Chapter 956: One Hundred Galleons

After a night of revelry, classes at Hogwarts resumed in the true sense of the word early the next morning.

Although we were delayed for a few days due to the war, it’s not a big problem.

It's not like Voldemort just resurrected. In order to deal with the war that could break out at any time, Hogwarts had made preparations early on. This included speeding up the class progress of the young wizards and almost doubling the homework.

So long before Christmas, the professors had already taught all the spells that needed to be learned, and what followed was just additional teaching on how to protect themselves, which had nothing to do with the exam content.

But even so, the professors were still very nervous, especially Professor McGonagall, who had more things to do... Not only did she have to teach Transfiguration to seven grades of students, she also had to serve as the headmaster of Hogwarts and handle all events, big or small.

In addition, she also needs to represent Hogwarts and participate in the investigation of Snape's true identity throughout the process.

Unfortunately, Hogwarts did not have the magic of clones, so Professor McGonagall had to run back and forth. Fortunately, she could now use her identity as the principal to temporarily lift the school's restrictions on Apparition... otherwise, when she came back to class, she would have to run across the huge venue first.

While the professors were busy like tops, Kyle, also a professor, was able to leave Hogwarts leisurely and go to London with Connor.

This time they were going to visit Qiu.

As agreed yesterday, Cedric was waiting at the door of an old red brick shop in the middle of the street. This was the entrance to St. Mungo's. A large sign saying "Closed for Renovation" was hung on the dusty door.

It is said that this sign has been hanging here for almost a hundred years, but none of the passers-by noticed anything wrong.

Soon, Cedric saw two familiar figures, Kyle and Connor, walking out of an equally shabby telephone booth not far away.

This telephone booth is a place provided for wizards to use Apparition. Like the red brick department store, it is cast with a Muggle-repelling spell to ensure that no Muggles will suddenly appear when wizards use it.

"I'm here..." Cedric ran over from a distance.

"Where are Fred and George?" Kyle looked around. "Didn't they say they were coming too?"

"They have to wait a little longer." Cedric shrugged. "It is said that they received another order for quick-acting skipping candy last night. It's a big deal."

"Quick-acting skipping candy? It looks like this must be an order from Hogwarts." Kyle raised his eyebrows.

Want to slack off right after the war? I have to say, this year's young wizards are really bad.

I hope no little wizard is stupid enough to suddenly vomit in his class, Kyle thought to himself.

After all, his class was already very easy, with one class per week and the homework was only a foot long.

If someone still wants to be lazy after this... then we can only blame him for choosing the wrong class.

Kyle participated in the entire process of making the quick-acting skipping candy and was very familiar with it... including how to make the antidote ineffective.

"Let's go in first and not wait for them." Cedric said, and walked towards a window first. "I've already said it, you can just go in directly..."

Kyle and Connor followed closely behind.

The three of them disappeared into thin air and appeared from the other side the next second.

There was a constant buzz of voices and groans coming from all around.

"This place has been overcrowded since the war." Cedric walked up the stairs with ease and said to the two of them at the same time, "But Minister Bones found the dean and found a room for Qiu's mother."

"The minister came in person?" Kanna was a little surprised. "Didn't you say it was okay?"

"Yes," said Cedric, "a curse that makes people scream like an orangutan, plus an accidental sprain of the leg, it's really not a big deal."

"Then Minister Bones came in person... Oh, is she close to Qiu's mother?"

"I haven't heard of it..." Cedric thought for a moment, "They may have just met, or become familiar with each other during this war."

While the two were talking, Kyle's focus was on something else.

A curse that imitates the sound of an orangutan...are the Death Eaters so creative nowadays? What kind of curse is this...well, according to the nature of the curse, it is.

Although this spell had no effect on Kyle, for most other wizards, once they were hit by this spell, they would no longer be able to cast spells.

After all, gorillas can't chant spells, and the trouble level is second only to locking the tongue and throat. They are truly evil Death Eaters.

"I actually don't know why Minister Bones came to St. Mungo's in person." Cedric continued, "But I guess he probably wanted to express his importance. There are only a few people here, so it's not a big deal."

"Not many people?"

“Yes, although the battle at the Ministry of Magic started suddenly and there was no plan in advance, the strikers and Aurors were on our side, and the opponent was not the main force of the Death Eaters, so the battle was over quickly.

"There were only a few injured on our side, and they were knocked over by their own people because they ran too fast."

this……

Connor nodded. After hearing what Cedric said, it seemed like nothing. No wonder they were able to leave St. Mungo's so soon.

Several people quickly arrived at the fifth floor.

Spell damage department.

