Chapter 108: Animagus Exposed

Rita Skeeter pressed the issue, making a very serious accusation. The word Death Eater was rarely mentioned these days, just as You-Know-Who was rarely mentioned on her own initiative.

Because this word represents a tragic history and is a scar that has not yet healed for the families of many victims.

It was rare to even mention it, let alone accuse someone of this. If proven guilty, the person would be sentenced to permanent residence in Azkaban.

Cyrus felt that it was absurd and funny that others had pointed out that he was a Death Eater, yet it seemed to make a little sense.

But if you insist on linking him with the Death Eaters, then he is also the leader of the Death Eaters!

Of course, he had little interest in leading a group of scavengers that crawled in the gutters.

Rita Skeeter's words had exploded like a bomb.

More and more people gathered around them, and they were completely surrounded. Being watched by hundreds of eyes, even though Rita had seen many big scenes, she was still a little scared at the moment. Tonks was completely panicked, and she grabbed Cyrus's shoulders tightly, her knuckles turning white.

"Dawlish, what should we do?" She lowered her voice, and her voice trembled like a cotton thread that was stretched taut and then plucked.

Of course, she didn't think the accusation would come true, but if the matter got out of hand, the two of them might be temporarily suspended. Oh no, it was Cyrus who might be temporarily suspended.

As for her? She was just an apprentice who wasn't even a formal Auror. She was simply dismissed as a "temporary worker".

Whether it was the stares or the constantly flashing magic cameras, Tonks felt flustered and at a loss.

The densely packed figures in front of her seemed to lose their specific faces and become silhouettes. These shadows surrounded her and suddenly expanded - or perhaps they were shrinking - Tonks felt that she was about to fall into endless abuse and accusations.

However, at this moment, a strong hand pressed on Tonks's shoulder. That hand was like a heavy boulder, calming her uneasy heart.

Tonks felt dizzy as if she had experienced anemia and stood up suddenly, and the faces of those figures all flew back at once.

She saw the short Moody with messy silver hair struggling to push through the crowd and squeeze in. She saw Fudge wiping his sweat while leading a chubby woman in pink to drive away the reporters...

Of course, there is also the man who is closest to her and protects her behind his back.

Surprisingly, Tonks could clearly see Moody's face, which appeared and disappeared in the crowd, but when she looked at "Dawlish", she felt that the other person's figure and half of his face were blurry.

"Stand back." Cyrus left her with only his back.

He took a few steps forward with his head raised, staring at Rita Skeeter as if he were looking at something funny.

A peacock that is good at performing.

No, the peacock is at least beautiful, and Rita is at best just a showy pheasant.

Rita felt annoyed. She wanted to see Cyrus terrified and speechless. "What do you want?"

"What do I want?" Cyrus raised his eyebrows, but before he could say anything, Fudge and Moody squeezed in from two different directions.

"What happened?" Fudge came in and immediately walked between Cyrus and Rita. Umbridge, who was following behind him, glared at Cyrus and Tonks fiercely, as if asking them why they had caused such trouble for the Ministry of Magic.

"Dear Minister of Magic, I think you've come at the right time." Rita immediately put on a smile that she thought was very charming, and her glaring red lips made her look extremely aggressive.

He was not afraid of this woman, but the public opinion behind this matter. If he could not handle it well, his already precarious support rate would be even lower.

"Dawlish! What's going on!" He turned his head to look at Cyrus, his fat facial features squeezed together and his eyeballs seemed to be about to pop out.

"Who! Gives you! The! Right! To! Attack! A! Law-abiding! Citizen?" He gritted his teeth, the muscles on his face trembling with every word he spoke.

"Minister..." Tonks seemed to want to say something, but was stopped by Cyrus.

Cyrus was not in a hurry at all. He said slowly, "Mr. Minister, I am just fulfilling my duty as an Auror."

"What's the meaning?"

Fudge was stunned.

Cyrus glanced at the wizards who were watching, as if reminding them to listen carefully. Finally, his eyes stopped on Rita, which made Rita Skeeter suddenly feel uneasy.

"Rita Skeeter, do you dare to say that you are not breaking any laws now?" Cyrus was not in a hurry to tell the truth, lest the woman make excuses that she had just practiced Animagus and had not had time to register.

He must first make the other party admit that he is "completely law-abiding."

"Of course!" Rita raised her body and straightened her chest, looking very confident. Of course, she couldn't say in front of so many people that she had violated the law.

"What are you up to?" Moody whispered.

He was worried that Cyrus would embarrass himself, which would bring shame upon his good student.

"Perhaps Dawlish did have some evidence against Rita Skeeter." Arthur Weasley was talking to another official from the Ministry of Magic not far away. "The sources of many of Rita Skeeter's reports are very strange."

"You say you're perfectly law-abiding?" Cyrus paced slowly around Rita Skeeter.

With every step he took, Rita's confidence diminished. The law she had violated over the years could not be the only one related to Animagus. She was worried whether Cyrus had really caught her or was just bluffing.

"Rita Skeeter, you didn't think you could hide the fact that you were an illegal Animagus forever?"

"What?" Fudge screamed, as if he had been deaf, and his reaction was even greater than Rita's.

"You heard it right, Mr. Minister." Cyrus said softly, "Rita Skeeter has been an illegal Animagus for many years, in the form of a flying beetle. Many of the sources of information she reported over the years were obtained illegally in this way."

Rita's face, which was covered with several layers of thick foundation, was completely bloodless.

"I suppose the Ministry of Magic has a way of finding out whether someone is an Animagus, right?"

I have also added the extra chapters for Erdou, but I am so tired, woohoo.
