Chapter 784 Godric's Hollow

The wedding of Lupin and Tonks was not held at number twelve, Grimmauld Place, because some people outside the Order of the Phoenix would be attending this time, and for safety reasons, they must not be allowed to enter the base of the Order of the Phoenix.

This is just a matter of caution, not trust.

After a night of discussion, they chose a house in Godric's Hollow that had been vacant for many years.

At five in the morning, the group arrived there using the portkey.

Looking at the ordinary-looking house in front of him, Sirius asked with a complicated expression.

"Moon Face, have you really made up your mind?"

"Of course, Padfoot," said Lupin, smiling, "This is the perfect place, isn't it? And I think Harry will be happy to be back here again.

"What I'm most worried about now is actually you, you..."

"I'm fine, really." Sirius turned away and wiped his eyes with his sleeve.

He knew exactly what Lupin meant, because this was the Potter home, where James and Lily lived, and also where Voldemort killed them.

And all this was because he was smart enough to change the secret keeper.

Since being declared innocent, Sirius bought this place, but he couldn't explain why he did so. Maybe he just wanted to keep a souvenir.

Sirius once thought that he would never come back here again, but last night when everyone was discussing the wedding location, he somehow mentioned the address here. Even after he said it, he didn't realize what he had just said.

Then the option of St. Catchpole was ruled out.

Without any hesitation, Lupin decided to hold his wedding at the place where James and Lily once lived. It was at this time that Sirius came to his senses.

But now it was too late to take back what I had said.

"You're fully prepared, aren't you?" Lupin patted Sirius, pulling him out of his memories.

"Yes, it's already been done." Sirius said subconsciously: "Fidelius Charm, and I'm the secret keeper."

"It won't change again this time, will it?" Lupin asked with a smile.

"Absolutely not!" Sirius said firmly, as if he was talking to himself, or to another person who did not exist.

At the same time, Harry on the other side was staring blankly at the beautiful house in front of him. Ron called him many times, but he didn't respond.

"I didn't agree to choose this place for the wedding before." Mrs. Weasley sighed, "They didn't consider Harry's feelings at all."

"I think they chose this place because of Harry." Mr. Weasley said, "Harry is an adult now. There are things he has to face and he must face them. He can't keep avoiding them."

"Why not? He has friends and us, and he's very happy now. Why must we recall these bad memories?"

"Maybe... um..." Mr. Weasley was speechless for a moment, not knowing how to convince his wife.

Fortunately, Harry spoke up in time and helped him out.

"It's all right, Mrs. Weasley." Something seemed to flash in his eyes, and his voice became choked.

"This is great, really great. I've always dreamed of coming here... and I've had this dream for sixteen years."

"Oh, dear." Mrs. Weasley stepped forward and hugged him tightly.

"Okay, Molly." Kingsley came over and said, "Time is tight, the guests will be here soon, we have to clean up quickly."

"That's right, there are only two hours left." Mrs. Weasley let go of Harry. "This amount of time is totally insufficient. We really should have come a few hours earlier."

"We have to make sure the children get enough rest, and we've just got off work," said Mr. Weasley.

"Okay, let's get started," he shouted.

Sirius immediately took out his key and opened the door.

Everyone walked in one by one, and Harry stayed at the end, stepping onto the stairs in front of the door with some trepidation.

"Come with me, you'll like it here." Sirius held out his hand.

Harry took a deep breath, his eyes gradually became firm, and strode into the room.

There was a strong, musty smell in the room, but Harry didn't mind it at all.

After entering, the first thing he saw was a living room, which was larger than the Burrow and smaller than number 12 Grimmauld Place, but equally cozy.

In front of a light blue sofa is a very old-style TV. Of course, it looks that way now, but more than ten years ago, this type of TV might have been the latest model.

Next to the sofa is a cabinet with a broom in it.

"Nimbus 1500." Lupin came over and touched the glass window on the cabinet. "It's a very old broom model, but it was the best at the time. James won the Quidditch Cup for Gryffindor on it."

Harry's eyes lit up.