It's more crowded here than anywhere else, even the corridors are almost full.

only……

Kyle looked at the people on both sides and felt that they looked familiar, as if he had seen them somewhere.

“Bang!”

The iron bucket in the hand of the person in front suddenly fell, making a loud noise.

Kyle turned his head subconsciously and saw a man looking at the three of them in horror, then ran away.

"stop!"

Seeing this, a man at the corner immediately chased after him.

"Why did that person run away?" Kyle frowned and asked in confusion: "Are they also from the Ministry of Magic?"

"Ah, no." Cedric hesitated and did not answer immediately. Instead, he waited until he came to a less crowded place, then he lowered his voice and said, "Actually, these people are Death Eaters.

"Do you see the people over there in the corridor? And the ones holding wands at the corner of the stairs? They are Aurors and Smiters who are responsible for watching over the Death Eaters."

When Connor heard the other party's identity as a Death Eater, the sympathy in her eyes immediately disappeared.

"The Ministry was really kind not to question them first."

"Well... um..." Cedric hesitated even more and said hesitantly: "Maybe... it's because they are not worth interrogating."

"They didn't take part in the war against Hogwarts?"

"Yes, but in a sense, no." Cedric glanced at Kyle.

Kyle reacted immediately.

"Could it be that they were...?"

"Yes, they are the ones trapped by Fiendfyre." Cedric's voice became even quieter. "These people basically just rushed into the school and never moved again. That's why I said there's little point in interrogating them."

No wonder…

Kyle's mouth twitched. No wonder he felt familiar with it.

After all, there were quite a few Death Eaters surrounding him at that time, and it was impossible for him to remember all of them. It would be good enough if he could have a general impression of them.

“Ah, here we are.”

At this time, Cedric stopped in front of a door and knocked on it.

"Mom, it must be Sayid..." Qiu's voice came from inside, and then the door opened.

"I've already told you that you don't need to help..."

Maybe Qiu didn't expect that in addition to Cedric, Kyle and Connor were also here, and she was stunned for a moment.

By the time she reacted, she quickly closed the door. If Kyle hadn't pulled Cedric in time, he might have hit the door.

"Hey, Qiu, it's me..." Cedric called out in confusion, but got no response.

Kyle guessed some possibilities.

In a war between evenly matched opponents, being wounded is a kind of honor, but this is not necessarily the case in such a one-sided war.

Especially this kind of crushing result... whoever gets hurt will be embarrassed.

Qiu probably didn't expect that Cedric would bring her and Kanna with him.

I guess Fred and George probably knew the truth and made excuses for not coming.

Of course, this special treatment only applies to Qiu. If it had been Cedric, they would probably have started laughing right at the entrance of the Red Brick Department Store.

Kyle shook his head. The sudden talk about Death Eaters just now made him not realize this.

But it’s not too late now.

Kyle quickly looked around, trying to think of a reason that would allow him to leave naturally.

"I'm so glad you won the war." Sashia also saw Kyle.

"Me too, Dean." Kyle said, "How about we talk somewhere else?"

"Huh?" Sashiya was stunned for a moment. Although she just came to say hello, since Kyle said so, she didn't refuse.

Anyway, she had nothing to do at the moment, and after seeing Kyle, she just remembered something.

"Then let's go to the sixth floor."

The sixth floor of St. Mungo's is a tea room and shop, a place dedicated to chatting and meeting guests.

"Come together, Connor." Kyle tugged at Connor's sleeve.

The clever witch understood immediately and followed Kyle, leaving Cedric standing there in confusion.

Didn’t we agree to come together to pick up Qiu?

It would have been fine if Fred and George hadn't shown up, but why did Kyle and Connor also go do other things?

"We are about to set off, are you coming back?" he asked from behind.

But Kyle sighed and didn't answer.

Forget it. I hope Qiu will be gentler when he strikes.

The three of them came to the sixth floor, which was a tea room exclusively for Sasia.

When sitting here, Kyle suddenly found the atmosphere a little awkward. He was busy looking for an excuse to leave and didn't even think about saying anything to Sashiya.

How about asking her if she had lunch?

"I just happened to meet you here. I want to ask you a favor." Sashiya spoke first, breaking the silent atmosphere around them.

Kyle blinked.

"Don't ask for anything, Dean. If I can help you, I will definitely not refuse."

"What if you need the tailbone of a basilisk?" Sasia sighed. "I know this request may be a bit excessive and will directly damage the body of the basilisk, but I found a very special potion formula, and the bones of the basilisk are the most important material."

"no problem."

"I know you're having a hard time, but this potion is good for...ah, what did you say?"

