Cyrus followed Dumbledore out of the ward and stopped in the hospital corridor.
There were people coming and going here, pharmacists and nurses in white cloaks hurrying around, and patients under spells groaning. It was not a good place to have a conversation. But Dumbledore just waved his wand lightly, and the noisy sounds disappeared.
Cyrus felt that he and Dumbledore were like two incompatible souls, wandering outside the world.
"Mr. Dumbledore..."
"Mr. Dawlish, regarding Tom Riddle... let's just call him Cyrus. You know, during the trial, it seemed like he only knew how to say this. I think we can respect his opinion." Dumbledore winked at Cyrus mischievously.
Cyrus didn't know what the old man was thinking, but he felt very uncomfortable.
"You just said that you followed Miss Tonks immediately when she was tracking goblins and dark wizards, right?"
"Yes sir."
Dumbledore nodded. "So, you spent the entire afternoon secretly observing their actions?"
"Yes sir, those dark wizards and goblins, they captured Tonks, but have not taken any action. Instead, they are waiting for night. It seems that the sacrificial ritual requires the magic of moonlight to be completed." Cyrus said.
Dumbledore nodded: "It is not easy to see traces of ancient magic. It requires more outstanding talent." He did not dwell on it too much, but changed the subject and asked a sharp question.
"Dawlish, you saw Cyrus appear and fight. What kind of person do you think he is?"
"I?"
Cyrus tensed almost immediately.
"I don't know sir, I just saw him appear from a distance and witnessed his powerful strength."
Dumbledore nodded and asked again, "So, Dawlish, how about you? Are you okay? Are you not injured?"
"No, sir."
Dumbledore said nothing more. The miserable and painful wails in his ears returned, and the two of them suddenly returned to reality, and this anticlimactic conversation ended just like that.
Until Dumbledore's figure disappeared at the stairs at the corner of the corridor, Cyrus still didn't understand what answer Dumbledore got from him.
He walked back to Tonks's ward in silence, his mind telling him that his current identity might not be so safe. But Cyrus thought again, changing his identity might not be able to hide from Dumbledore's eyes.
He thought that the old man was testing him, and the last question was more like a questioning of whether he had endangered John Dawlish's safety than a concern for him.
'He knew, but he didn't reveal it.'
Cyrus realized this immediately, and it actually made him feel at ease.
No matter what, as long as Dumbledore doesn't just come with a knife to kill him.
Perhaps the old man also realized the difference between Cyrus and Voldemort, and perhaps he planned to continue observing to see what kind of changes this resurrected soul would bring.
But no matter what, it didn't matter to Cyrus. He didn't want to be some great devil who destroyed the world and create a huge crisis. As long as Dumbledore didn't get in his way, it was enough.
Of course, Cyrus believed that Dumbledore would try every possible way to test Cyrus in order to verify his suspicions, but as long as he didn't do it himself, it wouldn't be a big problem.
He returned to the ward where Fudge and Scrimgeour were having a heated discussion about goblins.
Scrimgeour was very dissatisfied with Docloe's collaboration with the dark wizard in trying to obtain the wand. Coupled with the bloodshed caused by so many goblin rebellions in history, Scrimgeour hoped to suppress the goblins.
Although the goblin has a lot of gold galleons in his hands, he doesn't want to cause any more trouble. The conflict between goblins and wizards is very sharp. If he suppresses them too much and violent conflicts occur, he will have a headache.
No one in the British wizarding world, which had just emerged from the Dark Ages, liked war.
He only hoped to be re-elected safely, earn more gold Galleons during his tenure, gain a good reputation, and then retire safely, becoming a Minister of Magic with a good reputation, leading everyone out of fear and towards peace, rather than ending up with a bad reputation for being warmongering.
"Let's just leave it at that..." he said, "Tonks and Dawlish, you two should take a break for a while and don't participate in other missions. Take a good vacation."
He looked sympathetic to his subordinates: "Dawlish, you haven't been home for a long time? Your wife must miss you very much! "And Tonks, we haven't told your parents about your hospitalization yet. I think you'd better go back to accompany them. The work of Auror is always dangerous."
"Fudge! If we let those goblins run wild, they might rebel again!" Scrimgeour was so angry that his hair started shaking like seaweed.
"Ah, Scrimgeour - you're too radical. This is not good." Fudge said, "Everything can be negotiated. We have set up a special goblin liaison office, right?"
As he spoke, he couldn't help but hook Scrimgeour's shoulders and lead him out.
"We can have a good talk with the leader of the Fairy Brotherhood, but I want to remind you that during the negotiation, don't say anything that is not conducive to unity."
The two men also left, leaving Cyrus, Tonks and Moody staring at each other in the ward.
After a moment, Moody shook his head in disappointment: "A man like this actually became a minister, huh."
Cyrus did not stay in the hospital for long. Moody was an old widower and could stay day and night to take care of Tonks. But in fact, Tonks could be discharged from the hospital the next day.
With no job for the time being, Cyrus had to return to Dawlish's home. When Dawlish's beautiful wife saw him, she happily came up to him, and Cyrus could only use a confounding spell to confuse her.
He was still thinking about the fact that Lily Potter was Unspoken.
Thinking that she might have left behind some manuscripts of ancient magic, just like Lanlock's manuscripts.
“Perhaps, I should find some time to visit Godric’s Hollow.” Cyrus thought.
But there is no rush. Godric's Hollow is just a possibility, and Lanlock's memory is the closest to ancient magic at the moment.
The development of this magical world is obviously not exactly the same as that of Legacy. The evidence is that since the Triwizard Tournament was stopped in this world, there has never been a transfer student to Hogwarts. However, many NPCs and even villains that appear in Legacy are real historical figures.
For example, Lanlock was a fairy who really existed.
There is also Professor Figo - Cyrus checked some file files and determined that he was attacked by a dragon on the way to Hogwarts to take up his post, and unfortunately died, becoming the first professor in history to die unexpectedly before taking office.
Cyrus took out a clean glass bottle and took out the silk thread that was emitting silver fluorescence from the bottle.
Then, he simply reached out and grabbed the memory in his hand.
The memory created ripples like a feather falling into a gray lake, and then slowly sank into Cyrus' thoughts.
He didn't need a Pensieve to see the memory.
Of course, Doklo's memory is irrelevant; what is important is Lanlock's manuscript.
In the silver-gray world, an ancient scroll unfolded before Cyrus’ eyes like an ink painting.
