Chapter 846 Department of Mysteries

Ariana liked Kyle's box very much. She had never been so free before. She could even close her eyes and run for a long time without any worries.

The soft grass was something she had never felt before. After lying down, she seemed to forget all her worries in an instant and became lazy.

And the cute animals that appeared from time to time were things Ariana had never seen before.

The only thing that disappointed her was that her favorite creatures with long necks and big eyes seemed very timid. Whenever she tried to get close to them, they would quickly run away.

But this little episode could not ruin Ariana's good mood. She even thought in her heart that if she continued to live here, it might be a good choice.

However, this idea did not come to fruition.

It seemed like just a blink of an eye, and Kyle appeared in front of him again.

Although she was reluctant, Ariana still followed him out of the box, looking back every few steps.

However, this feeling of reluctance did not last long. After walking out of the box, Ariana's eyes were immediately attracted by the magnificent building in front of her.

"Please allow me to introduce it to you..." Kyle pointed ahead and said with a smile, "What you are seeing now is the famous Hogwarts, which is also where your two brothers go to school."

Because of their status, the two did not go to school, so Kyle found a relatively high place near the Quidditch field, from which he could see the whole picture of Hogwarts.

“What a big house!”

Ariana's mouth was open and there were little stars in her eyes.

She had never seen such a big house. The attic here was probably bigger than her house.

Did her brother come here every time he left home? Ariana stared, as if trying to carefully imprint the appearance of Hogwarts in her mind, but Hogwarts was too big and she really couldn't see it all.

"What is that?" Ariana asked, pointing at several rings standing in the air.

"That's the goal," Kyle explained patiently. "It's for Quidditch."

"Quidditch?" Ariana blinked.

"It's one of the most popular sports among students, and every year when the competition comes, this place is always full of spectators," said Kyle.

but……

He glanced at the dim goalposts.

This thing seemed to have not been used for a long time, and the stands of the stadium also looked a bit dilapidated, with a thick layer of dust in many places.

Rumor has it that Phineas Black cancelled Quidditch activities during his tenure as headmaster, but now it seems that this is not a rumor.

Judging from its current condition, the stadium has not been used for at least five years.

"Come on, I'll take you somewhere else." Kyle said.

"How do we get down?" Ariana looked around.

"Of course, the fastest way is to fly down." Kyle took out the flying broom and picked up Ariana.

"Remember to wear your invisibility cloak and don't let it fall off you no matter what." Kyle reminded.

Confused, Ariana nodded and reached out to grab the edge of the invisibility cloak.

Then, Kyle also got on the broom, and under his command, the Firebolt suddenly rose high into the sky.

"ah!"

Ariana was so frightened by this sudden change that she screamed! But soon, the scream changed from fear to excitement.

She found herself as if she had become the bird she had always longed to be, flying freely in the vast sky.

Kyle carried her through the tall goalposts and back around, even flipping the broom over in the process.

At one point Ariana thought she was going to fall and closed her eyes in fear, but this did not happen. She was still sitting well on the broom, and the occasional black mist coming out of her body was suppressed by the invisibility cloak.

Kyle led her across the court, past the castle's tallest tower, and finally stopped over the lush Forbidden Forest.

At that time, Hogwarts did not have the position of gamekeeper, and the Forbidden Forest and the school castle were still separated by a long fence.

"Who's there!"

There was a roar from below, and a man ran over from a distance and roared at the two people flying in the sky:

"This is Hogwarts. Who are you? How dare you break in during the holidays? I'm going to take you to the Ministry of Magic!"

"Oh, it looks like we've been discovered." Kyle said slowly, without any sense of surprise in his tone.

It would be strange if he wasn't discovered flying so blatantly above Hogwarts.

"Will we be caught?" Ariana asked worriedly.

Since she was a little girl, people kept telling her that if she ran outside, she would be caught and sent to a terrible place where no one could find her.

Thinking of this, Ariana became even more scared.

"As long as we don't get caught, that's all that matters." Kyle said with a smile, "We'll do it."

He turned the broom, and the Firebolt turned flexibly in mid-air, flying farther and farther under the shocked gaze of the people below.

"Merlin's beard..." The man rubbed his eyes and said to himself in disbelief: "Can brooms fly so fast now?"

Ever since the headmaster cancelled the Quidditch competition six years ago, he hadn't seen a broomstick in school. He didn't expect that the outside world had changed so much...

He stopped.

There was no way. Although he really wanted to catch that daring man, it was obvious that he could not catch up with the broom flying in the sky with just his two legs. In just a blink of an eye, the other party disappeared.

At the same time, Kyle had taken Ariana through a small forbidden forest and arrived at the Hogsmeade village opposite.

In order to calm Ariana's fear, Kyle took her to Honeydukes and inhumanely emptied half of the store.

