Chapter 646 Letter to Newt

"What did she mean by that?"

After Umbridge left, Hagrid looked at Kyle in confusion and asked, "Also, why did you just tell me to trust the Ministry of Magic? You should have trusted Dumbledore, you know."

"Yeah, I know." Kyle nodded, "But if you want to avoid trouble, you have to say it now."

"Just a witch from the Ministry of Magic, what trouble can it be?" Hagrid didn't seem to care at all.

"Umbridge has the right to fire professors," Kyle reminded him. "If she feels a professor is unqualified, she can fire him."

"You're just joking, Kyle, this is impossible..." Hagrid said nonchalantly, "Except Dumbledore, no one can arbitrarily expel a professor from Hogwarts, not even Fudge.

"Also, no matter what you say, I will not betray Dumbledore, even if it's just pretend. If she wants to cause trouble for me because of this... then go ahead."

Kyle was not surprised either, he had guessed that Hagrid would say that.

As Dumbledore's biggest fan, Hagrid never shied away from this fact, even though it would cause him more trouble.

Just as I was thinking about it, I heard footsteps outside again, and this time the sound was very messy, obviously there was more than one person.

"Bang, bang, bang!" There was heavy knock on the door.

"Hagrid, it's us!" Harry shouted excitedly outside.

Hagrid looked equally happy. It felt really good to have so many people come to visit him right after he returned.

He stood up and opened the door.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione's heads popped out from the crack in the door.

"Hagrid, when did you get back?"

"Just half an hour ago." Hagrid said with a smile: "Okay, come in and warm up."

Three people squeezed in from outside.

"We just saw Umbridge," whispered Hermione. "She didn't say anything drastic... Oh, Hagrid, are you hurt?"

She also noticed that Hagrid's eyes were swollen into slits.

"Could it be that toad Umbridge who did it?" Ron said angrily. "Now she dares to attack the professor?"

"No, it has nothing to do with her. I was injured accidentally." Hagrid covered his eyes with his hands again. "Anyway, she just came to take a look and left. She didn't say anything else."

Hermione frowned suspiciously.

According to their previous speculation, Umbridge would definitely show off her power and her position as Senior Inquisitor in front of Hagrid... How could she just take a look and leave?

But Harry didn't think so much. After hearing that Umbridge didn't embarrass Hagrid, he didn't continue the topic. Instead, he said in a regretful tone: "If I had known you would come back today, I wouldn't have sent Hedwig to Professor Grubbly-Plank for treatment."

"Hedwig? What's wrong with it?"

"It's injured. Someone attacked it. We think that person was trying to intercept the letter Hedwig brought."

"It's Filch."

The sudden sound startled the three of them, and when they came to their senses, they noticed that there was another person in the room.

"Sorry, Kyle," Hermione said quickly, "I didn't realize you were here."

"It doesn't matter." Kyle shook his head, indicating that he didn't care.

"Wait a minute, you just said Filch..." Harry remembered what Kyle said and wondered, "Did he attack Hedwig?"

"Yes," said Kyle. "He tried to take the letter away from Hedwig in the Owlery."

"I just know it!" Harry looked irritated. "Who else would be interested in my letter except him and Umbridge?"

"This is against the rules!" Hermione was also very angry, "and intercepting owls privately is a violation of Wizarding Law. I must tell Professor McGonagall about this!"

The three of them were arguing, but Kyle didn't respond. He just kept rummaging through his own box.

Soon, he found a bottle of daikon essence and a handful of fresh daikon leaves.

"Apply dittany essence to the wound and apply the leaves to the eyes. It will heal in about two days. If you want to get better faster, you can go to the school hospital. Madam Pomfrey is much more professional than me."

"Thank you, that's enough," said Hagrid. "I don't want too many people to know that I'm injured yet."

"By the way, Hagrid, what on earth happened to you?" Harry asked again.

"I said, it's okay." Hagrid looked at Kyle and said stubbornly, "Sit down and have a glass of water."

"Nothing? Forget it," said Ron. "Look at the way you look."

They obviously didn't believe Hagrid and continued to question him.

Hagrid looked at Kyle for help, but received only a helpless look in return.

Harry and his friends were notoriously curious, and even if he helped to fool them this time, they would definitely find a way to get more information out of Hagrid later.

So Kyle had no intention of helping, and after giving the healing medicine to Hagrid, he got up and left.

The weather was getting colder and colder, and everyone preferred to stay in the warm common room. Even though it was the weekend, the venue was very quiet and no one could be seen.

Of course, if it snows, that’s a different story. After all, it’s still fun to have a snowball fight with friends.

Kyle braved the cold wind and made his way back to the Hufflepuff common room.

The moment the wooden barrel door was pushed open, several people sitting at the door shivered subconsciously, but fortunately the warm fireplace quickly dispelled the cold air brought in.

Cedric was playing wizard chess with Mikel. When he looked up and saw Kyle, he immediately waved and asked, "Where did you go just now?"

"Forbidden Forest," said Kyle. "Hagrid's back."

"Hagrid's back?" Cedric said in surprise.

"Well, about an hour ago," Kyle said, "If you go now, you can have lunch there."

"Forget it then." Cedric shook his head and said with a smile, "Most people can't accept Hagrid's taste. I think it's better to go after lunch."

"That's fine too."

"Want to play a game?" Cedric pointed to the wizard chess in front of him.

"Sure..." Kyle said, "But I have something else to do, so I guess I'll have to come back later."

"good."

"See you later," Kyle said and went back to the dormitory.

Mikel and Ryan were also in the lounge, and there was no one in the dormitory at this time.

That's just right.

Kyle walked to the table in front of the window, sat down, picked up a quill, and quickly wrote a letter.

"Laton..." Kyle shouted out the window.

A minute later, Laton reluctantly landed on the windowsill, its head facing outside and only its tail facing the dormitory. It was obvious that it was still angry with Kyle.

"Don't be angry." Kyle shook the envelope in his hand, "This is much more important than the previous letter. Only you can deliver it."

The feathers on Rodan's wings trembled, and then he finally turned his head.

"This is for Newt. Other owls won't be able to find it there." Kyle rubbed the fluffy feathers on Rodan's head and said in a low voice, "Go quickly and come back soon. Remember to bring the reply letter with you when the time comes."

Laton let out a proud cry, then opened his mouth, grabbed the envelope, spread his wings and flew away.
