Chapter 660: Hagrid’s doubts, will Dumbledore take any action?

When Kyle left the tea room and returned to the second floor, he heard an angry roar coming from the ward where Sirius was.

"If you guys don't shut up, I'm going to hang you upside down from the ceiling in the corridor!"

Then, the three of them were kicked out of the room by Mr. Weasley.

Ron stood in the corridor, looking at the locked door and muttered softly: "Really, we just said a few words, and we didn't disturb him..."

"But we have disturbed him." Hermione said fairly, "We woke him up twice, and it is only right for Sirius to kick us out..."

"But you can't blame us." Ron curled his lips, "The room is so small, it's useless no matter how hard we try to lower our voices."

"Okay, we can just come back tomorrow," said Harry. "It's vacation time now, so we can come anytime... Where's Mr. Weasley?"

"I don't know. We should go outside to find Bill. He wants to go back with us."

While they were talking, Kyle had already gone downstairs.

Because he was too lazy to explain again how he came from Hogwarts, he did not choose to go to the corridor to greet the three people, but went straight back to the waiting room on the first floor and left St. Mungo's along the corridor.

Outside, Mr. Weasley was talking to Bill.

"How about letting me drive when we go back..." He stared at Sirius' new car, his eyes full of eagerness to try.

Bill naturally wouldn't refuse and handed him the car keys directly.

Mr. Weasley took the key and looked up just in time to see Kyle walking out of the department store window.

"Have you finished talking to Dean Sasia?" he asked.

"Well, we're done talking."

Speaking of this, Kyle felt his chest twitch... Seven thousand Galleons, it was gone in the time it took to drink a cup of tea. It would be a lie to say that he didn't feel bad.

But Mr. Weasley didn't know what was going on. He pointed at the car and said, "Come on up first. I'll go call Harry and the others, and then we'll go back together."

"No, Mr. Weasley." Kyle shook his head and took out a teapot from his pocket. "I just asked Dean Sassia to help make a portkey that leads directly to Hogsmeade."

"Hogsmeade?"

"Well, I signed the detention list, so strictly speaking, I sneaked out this time..." Kyle glanced at the time and said quickly, "Sorry, Mr. Weasley, there is still one minute before the portkey takes effect. I have to hurry."

"Ah, all right," said Mr. Weasley, opening the door. "Want to come inside? It's safe enough here."

Kyle originally wanted to go to the phone booth, but after hearing what Mr. Weasley said, he didn't refuse and got into the car directly.

It was already seven o'clock when Kyle returned to Hogwarts, just in time for dinner.

Not many people chose to stay on campus this year, only about thirty or so, so the layout of the auditorium was changed, leaving only a table in the middle, and all the students who stayed on campus, as well as the professors, sat together to eat.

Fortunately, Kyle did not see Umbridge at the table, so she must have left school.

This is really good news. If she were here, Kyle might not be able to eat.

Dumbledore was also away, and Professor Flitwick led them in singing Christmas carols and, as was customary, pulling out a streamer.

There were some small things in the streamers and firecrackers, such as hats of various shapes and wizard chess. Professor Flitwick took out a leather cowboy hat and put it on happily.

Kyle also opened a hat covered with sequins, but he didn't wear it himself. Instead, he prepared to give it to Sniff as a Christmas gift.

To Sniff, this shiny thing is simply a priceless treasure.

Soon, the table was filled with delicious food.

Connor spread some orange marmalade on the toast and whispered, "How is Professor Black?"

"The runespoor venom has been cleaned out of him," Kyle said. "I think he should be able to be discharged from the hospital in a few days."

"That's good."

"By the way, when did Umbridge leave school?"

"It should be this morning, or maybe last night." Kanna thought for a moment and said, "I haven't seen her all day today."

"You probably won't see her in the next two weeks." Kyle smiled.

"Yeah." Kanna also smiled, "I have to say, this is simply the best Christmas gift."

Although there were few people staying in school, the dinner was no quieter than usual. While eating dessert, Professor McGonagall conjured up twenty dancing snowmen, making the auditorium look like a Christmas ball, which was quite novel.

After dinner, the snowmen turned into ice sculptures, frozen in various directions of the auditorium.

Everyone applauded and returned to their respective common rooms amid laughter.

The next day was Christmas.

When Kyle woke up that morning, he found that the gifts almost filled half of the room.

Because he got up late, Kyle was busy until noon before he finally finished opening all the gifts.

Most of them were books and candies, which was the same every year. He couldn't remember how long it had been since he last went to Honeydukes Candy Store.