Of course, Ariana was still hiding in the invisible cloak, and the boss didn't see her.

When Ariana came out of Honeydukes, her brain was still in a state of shutdown... She had never seen so much candy in her life that she didn't even notice how much Kyle bought.

By the time she reacted, Kyle had already paid and brought her out.

"It's too much..." Ariana stammered.

"It's okay." Kyle waved his hand. "Just take it. Someone will reimburse you ten times the price."

Ariana didn't understand, but Kyle didn't explain and took her to the Three Broomsticks.

Here, Ariana once again drank the sweet butterbeer that she could only drink once a year before, and there was no limit on the amount.

In addition, she also tasted the unique-flavored cherry sparkling soda, the mint iced tea that made her shiver all over after taking a sip, and the honey cream hot cocoa that she thought tasted the best.

I don’t know if it’s a family tradition, but everyone in the Dumbledore family seems to have an extraordinary love for sweets.

Seeing that Ariana was staring at him, Kyle maliciously let her take a sip of his whiskey.

Her face turned red from choking, and she started gasping for breath. She drank three drinks in a row before she recovered.

Even the invisibility cloak she was wearing bulged slightly, but quickly returned to normal.

By the time they emerged from the Three Broomsticks, Ariana was so full that she could barely walk, full of pure water.

I had originally planned to visit a few more shops and have lunch, but now I have to put it on hold.

After that, Kyle took Ariana to many places, including listening to an opera at the French Opera House, washing her face in the magic fountain at Beauxbatons, and running away quickly after being discovered, just like when they were at Hogwarts.

As the saying goes, the first time is the second time, and this time Ariana was not so scared, but instead found it very interesting.

"Asshole!" A man dressed as a guard yelled angrily, "Don't let me know who you are, or you'll be fired!"

Washing your face in the holy magic fountain is too much!

As for whether it was someone from outside the school, the guards did not think that anyone could get through Beauxbatons' protective magic...so it must have been one of their own who came to cause trouble during the holiday.

"You just played in the fountain for a while, but you won't be expelled. This punishment is too severe." An old voice came from the side, scaring the guard.

He subconsciously thought that this person was the other party's accomplice and turned his head away angrily.

"It's not up to you to decide whether to fire me or not. Who do you think you are... Oh, Mr. Nicolas Flamel, I'm so sorry, I didn't see you were here. Why didn't you tell us in advance that you were coming so that we could pick you up?"

"It's okay." Nicolas Flamel said with a smile, "I just suddenly felt like coming here today, you don't have to mind it.

"But you just said that you wanted to expel those two students?"

"I think since it's a holiday, just pretend you didn't see it and don't bother Kolmud for such a small matter."

"You have the final say." The guard nodded repeatedly.

The person in front of him is Beauxbatons' biggest financial backer, so naturally he will do whatever he says.

Nicolas Flamel ignored the guards. He just turned his head to look in the direction where Kyle and Ariana had just fled, and muttered to himself with interest: "What an interesting person. It seems that today is indeed a good day for him to go out for a walk."

Kyle had no idea what was going on in Beauxbatons.

After leaving the Pyrenees Mountains, he took Ariana to the famous Austrian music street for dinner. After a short rest, they went to the Norwegian coast and watched a sunrise on a towering mountain.

Anyway, it was a hundred years ago now, and a certain box demon hadn't started to act yet, and the supervision of Apparition and Portkeys by the Ministry of Magic of various countries was almost non-existent.

As long as Ariana was back in the box, Kyle could basically go wherever he wanted.

He took Ariana to several countries and did not return to England until the next morning.

Although she was very happy, Ariana was exhausted. Her experience in the past ten years combined was not as rich as that of today.

"Where are we going next?" she asked, rubbing her eyes.

"The Ministry of Magic," Kyle said calmly. "I should be heading back home after this."

Ariana's body trembled violently, and her excitement disappeared instantly.

The pleasant trip that day made her almost forget yesterday's experience. It was not until Kyle mentioned it again that she realized that she could not go home again, otherwise her brother Albus would be in danger.

Kyle noticed Ariana's frustration, but he didn't know what to say.

This matter was supposed to be done yesterday, and it was too late to put it off until today. He had to rush back to check on Dumbledore's condition.

"You'll be fine, Ariana." Kyle said softly, "One day, you'll see your two brothers again. Although they may look different by then, the feelings between you will not change with the passage of time. I promise."

Ariana nodded wordlessly.

"Well, come with me." Kyle took Ariana into a record store on the streets of London and skillfully pointed his wand at a pillar under the owner's puzzled gaze.

The shelves in the store automatically opened up, revealing an aisle at the back.

"Is he an employee of the Ministry of Magic?" the boss wondered doubtfully.