He knew that his father also liked Quidditch, and there was a medal with his name engraved on it in the school's trophy display room.

He wanted very much to put a piece of his own, but he never succeeded.

Ever since he entered school, the Quidditch champion has always been Hufflepuff, and it seems that the same was true for the class before him. Not counting the time when the Triwizard Tournament was cancelled, Hufflepuff has won six consecutive championships.

Harry shook his head, stopped thinking about it, and continued to look elsewhere.

Carpets, tables, chairs, electric lights, fireplaces… He had never seen any of these things before, but he had a very familiar feeling in his heart, as if they had been hidden in his memory and had not been turned up again until today.

Not only Harry, but everyone else was also dazed for a moment after coming in, but fortunately, some people quickly remembered the important matters.

"Hurry up!" Mr. Weasley clapped his hands. "Don't forget, the guests will be here at seven o'clock."

His words also reminded everyone.

No one has lived in this house for more than ten years. Without the blessing of memories, there are suddenly many things to do.

First of all, the musty smell was unbearable, and the dust was like someone had dumped a whole sack of flour in the room.

It could be said that the situation here was even worse than when they first went to Number 12 Grimmauld Place.

"Sirius!" Mrs. Weasley frowned. "Have you never cleaned this place once since you bought it?"

Sirius said nothing.

That's for sure. He didn't even dare to go near Godric's Hollow, so how could he possibly come here to clean?

"It doesn't matter, as long as we work quickly, two hours should be enough." Mr. Weasley took out his wand and waved it lightly at the table in front of him.

"The whirlwind swept away."

The dust on the table was immediately picked up by a whirlwind and carried out of the house, and the wind also took away some of the smell in the room.

Others also began to follow suit and used the whirlwind spell to sweep the room.

However, everyone tacitly agreed not to touch the portrait of three people on the wall, but left it to Harry.

There was a couple on it, James and Lily, and they were holding a newborn baby, but the baby did not yet have the ugly scar on its forehead.

"Cover your face." Mrs. Weasley consciously walked around Harry and handed the two bottles of black stuff to Ron and Hermione.

They all knew what it was, the Fox Killer, but they didn't expect her to bring this thing with her.

"This house has been empty for more than a decade, and these pests must have become an infestation long ago," said Mrs. Weasley. "Hurry up, Fred, George, if you keep doing nothing, go home!"

"Okay mom, we'll come and help..."

"As long as you don't chase us away."

"But wait a little longer, just three minutes..."

"We have to show Harry something good."

Fred and George poked their heads out from upstairs with a grin. "Come up quickly, Harry. There's something you're definitely going to like."

Harry turned his eyes away from the portrait and walked up the stairs doubtfully.

"We guess this belongs to you..."

"Unless you have a younger sister..."

"Or maybe my brother..."

"Or maybe my sister..."

"But it better not be my brother."

"Just look at Ron. He really makes us worry."

Fred and George were talking and laughing. Under normal circumstances, Harry might have laughed a little, but now he couldn't hear a word and just walked over subconsciously.

The crib had been cleaned in advance and was covered with a blue velvet cushion of the same color as the sofa. Above it was a wind chime decoration made of shells.

Harry stared at it, reaching out and touching it from time to time.

As for Fred and George, they had left quietly. The two returned to the first floor and found Kyle rummaging through something in front of the curtains.

"What are you looking for?"

"Fox Charmer." Kyle said, "Sniff likes this stuff. I plan to collect some for him as a snack."

“So, as long as there are a dozen Nifflers, we don’t have to clean up?” George asked with a smile.

"They can't eat so much." Kyle said without turning his head, and put the two vixens into a special box.

Fortunately, this place is much smaller than Blake's old house. Everyone worked together for more than an hour and finally cleaned the room.

However, looking at the brand new room, Sirius and Lupin were stunned again and fell into memories again.

"Sirius!"

At this moment, Harry rushed down from upstairs in a hurry.

"Can I live here after graduation?" he asked expectantly, holding a shell wind chime in his hand.

Harry originally thought Sirius would definitely agree, but unexpectedly he shook his head decisively.

"No, Harry."

