Chapter 686 Voldemort's Suspicion

No one expected that the prophecy ball would be so fragile. It was shattered to pieces just after it fell down one step.

The same goes for Harry, he always thought that thing was very sturdy, otherwise he wouldn't have put it in his pocket so easily.

He sat on the ground, staring blankly at the place where the prophecy ball was shattered.

A milky white figure with eyes that seemed to be magnified many times rose into the air.

Harry always felt that she looked familiar. Those iconic bulging eyes, why did they look so much like Professor Trelawney from Divination... If she wore a pair of glasses, they would be almost exactly the same.

Then, the figure spoke in a whispering voice, "At the moment of deciding the outcome, there will be a new..."

The figure's voice was too soft, and Harry only heard this. The rest of the words were drowned out by the collisions, shouts and screams around him.

At the same time, he was dragged to another place by someone.

"Get out of the way..." Harry heard Sirius' anxious voice.

He soon found out why.

Two consecutive spells of different colors fell on the place where he had been sitting before. If Sirius had not pulled him away in time, he might have been finished.

"Thank you." Harry stood up quickly.

"Don't be in a daze." Sirius stared at Bellatrix in the distance with a serious face and reminded him without turning his head.

Bellatrix also saw the crystal ball being shattered.

"No!" she screamed, casting spells at Harry like crazy.

Voldemort demanded that the crystal ball be taken back intact, but now everything was messed up, which Bellatrix couldn't accept. Now she just wanted to kill Harry... maybe this could make up for her mistake.

Bellatrix, who was casting spells madly, did not notice that a ball of dragon flame had appeared above her head.

A Death Eater nearby quickly grabbed her and dragged her towards the nearest door without saying a word, and fled the room.

Before the door was closed, everyone could still hear Bellatrix's heart-wrenching roar, "I will kill him, I will kill him... Master, I have tried my best, please don't punish me!"

Their escape behavior also triggered a series of chain reactions.

The Death Eaters instantly lost the courage to continue fighting and scattered. Those who were strong or lucky all fled the room at the first opportunity, while the rest were blocked by Sirius, Lupin and others who reacted quickly.

"Haha, I'm so lucky, I won the jackpot."

Sirius came over carrying a Death Eater.

It was none other than Antonin Dolohov, who had just tortured Moody, so this was truly a jackpot.

Sirius seemed to have used a full-body binding spell. He was now stiff and glaring at everyone fiercely.

But no one present cared.

"I think we should keep him and let Alastor deal with him when he wakes up," Lupin said.

He was also holding a tall Death Eater in his hands.

"It's MacNeill," said Kingsley. "He's from the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. I should have expected him to join the Death Eaters."

At this point, the battle was basically over.

After realizing that they could no longer escape, the remaining Death Eaters almost scrambled to throw away their wands and surrender.

Two minutes later, Lou Williams staggered back to Kyle and plopped down on the ground, shaking off a cloud of dust and gravel.

Although the three-headed dog can ignore most spells, it cannot withstand spells cast by multiple wizards at the same time.

There were more than a dozen Death Eaters here just now, and Mr. Weasley and Lupin couldn't keep an eye on so many people.

There were charred marks all over Lu Wei's body, and there was a long and narrow wound on the left side of his head, with blood dripping onto the ground.

"Thank you for your hard work, Lu Wei." Kyle touched its chin. Seeing this, the other two heads immediately came over. None of the three heads gave in and they almost started fighting.

Norbert also fell back to the ground. Perhaps because he could fly and had long-range attack capabilities, his situation was better than Lou Williams, and he seemed to be a little unsatisfied.

"It's amazing..." Lupin looked up and couldn't help saying, "I never thought that I would see a three-headed dog and a dragon in the Ministry of Magic.

"And what I can't understand is that they are so... docile."

Subconsciously, Lupin wanted to step forward and smooth the charred fur of the three-headed dog, but as soon as he stretched out his hand, a huge head turned and roared at him.

Lupin immediately withdrew his hand in embarrassment. He decided to take back what he had just said. This big guy was not docile at all... at least not to anyone other than Kyle.

Others gathered around as well.

Harry found the cat-leopard in the crowd, walked over and bowed sincerely, saying: "Thank you..."

The first time Bellatrix used the Killing Curse on him, it was the cat-leopard that kicked him and he dodged it... Harry was so familiar with that feeling.

The cat leopard nodded slightly as a response.

Then Harry turned to look at the three-headed dog and the dragon. He felt that this combination looked familiar.

"This...could this be Fluffy, the one Hagrid raised?" Harry asked tentatively.

The three-headed dog is not a common magical creature. So far, he has only seen it once in his first year.

It was raised by Hagrid, and later used by the headmaster to guard the Philosopher's Stone...but in his impression, the three-headed dog at that time was much smaller than the one in front of him.