Kanna gave him chocolate, which looked homemade. Kyle plucked up the courage to try a piece and found that it tasted quite good.

And there seemed to be some kind of magic potion in it. After taking it, the drowsiness he felt when he just got up disappeared instantly, and he became much more energetic.

It's a bit like a sobering potion, but the taste is a little different. It's a very pleasant vanilla flavor.

Other than that, Mrs. Weasley gave me a Christmas jumper, which was grey and very comfortable.

Hagrid gave him a fur wallet with fangs on it, with a note saying it was anti-theft and that his Galleons would be safe in it.

What he said was not wrong. The only problem was that the wallet did not recognize anyone. Even if Kyle wanted to take the money out, he couldn't. His belongings were stuck in it and he couldn't get them out.

Professor Snape sent a bottle of air.

Dumbledore's gift was a woolen scarf.

In addition, Dean Sasia also sent a Christmas gift... a bottle of Felixir.

After seeing the dazzling golden bottle, Kyle suddenly lost interest in the gifts that followed.

"If I had known, I should have saved this for last." Kyle muttered.

After opening all the presents, Kyle walked out of the dormitory and went to the auditorium with Connor.

The ice sculptures were still there, and they were now wearing gorgeous dress robes, which were also made by magic and looked like the masterpiece of Professor Flitwick.

After Christmas lunch, Connor prepared to go to the library. According to her previous plan, she had to read at least three books about potions during this Christmas holiday.

Kyle left the castle alone and came to Hagrid's hut.

I don’t know if it’s because of Umbridge or for some other reason, but Hagrid has been in a bad mood recently.

When Kyle arrived, he was sitting next to the pumpkin patch, cooking a pot of sticky stuff with an empty bucket next to him. He must be preparing food for some magical creature.

"Merry Christmas Hagrid, what is this?" Kyle greeted him and asked with a frown.

Hagrid seemed lost in thought and was startled by Kyle's voice.

"Merry Christmas, Kyle." He looked up and said, "Just some meat, offal, and grits stew." His tone sounded a little guilty. "Well... prepared it for Fluffy. He likes it."

"Oh, I see." Kyle nodded. No matter how strange the food was, it would instantly become reasonable as long as it was related to the three-headed dog.

That magical animal is really not picky about food and never cares about how it looks.

Kyle conjured himself a chair, sat down next to Hagrid and asked, "What's wrong with you lately?"

"What?" Hagrid asked. "I'm fine."

"Then why were you ten minutes late for last class? You were never late before, and..." Kyle glanced at Hagrid's face, "and how did you get injured?"

"No, nothing." Hagrid lowered his head quickly and tried to cover his eyes with his hands, "I just... accidentally bumped into a tree."

"You hit it really accurately then." Kyle said with a smile, without exposing his lie full of loopholes.

"Well... actually it's because of that annoying Umbridge." Hagrid stammered:

"She told me that she would check my attendance again after the holiday. If she was still not satisfied, she would keep me in school for further investigation."

Hagrid's tone gradually became smoother. He angrily grabbed a handful of wood and added it to the fire. Bubbles immediately rose from the pot of unknown object.

"But how can she be satisfied... I mean, she always finds excuses to give me low grades in my classes, no matter what I do, even if I talk normally, she will think I am intimidating students.

"That's ridiculous, she obviously did it on purpose, just because I said I would always support Dumbledore!"

"Of course she is, that's what she came to Hogwarts for," said Kyle.

Hagrid sighed and didn't want to talk about this topic anymore.

"Why didn't you go home during the holidays?" He changed the subject, "I thought you would spend Christmas at Sirius's house like Harry did."

"I'm going to do something..." Kyle said, "but it has to be done in school, and without Umbridge. I need your help."

"No problem." Hagrid said without thinking, "Just tell me what you need me to do."

"Don't worry." Kyle waved his hand, "Before that, I want to ask you something."

"What's up?"

"It's the school owl. Has anything unusual happened recently?" Kyle said, "Like getting injured, or losing mail or something like that."

"How did you know?" Hagrid said angrily, "Although no letters were lost, an owl was injured, and more than one.

"I don't know which bastard did it. If I catch the guy who attacked the messenger, I will definitely teach him a lesson."

"Great." Kyle said subconsciously.

"What? You're wrong." Hagrid frowned and said seriously, "These owls were attacked. It's very likely that someone wanted to steal the letters they delivered. This is not a good thing."

"Then just let him watch. No need to catch it, just throw it to him." Kyle smiled and said, "I have a plan that may make Umbridge leave Hogwarts."

