"Malfoy, you bastard!"
Harry and Ron had no idea what was going on, nor did they see anything wrong with the package. After seeing Hermione almost being pushed down, they walked over directly, ready to teach Malfoy a lesson.
Now that the two big henchmen beside Malfoy are gone, it's two against one, so they have a great chance of winning.
Then, before they could take two steps, they were pushed back by a huge force.
"Stand there and don't move!" Tonks shouted from a distance, still holding the wand in her hand which she had not put down in time.
But Harry soon realized that she had no reason to do so.
Because it was soaked by rain, the brown paper bag broke when it hit the ground, and the contents fell right onto Katie's shoes.
In just a moment, Katie flew into the air uncontrollably, looking very strange... Her hands were stretched out, her hair was blown all over the place by the strong wind, but her eyes were closed tightly, with no expression on her face.
Soon, her eyes suddenly opened, and she began to scream heart-wrenchingly, as if she was in some great pain.
"I'll go find the professor!" Hermione immediately ran to the school.
However, at this moment...
"All curses come to an end!"
Following a shout, Harry subconsciously turned his head and noticed that Kyle's wand suddenly had a layer of orange light on it, and then Kyle threw it hard into the stone path.
The originally hard stone became as fragile as freshly fried potato chips under the magic wand emitting orange light, and was easily pierced through.
Faintly, there seemed to be a layer of golden flames that began to spread around. When it touched Katie in mid-air, a layer of black smoke appeared on her body out of thin air and was quickly burned up by the golden flames.
The screaming stopped abruptly.
The unconscious Katie fell from mid-air and was caught by Tonks.
At this time, a small group of people had heard the noise and ran over. They stood around curiously, pointing and saying something to the unconscious Katie.
"What the hell is going on!" Tonks demanded sharply, especially the girl with Katie.
Because she saw clearly that all this was because of the package. If it weren't for the rude bad boy who suddenly showed up, the person lying on the ground would probably have become Kyle.
"I... I don't know." The girl who was traveling with me hasn't recovered from the shock just now, and she said with sobs.
She pointed to the torn brown paper bag on the ground. "We were just about to go to Mrs. Puddifoot's Tea House, but she picked up this package from somewhere and said it was for Kyle and she had to deliver it..."
"Oh, by the way, her expression was very strange when she spoke, just like Professor Snape's description of someone under the Imperius Curse... Oh, damn, why didn't I realize it at the time!"
The girl slapped her head in annoyance and started crying again, this time because she blamed herself.
If she had discovered something was wrong with her friend sooner, Katie might not have suffered.
Kanna walked over and patted her shoulder gently.
"It's not your fault... I remember you were Lini from the seventh grade, right?"
The girl nodded.
"So do you know who gave her the package?"
"I don't know." Lini sobbed, "I forgot something at Honeydukes. I was away from her for a while, and when I came back it was there."
"Is that so?" Kanna looked back at Kyle.
"It doesn't matter." Kyle stared at the opal necklace on the ground and said softly, "Let's deal with the matter at hand first."
"You're right, we have to go back to school quickly." Tonks looked at the increasing number of people around her and immediately ran to the school with the unconscious Katie.
At the same time, she also reminded: "Fred, George, please put that thing on the ground away and don't let anyone else touch it."
"Leave it to us." Fred said. He waved his wand skillfully, and the stone on the ground immediately turned into a box, wrapping the opal necklace again. Then he used his wand to direct the box to float forward.
During this process, the box is far away from everyone.
Harry and the others looked at each other and hurriedly followed.
"By the way, what spell did Kyle use just now?" Ron asked curiously, "It actually solved the problem in an instant."
"All Curses End," Hermione said. "That is an advanced spell. You can think of it as an enhanced version of the Stop Spell. It can eliminate all traces of magic within a certain range."
"Even the effects of Dark Magic items can be undone?" Harry asked.
"Of course." Hermione said a little impatiently, "If you have listened carefully to Professor Snape's class, you will know that the so-called dark magic items are actually things with curses.
"And curse is also a kind of magic."
"Listen carefully to Snape's class?" Harry opened his mouth. This was too difficult for him.
It's not that he didn't want to, but Snape always had a way of making him furious within ten minutes, so he couldn't listen even if he wanted to.
Several people walked into the school grounds.