"Yes, it's Lu Wei." Kyle said, "Just in case, I happened to borrow it from the Forbidden Forest some time ago."

Kyle patted Lu Wei's chin again and opened the box.

"Okay, go back, and I'll prepare a feast for you tomorrow."

Lu Wei immediately started drooling. Norbert next to him glanced at him with disgust and was the first to get back into the box.

It's too cramped here and it's very uncomfortable. It's more spacious in the box.

Kingsley stared at Kyle's box without blinking, and after the two big guys went in, he suddenly asked, "What is your relationship with Mr. Newt Scamander?"

“He was kind of my first teacher of magical animals,” Kyle said.

"A good relationship?" Kingsley asked.

"Yeah, not bad." Kyle nodded.

Kingsley smacked his lips. No wonder he always felt that this box was inexplicably familiar. It seemed that there would be one more person on the Auror's list of people that he would focus on in the future.

It's not that he doesn't trust Kyle. Even Dumbledore trusts him unconditionally, so he is no exception.

But the problem is that this has nothing to do with trust... Let's put it this way, even if it was Dumbledore himself, the Aurors would not let him run around with a dragon.

Not to mention that there were more than just dragons in Kyle's box. Whether it was a cat, a leopard or a three-headed dog, they were all extremely dangerous 5X-level magical animals, and any one of them running out could cause a huge panic.

If he could help conceal it now, he would be risking his future career.

"Oh, don't get me wrong." Kyle cleared his throat and said, "I borrowed these. The three-headed dog is from the Forbidden Forest of Hogwarts, and the cat and leopard belong to Newt. I will return them when the time comes."

"Oh..." Kingsley responded expressionlessly.

"Well, let's get out of here," said Mr. Weasley, looking around. "Where are the injured people?"

"It's here too." Kyle patted the box, "Don't worry, it's safe."

Everyone turned their heads at the same time, showing a very complicated expression.

Mr. Weasley's mouth twitched, as if he believed what Kyle said.

In a way, that box is indeed safe...if you can accept having a three-headed dragon as your neighbor.

"What should we do with these Death Eaters?" Kyle asked, "Why don't we put them in boxes? It will be easier this way."

"Uh, no need, leave it to me." Kingsley said hurriedly.

As if he was worried that these Death Eaters would eventually become snacks, he quickly conjured up a long rope and tied up all the Death Eaters whose wands had been confiscated. Then he waved his wand again and easily dragged the Death Eaters forward.

Seeing this, Kyle didn't say anything else.

Fortunately, the Death Eater who had escaped earlier was not waiting outside.

However, everyone did not take it lightly. Sirius and Lupin still walked in the front to explore the way, and Kyle also asked Cat and Leopard to go with them.

After they walked for a while, Mr. Weasley couldn't help but ask, "Kyle, shouldn't you still be in Hogwarts? How come you are here?"

"Well, Fred and George noticed Harry was playing hooky on his Thestral, and they told me, so I went to see Professor Dumbledore... and he brought me here."

"We've been discovered?" Harry asked in surprise, turning back.

"What's the problem with that? Most people just can't see the Thestrals, not the people riding them."

"And if you had waited a little longer, Dumbledore would have come to tell you that Sirius was safe," said Kell.

Harry lowered his head in shame.

Sirius, who was walking in front, seemed to want to say something, but before he could open his mouth, he was stopped by Lupin, who shook his head, signaling Sirius not to say anything.

Harry was indeed too impulsive this time.

Rushing into the Ministry of Magic without any preparation put everyone in a passive position and forced them to fall into the Death Eaters' trap.

Fortunately, Kyle arrived in time and everyone was safe.

But what if Kyle hadn't come... More than twenty Death Eaters were more than they could handle with such a small number of people. It was only a matter of time before they were wiped out.

Lupin still feels scared when he thinks about it now.

So this kind of thing must never happen a second time.

"I'm sorry." Harry lowered his head and said sincerely, "I will never do this again next time."

"You'd better remember what you said today." Lupin said without turning his head.

"Okay, Remus." Seeing that the situation was a bit awkward, Mr. Weasley came out to smooth things over at the right time and said, "After all, Sirius is Harry's only relative, and it is also the family affection he has longed for for more than ten years... This is a trap carefully prepared for him by the cunning You-Know-Who.

"The You-Know-Who's tricks are hard to guard against. Sometimes even we fall for them, let alone the inexperienced Harry."

Lupin sighed.

This is the truth, but some things still need to be said.

"Oh, by the way." Mr. Weasley changed the subject: "Kyle, you said Dumbledore brought you here?"

"Well, the Phoenix Apparated us directly from Hogwarts to the Ministry of Magic," Kyle said.

"Merlin, what on earth was Dumbledore thinking by bringing his students to such a dangerous place..." At this point, Mr. Weasley paused and subconsciously glanced at the box in Kyle's hand.