He had never seen the man before, and logically speaking, he was definitely not a member of the Ministry of Magic, but he seemed to be very familiar with the staff passage of the Ministry of Magic.

Maybe he's a new employee.

The boss didn't think much about it. After all, it was just a passage into the Ministry of Magic. Compared with the mailbox road three streets away, its only advantage was that it was more convenient.

Besides, confirming the identity of the visitor was not his concern.

So, Kyle entered the Ministry of Magic openly. It was much easier than he thought. He had been thinking about using the Confusion Charm to get away with it, but now there was no need for that.

"Close your eyes, don't look at anything, don't listen to anything," he said.

Out of trust, Ariana did the same.

There's no way. The Ministry of Magic is different from other places. Magic is everywhere here. It's better to be cautious.

The Ministry of Magic at this time was no different from that a hundred years later. There was still a majestic golden statue in the middle of the main hall.

Kyle went straight to the elevator. Not sure if it was because they were walking through the staff passage or because their positions were not perfect, they did not encounter any staff to check the visitor's identity and entered the elevator easily.

Three owls flew out, each holding a piece of paper in its talons, and then Kyle walked in.

While the elevator was running, Ariana remained very quiet. If Kyle hadn't been able to sense her presence, he would have thought she had run away.

"Department of Mysteries."

I don't know how long it was before a cold female voice broke the silence.

"We're here...oh, you can open your eyes now," Kyle said.

"Where is this?" This was the first time Ariana spoke since entering the Ministry of Magic.

It was too dark here, and there were no windows on either side of the corridor, which made Ariana a little scared.

"It's a very mysterious department." Kyle said, "If there is a place that can accept you, maybe this is the only place."

Besides this, Kyle didn't say one more thing, which was that he wanted to confirm a guess in his mind. If he was wrong, it wouldn't be too late to look for another place.

He led Ariana to the end of the corridor, in front of a black door.

“Please stop.”

A man appeared out of nowhere behind them. He was wearing a hood and his face could not be seen, but Kyle recognized the golden pattern on the robe. It was the symbol of the Unspoken Man.

"Who are you? This is not the office of the Ministry of Magic. Please go back."

"No, I'm looking for the Department of Mysteries," said Kyle.

With a slight movement of his hand, he lifted the invisibility cloak on Ariana.

In an instant, the Silent Man suddenly raised his head, revealing a very ordinary face, so ordinary that no one would notice him if he were seen on the street.

"The Silent One!" He recognized Ariana's identity at a glance.

...Maybe it's not that difficult. Perhaps out of fear of an unfamiliar environment, the Obscurus in Ariana's body has been very active. Especially after she lifted the invisibility cloak, Kyle only felt a tingling pain in his left arm.

"That's right." Kyle said, glancing at the silent man from years ago. "Excuse me, but I don't think you're too surprised."

Even in the wizarding world, Obscurials are extremely rare, let alone those who have lived past the age of ten, of which there are only a handful that can be counted on one hand in the past few centuries.

"No, I'm surprised." The Silent Man shook his head. He lifted up his hood and said, "But what's interesting is that just a month ago, a crystal ball suddenly appeared in the Hall of Prophecy, and the content happened to be related to the Silent One."

"Oh? What's the content?" Kyle asked curiously.

"No comment," said the Unspeakable. He looked at Kyle. "You seem to be familiar with the Department of Mysteries."

“No comment,” Kyle said.

The Silent Man was choked, but just as he was about to say something, the door behind him opened.

A dozen silent people dressed in the same manner walked out, led by a blonde witch.

"Well, Merck, you should welcome our new colleague."

"New colleague... this guy with a bad temper?"

"No, it's her." The witch walked to Ariana, squatted slowly, and looked at her softly with a pair of blue eyes.

"Thank you for your hard work, kid."

Maybe it was because the other person had the same blue eyes as her brother, but Ariana's silence soon subsided.

"Excuse me." Kyle said, "You knew I would bring Ariana here?"

"The prophecy told me that we will have a new colleague today, so I came to pick you up."

"There are prophets in the Department of Mysteries?"

"No, not really." The witch shook her head. "It's just that the Silent Ones were chosen by prophecy, and their names will appear in a special crystal ball in the Hall of Prophecy. I just happened to see it...

"Although there are two of you here, you obviously won't be called Ariana."

"Okay." Kyle shrugged. "Looks like I don't need to explain. So, can you take good care of her?"

"We will do our best to help her control her Obscurus," the witch said calmly.

"That's good," Kyle said.

He hesitated for a moment, ready to say goodbye to Ariana, but when he looked up, he found that there was only a black door in front of him. Everyone had disappeared, including Ariana, and it seemed that they had been taken away by other Silent People.

But Kyle felt inexplicably relieved.

The Silent Man does things very efficiently and effectively, which is good. At least he doesn't have to worry about what to say.