Ron looked at Kyle next to him and seemed to suddenly think of something.
"Tell me, does Malfoy save Kyle once?"
"Ah?" Harry was stunned for a moment, then suddenly realized, "Yes, if Malfoy hadn't pushed Hermione and knocked over the brown paper bag, Kyle might have touched that thing."
"Ha, I didn't expect Malfoy to do a good thing." Ron said, "But he might not be very happy about it... Hey, where is Malfoy?"
He looked around and found that Malfoy was no longer around, which made Ron feel a little strange.
According to Malfoy's character, he would definitely emphasize his contribution in front of Kyle, or go to the professor to ask for credit and extra points or something, so how could he not catch up?
Kyle also looked behind him, but said nothing.
In fact, when Tonks rushed over just now, Malfoy had already quietly blended into the crowd around him and disappeared.
Several people quickly returned to the school grounds.
"Do you think he is the one who did this?" Ron guessed.
Although there was no evidence, it had become a habit for him to pin all the bad things on Malfoy, and he didn't need any evidence at all.
"I don't know." Harry said thoughtfully, "But I think I've seen that opal necklace."
"Have you seen it?" Ron looked at him in surprise, and Hermione also turned her gaze over.
"Yes." Harry nodded. "It was in a box in Borgin and Burke's four years ago, remember? I used Floo powder for the first time, and I went to the wrong fireplace and ended up there by accident.
"Because it said on the box that it had killed more than a dozen Muggles, I paid special attention to it and remember it clearly."
"So someone bought it from that shop?"
"That should be it."
"Borgin and Burke's necklace..." Connor looked at Kyle and asked, "Who do you think it is?"
"Who knows." Kyle narrowed his eyes, "Maybe someone wanted to use the opal necklace against me, but suddenly changed his mind when the time came."
"Regret...Malfoy?" Kanna blurted out.
She knew very well that Kyle would not say these words for no reason, he must have discovered something.
The only one who met these conditions was Malfoy, who suddenly appeared halfway.
If Malfoy wanted to go back to school, he could have walked there normally, but instead of doing that, he took a detour just to push Hermione, who was unlikely to block his way.
As luck would have it, Hermione knocked Katie down again, causing the package to fall to the ground.
If all this wasn't intentional, it would be too much of a coincidence.
Connor stared at Kyle, trying to get an answer from him.
"Ah, who knows." Kyle shrugged and smiled, "But given the current situation, I should thank Malfoy. After all, he saved me."
"Don't give me that." Kanna said, "Don't think I didn't see that I had already used the Shield Charm before you reached out your hand."
"After all, I had already discovered traces of the Imperius Curse. I couldn't just foolishly touch that package of unknown origin." Kyle said, "The facts also proved that I was right, didn't I?"
"Professor McGonagall is here." Hermione's voice came from the front.
Kyle looked up, just in time to see Professor McGonagall hurrying down the stone stairs to meet them in the increasingly heavy sleet.
"Tonks said that some of you saw Katie Bell being attacked. Please come to my office upstairs immediately."
"She wasn't attacked!" Ron said loudly. "She was trying to give Kyle a deadly dark magic item."
"We'll talk about this later." Professor McGonagall looked at Fred and the box floating next to him, "Mr. Weasley, what is this?"
"That's what Katie touched," said Fred. "I brought it back so no one else could touch it."
"Very good, very good, you have thought it through very carefully." Professor McGonagall looked a little nervous.
"This is what I should do." Fred said seriously.
At this time, Filch was holding the secret sensor and was about to walk towards Fred with great interest.
"No, Filch, they are with me, they don't need to be checked," Professor McGonagall said quickly.
Filch's face quickly darkened.
"Oh, Mr. Filch." Fred raised his eyebrows. "Perhaps you don't know yet, I work for the Ministry of Magic, and I specialize in dealing with these dangerous dark magic items. You shouldn't stop me."
Filch was breathing heavily, and for a moment he thought that everyone in the Ministry must be crazy to let a Niffler guard the vault.
"Oh, and Mr. Filch..."
George next to him cast his eyes on the secret detector in his hand and said, "I suspect this thing is of ill-gotten origin and may contain some kind of hidden black magic. If you can't provide the place of purchase and detailed information, I must confiscate it.
"You know, this is our job."
“No personal feelings involved,” Fred added.