Well, strictly speaking, Kyle is much more dangerous than the Death Eaters now.

He didn't dwell on this question any more, and instead asked, "What about Dumbledore? Why didn't he come with you just now?"

"Yeah..." At this time, Sirius, who was walking in the front, couldn't help but complain: "If he had been there just now, Bellatrix would never have been able to escape. That crazy woman is too dangerous."

Mr. Weasley nodded as well.

If Dumbledore were here, he would be able to reveal Malfoy's true identity himself... He had just seen it, the platinum-blond hair that could not be covered by the mask or the hood, it was obviously Malfoy.

"Well," Kyle said calmly, "Professor Dumbledore should still be outside the Department of Mysteries, fighting Voldemort."

At the same time, everyone stopped.

"What did you say?" Sirius almost screamed, "You-Know-Who is also in the Ministry of Magic?"

"Yeah, I just happened to run into him when I came here." Kyle said, "Professor Dumbledore and Voldemort, us and the Death Eaters, it's fair, isn't it?"

Harry felt even more guilty, but no one paid attention to him at this time. No one spoke, and after a moment they continued walking forward.

Only this time, everyone's face was much more serious.

The return journey was smooth and they did not encounter any Death Eaters blocking the road. It seemed that they had already run away and did not choose to stay in the Department of Mysteries.

Lupin had a good memory and quickly led everyone back to the black circular hall at the outermost part. As long as they left here, they would reach the corridor leading to the elevator.

But Lupin and Sirius stopped at the same time.

If, as Kyle said, the battlefield between Dumbledore and Voldemort is outside this room, is it really okay for them to go out now? Will it distract Dumbledore...

But before they could think further, a door on the right suddenly opened, revealing the corridor leading to the elevator.

Everyone was startled, but soon they found that the corridor was empty, both Dumbledore and Voldemort were gone.

Sirius, Lupin and Kingsley carefully walked out and immediately gasped.

This corridor looked like it had been bombed with blasting spells countless times. The walls on both sides were almost broken, the ground was covered with fallen stones, and there was a big hole in the ceiling.

Now, they completely believed what Kyle said.

Fortunately, the elevator was not damaged, and Mr. Weasley went forward to try it.

"It's still usable." He turned around and walked in first.

Then Harry, Kyle, Sirius, and Lupin walked into the elevator.

Kingsley decided to stay here. These captured Death Eaters needed someone to look after them, so it was safer here.

The adults unanimously decided to send Kyle and Harry out of the Ministry of Magic as soon as possible. Sirius pounded the button in the main hall, "Hurry up, damn it, can this thing be faster!"

The elevator clattered up and stopped in the main hall at Sirius's urging.

But when they came out, the first thing they saw was Dumbledore and Voldemort confronting each other.

"Oh, no!" said Sirius in annoyance. "Why are they here? I should have let them stay in the Department of Mysteries with Kingsley."

Kyle peered over from behind Lupin.

The battle seemed to have entered the halftime stage at this time.

Dumbledore and Voldemort stood on each side. The originally magnificent main hall also suffered and became a mess. Even the statue on the magic fountain in the middle was smashed.

Not far from them lay half of a centaur statue, and further away was a pointed ear and the wizard's head.

The Death Eaters who had escaped earlier were now kneeling in front of Voldemort.

"Bella, you've screwed up again, haven't you?" Voldemort stared at Dumbledore with his cold red eyes. "Months of preparation...my Death Eaters have let me down again..."

"Master, I'm sorry, I didn't know..." Bellatrix cried, slowly crawling to Voldemort's feet, "Please, don't punish me..."

"Stop talking, Bella." Voldemort's eyes still did not move away from Dumbledore, "This is the third time you have let me down, and you know what? Someone else came back earlier than you.

“Although he is a coward, he brought me some interesting news... It seems that you deliberately attacked Harry Potter who was holding the prophecy ball.

"And the one called Kyle addressed you very affectionately...even those three beasts deliberately didn't attack you much."

"No, it's not like that!" Bellatrix screamed, her face full of horror. "Master, you know that I am your most loyal servant, and I was and am now."

"I used to believe this, but now, what you have done makes me doubt it..."

Voldemort's voice was terrifying, and Bellatrix was so frightened that she fell to the ground, shaking uncontrollably.

"No, Master, I didn't..."

While they were talking, Dumbledore was watching quietly beside them, with no intention of interrupting them.

Almost everyone in the wizarding world knew that Bellatrix was the craziest Death Eater. It was really interesting that she was now suspected by Voldemort.

And he didn't know if it was an illusion, but Dumbledore always felt that the scene before him was somewhat familiar... until he heard Kyle's name, then he suddenly realized.

Kyle, that's okay.

But he couldn't understand. This alienation plot was too obvious. Even if Voldemort was suspicious by nature, he shouldn't have believed it so quickly.

Or are they acting for themselves? (End of this chapter)