Hagrid didn't even bother to cover his eyes and looked over immediately.

"Tell me what I can do."

"It's simple. Go to the Owl Post Office and send a letter to Hogwarts from there."

"What did you say?" Hagrid thought he had misheard and couldn't help asking, "You want me to go to the Owl Post Office and send a letter to Hogwarts?"

"That's right," Kyle said. "Not only that, you also have to tell the owl to make a big circle when sending the letter, so that it looks like it's coming from different directions."

Hagrid was even more confused. He had no idea what Kyle's purpose was.

But Kyle didn't explain. He just took out a thick stack of parchment and handed it over, saying, "This is the letter you want to send. Just write your name as the recipient."

Hagrid took the parchment and couldn't help but glance down.

It was strange that even though they were all from Kyle, the handwriting on each letter was different.

Hagrid looked at the first letter, which was written in a very sloppy handwriting.

"I am happy to accept your invitation, Albus. How about we meet at our usual place, and then we can talk in detail about the matter you mentioned earlier."

"Is this a letter to Dumbledore?" thought Hagrid.

But wasn't Kyle in school? If he wanted to discuss something with Dumbledore, couldn't he just go to the headmaster's office? Why bother writing a letter?

Hagrid looked at the second letter.

The handwriting on this one is much neater, completely different from the first one, as if it was written by someone else.

"Professor Dumbledore, I have relayed your message to my uncle, and he has expressed his full support for you.

"Besides, my friends and I have the same idea and really hope that the Christmas holiday will pass quickly."

Did Dumbledore make any new decisions? How come he didn't know? Also, when did Kyle get another uncle... I didn't hear that Chris had a brother.

Hagrid continued to flip through the pages and the handwriting changed again.

"You should have done this a long time ago, Albus. I'll see you on the twentieth."

Any action on the 20th?

The more Hagrid looked, the more confused he became, and he felt all kinds of doubts flooding into his head.

He now felt as if he was under a spell of oblivion and could not remember anything.

"Don't look at Hagrid, I made all this up." Kyle patted Hale's arm and said, "And it's not for you to see."

Hagrid looked up, feeling strangely relieved.

"You are writing to Professor Dumbledore?"

"No." Kyle shook his head, "It's for people who want to read the letters.

"Hagrid, when you send a letter, remember not to choose an owl that is too diligent. It's best to choose one that will drop the letter and run away when it encounters danger."

"It's not easy," said Hagrid. "Owls are always good at their job. At least I've never seen anything like what you say."

After finding that he could not guess Kyle's thoughts, Hagrid was too lazy to think about it... He just did whatever Kyle said.

"It's okay, just ask, just in case." Kyle said.

The two discussed some details, mainly Kyle telling Hagrid what to do, until a faint smell of burnt food came out of the big pot next to them, and Hagrid hurriedly put out the fire with earth.

"Kyle, I have to go take lunch to Grawp now. How about we continue this afternoon?" Hagrid glanced in the direction of the Forbidden Forest. "I promise to be back as soon as possible."

"Glop?" Kyle raised his eyebrows. "Didn't you just say that this was prepared for Lou Williams?"

Hagrid snapped his mouth shut and looked at Kyle in panic.

"Yes, it's Fluffy," he stammered. "Glop... I gave the middle head a new name."

"Oh, I see," said Kyle carelessly. "I thought Grawp was the name of a giant."

"Of course not..." Hagrid felt even more guilty, his hands unconsciously clutching his coat, "How can there be a giant in the Forbidden Forest, right?"

“You’re right.” Kyle smiled and said, “Then go ahead, that’s all I have to say.

"Oh, and the most important thing is, when you send a letter, remember to choose encrypted mail, so that the post office can add a small anti-Muggle magic to the letter, the kind that can only be opened with a spell.

Kyle pulled a handful of Galleons from his pocket and handed them to Hagrid, "Here's the postage."

Hagrid suddenly looked unhappy.

"What are you doing?" He said unhappily, "Take it back quickly. I just helped you post the letter. Do you think I would take your money?"

Kyle wanted to say something, but Hagrid's expression became increasingly ugly.

"Okay then." Seeing that he was starting to get angry, Kyle could only shrug and put the Galleon back into his pocket.

"That's right." Hagrid smiled and said, "I'll go to the Owl Post Office this afternoon, don't worry."

"Don't worry." Kyle said, "It's best to deliver two or three letters a day, not too many."

"No problem." Hagrid agreed readily.
