonder, I've never seen you so..."

She paused and didn't continue.

"You mean mean, right?" Kyle said with a smile, "I learned this from Professor Snape, and it worked very well, didn't it? She got angry immediately.

"But this is normal. After all, when it comes to being sarcastic, all the professors and students in the whole school combined are not as good as Professor Snape."

"What are you talking about?" Kanna glared at him unhappily.

"But this is the truth." Kyle muttered quietly, but seeing Kanna's angry look, he quickly explained: "Don't get me wrong, the 'sarcastic' I mentioned here is actually a compliment, really."

Seeing Kyle's sincere expression, Kanna reluctantly believed what he said.

"But I don't understand why you want to be put in solitary confinement."

"Because it's more convenient." Kyle said vaguely.

the next day.

In just one night, the news that Kell had slammed the door and walked out of Umbridge's class spread like wildfire, which was surprisingly fast even by Hogwarts standards.

"You really left halfway through?" Fred asked as they sat at the Hufflepuff table.

"No respect for Umbridge at all?" George asked from the other side.

As they spoke, there was a gleam of admiration in their eyes that had never been seen before.

Yes, worship.

Whether it was when Kyle received the Hogwarts Special Contribution Award or the Order of Merlin, they were just happy.

This is the first time I feel so excited as today.

"You all know?" Kyle asked casually.

"Huh..." George laughed strangely. "Do you think this is a question you answered in class?"

Slamming the door and leaving in the middle of class would have made anyone a hot topic in Hogwarts, let alone Kyle, who has always been an excellent student.

"Have you taken the Defense Against the Dark Arts class?" Kyle asked back.

"No." Fred shook his head.

"You'll know why I did this when you finish this class," Kyle said.

He checked the time, stood up and said, “I have to go to detention.

"By the way, Cedric, I'm not sure how long this detention will end, so the Quidditch tryouts later..."

"It's okay, just leave it to us." Cedric said, looking at Kyle with some concern.

"It's okay, it's just a detention, no big deal." Kyle said.

Then he left the hall and came to Umbridge's office on the fourth floor. He knocked on the door and a sweet voice came from inside.

"Come in."

Kyle pushed the door open and walked in.

After having six owners, this office has now taken on a different style.

Everything had a lace tablecloth on it, and there were several vases of dried flowers, all placed on individual little cushions.

A set of decorative plates hangs on the wall, each with a large, brightly colored cat wearing a different bow.

"Good morning." Umbridge looked at him with a smile.

"Good morning." Kyle responded enthusiastically. He walked to a sofa nearby and sat down. "Do you have black tea without sugar? Thank you. I think the apple pie I had for breakfast was a bit too sweet."

Umbridge was stunned for a moment, as if she had not expected Kyle to be so bold. He was clearly in detention, but he still wanted tea.

Who does he think he is, a waiter at the Three Broomsticks? Umbridge's fake smile was a little bit unbearable. She enjoyed the feeling of being respected and flattered, but Kyle didn't take her seriously at all.

And this is true whether it was at St. Mungo's a few years ago, at the Ministry of Magic before, or now.

"There is no black tea here. Even if there is, I won't give it to you." Her voice gradually became sharp and contained a hint of malice.

"Because you spread evil, vile, sensational lies, now, I am going to punish you by making you write a few sentences... not with your pen, of course, but with this."

She took out a long, thin feather pen with a very sharp tip.

"If I'm not mistaken..." Kyle said, "There seems to be some kind of dark magic on this."

"Dark magic? No, no, this is just a punishment for you." Umbridge's face showed that disgusting smirk again.

"No matter what excuse you use, Professor Dumbledore will not approve of you using dark magic items in school."

"Dumbledore can't control the Ministry of Magic!" Umbridge said viciously, "And he won't know. At least no one will know what's going on here until your punishment is over."

"I see..." Kyle nodded.

He slowly took out his wand and waved it casually.

Next second.

“Bang!”

Umbridge seemed to be slapped by an invisible giant. She flew backwards uncontrollably and hit the table next to her with a dull thud.

The vase on top staggered and fell to the ground, breaking into pieces.

It was only at this time that Kyle said with a smile: "Really, why didn't you tell me earlier? Since no one knows, why would I waste my time talking to you?"