"Why!" Harry was stunned for a moment, then shouted loudly: "This is my parents' house, why can't I live here?"

"He was, but he's mine now," said Sirius. "I got the magical contract here."

"I'd buy it back for free," said Harry. "I have money, and you can take it from my vault."

"I'm sorry," said Sirius stiffly, "I'll give you anything, my vault or number 12, Grimmauld Place, but not this."

"I……"

"Listen to me, Harry."

Harry was about to say something else, but Sirius put his hand on his shoulder, interrupting him.

"You have your own life, a new life... Here are our memories." Sirius took a deep breath, "I beg you, leave it to me, okay?"

Harry was silent.

This was the first time Sirius used the word 'request' to him.

Since two years ago, Sirius had been helping him and giving him a lot of things he had never had before. He also wanted to do something for Sirius, but he could never find the opportunity.

Now that the opportunity has finally come, he is reluctant to give it up because he is willing to exchange everything he has for this house.

For a moment, the two looked at each other, no one spoke, and no one gave in.

The others did not make any noise to disturb them, but just quietly left the room.

"Tsk!" Fred stretched his arms and looked back at the closed room. "Do you think Sirius will return this place to Harry?"

"I think so," George said. "Like Harry said, this is where his parents live. He has the right to live here."

"I don't think so." Kyle thought for a moment, "And I don't approve of Sirius doing this."

"Why?" George asked curiously.

"Because Sirius made a mistake once, and if Harry lived here, he would always remember what happened that night, and every moment would become a torment."

"That's true." Fred nodded and said, "I hope he can convince Harry. But I think if Harry insists, he should compromise."

"All right, you three." Mrs. Weasley came over and interrupted their small talk.

"Let's leave this matter to them. Can you help me set up the venue? It's already half past six and there are still many things to do.

"Flowers, balloon decorations, dress...Oh my God, where did Sirius put the dress? Did he forget to bring it with him?"

"I have it, Molly. It's with me." Lupin said, "Don't be nervous. It's just a witness."

"No way. Oh, there's also cake. I'll prepare it now." Mrs. Weasley didn't listen to him at all and hurried off to somewhere else.

Led by Mrs. Weasley, they soon began to work again.

Kyle walked around the house with the magic wand in his hand. Every time he tapped the ground with the magic wand, flowers would grow. Soon, a huge garden was created artificially.

"This is incredible." Mr. Weasley looked at the cluster of orchids he had conjured up, and then at the large garden that Kyle had created.

"It seems that I have done too much. You really don't need help."

"I told you so long ago." Kyle smiled.

At 6:40, another person arrived.

Hagrid landed on the garden on his motorcycle.

"I'm so sorry." He looked at the flowers that he had crushed. "I thought this was an empty space."

"It used to be," said Mrs. Weasley. "Now, move your motorbike aside now."

"Oh, okay." Hagrid picked up the motorcycle and jumped to the open space next to it. Kyle was responsible for the aftermath and repaired the areas that were crushed.

Fred and George used magic to create many sparkling elves flying in the sky.

Hermione sprayed a red and yellow banner from the top of her wand, carried by the elf.

"What does this color mean?" Ginny asked curiously, "I think gold looks better."

"Yellow is the color of Hufflepuff." Hermione explained: "Tonks graduated from Hufflepuff. If it was changed to gold, everyone would become Gryffindor."

"That's very thoughtful of you," Ginny said sincerely.

"I don't think they'll bother with that," Fred whispered. "I think Tonks would prefer a bubblegum pink color, like her hair now."

"We can add more when the time comes," Kyle said. "The place is big enough anyway, so we can add as many as we want."

"Move aside, move aside..." Mrs. Weasley said loudly as she walked over with a huge three-layer cake in her hands.

It is topped with various fruits, chocolate, marshmallows, and a thick layer of syrup.

"Professor Dumbledore really should come to this wedding." Kyle muttered softly.

"What did you just say?" George asked. He was so busy looking at the cake that he didn't hear what Kyle said clearly.

"Nothing." Kyle shook his head. "I just think that Dumbledore would like this kind of cake very much."