"I'm not embarrassed. I said it's no problem."

"But..." Seeing Kyle agreed so readily, Sasia became a little hesitant.

"The basilisk's tailbone is not venom or snake slough, but a piece of bone is directly taken away. The tailbone is also very important to the basilisk and may affect its movements."

"That's not important." Kyle waved his hand. "Even if you need the heart of the basilisk, it's fine because it's already been killed."

"What did you say?!"

Sasia stood up instantly and looked at Kyle in disbelief.

"The basilisk... was killed?"

"That's a basilisk. Who can kill such a powerful creature..."

"It's Voldemort, who else could it be?" Kyle's nonchalant look made Sassia's face change constantly.

Well, Voldemort can indeed kill the Basilisk.

But...she still felt a pang of heartache.

As long as the basilisk is alive, it will continue to produce venom and blood. She discovered that these two materials, after being diluted to a certain degree, have an extraordinary inhibitory effect on black magic.

Especially petrification magic, the potion brewed with basilisk venom is more effective than mandrake.

But the basilisk died.

In this case, her previous research...wait.

It suddenly occurred to Sasia that since the basilisk was already dead, why should she still be obsessed with that little bit of venom?

"Kyle..."

"I want to sell the basilisk to St. Mungo's. What do you think?" Kyle seemed to have guessed what Sassia wanted to say and spoke first.

But this was also his idea.

He needed a living basilisk, not a pair of materials, valuable as those were.

As soon as Kyle finished speaking, Sassia's breathing became heavy, her eyes were bright, but also a little nervous.

"How many Galleons do you need..." Sasiya tried to control her excitement. "I know a basilisk is worth a fortune...but St. Mungo's can only give you a limited amount of Galleons. If possible, can we pay in multiple installments?"

"Of course you can... But I didn't expect St. Mungo's couldn't even come up with a hundred Galleons." Kyle sighed, thought for a moment and said, "How about this, I pay one Galleon every year, without interest."

"Creaky..." The chair that Sasiya was sitting on made a teeth-grinding sound.

"How much?" She looked at Kyle in disbelief, thinking she had heard it wrong.

"One hundred Galleons," Kyle repeated.

Sasia was silent.

In fact, if Kyle, the money-grubber, had offered a sky-high price, she wouldn't have found it strange at all, but one hundred Galleons, and one Galleon per year...what's the difference between this and giving it away for free?

But Sasia did not agree immediately.

She looked at Kyle, picked up the teacup on the table, put it down, picked it up and put it down again, repeated it several times, and then simply stood up.

"Let's go talk somewhere else. I suddenly don't feel like drinking tea anymore."

"How about the Three Broomsticks?" Kyle suggested. "They have the real butterbeer there."

"Okay." said Sasia. She waved her wand and something around her seemed to disappear.

Then, she disappeared.

"Apparition?" Kyle raised his eyebrows. In his memory, St. Mungo's, like Hogwarts, prohibited Apparition.

But considering Dean Sashiya's identity, it's not surprising.

If the headmaster of Hogwarts could temporarily lift the restrictions, then the dean of St. Mungo's could certainly do the same.

"Do you need me to take you there?" Kyle stretched out his arm and asked Kanna beside him.

"I'll wait for you in Hogsmeade." Connor just smiled and disappeared.

Kyle then Apparated to Hogsmeade.

Business has gradually resumed here, including the Three Broomsticks. As soon as he arrived here, he heard bursts of exclamations coming from inside.

"Ms. Sasia..."

“Oh my god…”

"Isn't this Dean Sassia?"

It seemed that someone had recognized her. Madam Rosmerta was also very excited. She had been controlled by the Imperius Curse before, and it was Sassia who helped to clear all the effects.

"Welcome... Dean..." She drove away the other guests in the store without saying a word. If Kyle Conna had not obviously come with Sashiya, they might have been driven out as well.

"If you would like something to drink, please let me buy it."

Kyle was a little surprised by Madam Rosmerta's attitude. She had never been so excited even when she met Dumbledore and the Minister of Magic.

"Honey bar, thank you. I need something different to drink now," said Sashiya.

As Madam Rosmerta left to pour the wine, she looked at Kyle and said quietly, "This isn't St. Mungo's, is it?"

Kyle nodded, not understanding what she meant by that.

"Then if I buy the basilisk from you as a private person, will you agree?" Sasiya looked into Kyle's eyes and said, "You can also raise the price... If it's reasonable, I won't refuse."

"No, not at all." Kyle smiled. "I think one hundred Galleons is a very reasonable price for both Ms. Sassia and the dean."