Filch's face changed drastically and he held the secret sensor tightly in his arms.
This thing has been in Hogwarts for who knows how long, and there is no detailed information about where to buy it...
Even if there was, after so many years, the place would probably have been moved to another place.
But in contrast, Fred and George's faces were full of pride. They were often interrogated by Filch when they were in school, but they didn't expect that after graduation, the offense and defense would change.
I have to say, this feels great.
"Hurry up Filch, bring the things over here." Fred urged, "We need to check it. This is a request from the Ministry of Magic."
"Okay, be quiet." Professor McGonagall glared at them. "I promise there is absolutely no problem with the secret sensor, okay?"
"Since Professor McGonagall said so, we naturally believe it." George said with a smile.
"Then keep quiet," said Professor McGonagall. "Now please take this thing to Professor Snape."
She glanced at Kyle, Harry and the others again, "You guys, follow me..."
Professor McGonagall led Kyle, Harry and the others into the castle and went upstairs to her office. The rain and snow hit the windows, making crackling sounds, but the fire in the fireplace was burning brightly, and it became much warmer once they entered.
"Go ahead." Professor McGonagall walked quickly around the table and asked sternly, "What's going on?"
Lini began to speak stutteringly. Although her words were not very coherent due to the shock, they were still understandable.
But she didn't know much, only that Katie got the package during the time she left the Three Broomsticks to go to Honeydukes. As for who gave it to her and who cast the Imperius Curse on her, Lini didn't know anything.
Then Professor McGonagall asked her to go to the school hospital as well.
Lini's current condition is not very good, and she needs some sedative potion to calm down.
"So, what happened next?" She looked at the others and asked.
Hermione immediately recounted the story of Katie flying into the air and being rescued. She described it in great detail and Professor McGonagall quickly figured out the whole story.
"Very good, five points for Gryffindor." Professor McGonagall nodded, "You can go out too. Remember to keep it a secret and don't tell anyone else, even if they ask."
Then Harry, Ron and Hermione also left the office, leaving only Kyle and Connor behind.
At this time, Professor McGonagall's expression was no longer as nervous as before.
"Because you remained calm in the face of danger..." She looked at Kyle and said gently, "I'm going to give Hufflepuff 50 points. Well done."
"Thank you, Professor," Kyle said.
"You deserve it." Professor McGonagall rubbed her forehead. She couldn't imagine how bad things would have been if Kyle hadn't been there... At least Katie Bell would have suffered a lot.
Even if Auror Tonks was here, she wouldn't necessarily be able to do better than Kyle.
"Do you know anything else?" Professor McGonagall continued, "Who do you think wants to deal with you, even using the Imperius Curse to control a Hogwarts student?"
"I'm not sure about that." Kyle said calmly, "Maybe it was some crazy Death Eater. After all, I ruined a lot of their plans during the holidays. It's normal for them to want to retaliate against me."
"Death Eaters?" Professor McGonagall said in astonishment. She found it hard to believe that Death Eaters would dare to attack Hogwarts students, but apart from that, there seemed to be no other explanation.
"If that's the case." She paced back and forth, "Kyle, I have to say that for your safety, you should not leave the castle recently, and don't go to Hogsmeade again."
"Okay, I understand." Kyle had guessed what Professor McGonagall would say, so he nodded and agreed.
Anyway, he was only going to Hogsmeade to have a glass of butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks.
Moreover, after such a big incident, the school probably won't organize students to go to Hogsmeade anymore, so it doesn't matter whether he agrees or not.
"You guys should go back first." Professor McGonagall waved her hand a little tiredly, "The school will find out the truth about this matter as soon as possible."
"There's just one little thing, Professor." Kyle was not in a hurry to leave.
"Go ahead."
"It's about Mr. Malfoy." Kyle paused for a moment before continuing, "Anyway, he indirectly saved me, so can I give him 25 points?"
Professor McGonagall didn't seem to expect Kyle to say that. She raised her head and said, "But it was because of Mr. Malfoy that the package was broken."
"I can't just pretend nothing happened," Kyle said calmly, "so I said I'd give him half of the points I got instead of giving him extra points."
"Well, if you insist..."
Professor McGonagall stared at Kyle, hesitated for a moment, and nodded. "Hufflepuff will lose 20 points, Slytherin will gain 20 points."
