In the school infirmary, McGonagall thought he might know who opened the Chamber of Secrets. In fact, Dumbledore did know - he had suspected Draco Malfoy before due to Ginny's misleading, but at the time of this attack, someone had already revealed the identity of the real murderer.
As the principal, he has too many eyes and ears in the school.
And this informer isn’t even a person, but a—— —— “Is it a portrait?”
Last night, Cyrus had just petrified Colin when Dumbledore arrived. He thought that even if Dumbledore knew Ginny's secret before, he couldn't know his every move, right?
Dumbledore said that he just happened to come downstairs to serve hot chocolate, but how could there be so many coincidences in this world? He quickly figured out where the problem was - the portraits in the castle could not be simply regarded as decorations, they had their own thoughts and served Dumbledore. When Dumbledore wanted to know some clues in the castle, he only had to ask them, or they would take the initiative to report, and Dumbledore would know everything.
But before this, Cyrus had always ignored this point, and it could even be said that even Riddle had ignored this point.
When Tom Riddle released the basilisk for the first time, he killed Myrtle without even leaving the bathroom. He usually let the basilisk move in the pipes, so naturally no portrait could see him. When Cyrus attacked for the first time, he was also at the door of the bathroom, so he once again avoided the portrait's eyes. But when he attacked for the second time, he let the basilisk roam in the corridor, which exposed his position.
"At least the location of the secret room has not been exposed." Cyrus said to himself.
He always cast a Disillusionment Charm on himself every time he went to the Chamber of Secrets just in case, and there were no portraits in the bathroom.
Moreover, Cyrus didn't mind too much that Dumbledore knew some of his information.
"It would be beneficial to let him think that he has everything under control," Cyrus thought.
Dumbledore would probably subjectively believe that the person who caused this turmoil was Tom Riddle. Under this premise, he would definitely want to see whether the two people in the prophecy, or Harry Potter, the enemy chosen by Voldemort himself, could shine again.
As the principal, he only needs to ensure the safety of the students for the time being.
What a pity—
"The prophecy is no longer important because the soul in the diary no longer belongs to Tom Riddle." Cyrus laughed.
This was the result that Dumbledore could never have imagined. It was interesting that when he carefully followed Cyrus's plan and waited for Harry Potter to complete the test again, he discovered that the BOSS prepared for him this semester was gone.
Cyrus got up from the bed, and after petrifying Colin, he came back and continued to sleep well. This made Ginny look much better, but she was still a little pale, and her body temperature was a little lower than that of ordinary people.
This was a sign that Ginny's vitality was fading, but he did not return the body to Ginny. Instead, after washing up, he came to the Gryffindor common room.
Hermione was already sitting on the sofa reading a book.
It was the book "Powerful Potion".
"You're up really early."
"It's so rare that I borrowed the book." Hermione looked up and said, "Ron hasn't gotten up yet."
As soon as she finished speaking, she saw a red-haired man jumping out in a hurry.
"Huh - you all up? Sorry, it's a bit late." Ron said quickly.
Hermione snapped the book shut and whispered, "Let's go."
The three of them immediately walked outside together.
"Going out for a walk, what's wrong?" Ron responded unyieldingly.
"I just hope you don't go to the ladies' room, and bring Ginny with you!" Percy was very dissatisfied with Ron's disrespect for him, and immediately said sternly. Last time, he caught Ron wandering in the bathroom on the third floor.
Ron retorted, blushing.
"What's that got to do with you? Besides - I don't see anything wrong with Ginny going to the girls' room."
This left Percy speechless.
Ten minutes later, in a cubicle in Myrtle's bathroom, Cyrus saw the compound potion for the first time.
"It looks really gross..."
"It's not fully formed yet. There are two-horned horns and the skin of the black African boomslang can only be stolen from Snape's office." Hermione stirred the thick, green stuff - which looked like crushed leaves mixed with black soil - and threw the two-eared grass into the crucible.
"And we also need some hair or nails from a Slytherin student. That's easy."
After a while, Harry, who had grown bones overnight, came out of the school hospital. He walked around for a while, and only thought of the bathroom when he met Percy, so he rushed over immediately. He was not surprised to see Ginny here, after all, he was the one who let the secret slip yesterday.
So he couldn't wait to tell him what happened last night.
"Colin was petrified. He came to see me..." Harry's face was filled with guilt.
"We already knew that," said Hermione, who had just met Professor McGonagall on the way here and had told Professor Flitwick about it.
Although Ron didn't like Colin very much, he couldn't help feeling angry at this moment: "We'd better get Malfoy to confess, the sooner the better. He has been unhappy since the Quidditch match, and he took it out on Colin."
After a brief moment of anger, they cheered up again, after all, Colin could still be saved.
"Oh, there's one more thing." Harry told Dobby's story again, which made them more certain that Malfoy was the murderer.
"Lucius Malfoy must have opened the Chamber of Secrets when he was a student here, and now he's teaching dear little Draco to do it. That's obvious. But I do wish Dobby had told you what kind of monster is imprisoned in there. I don't understand how it can sneak around the school without anyone noticing it."
"Maybe it can make itself invisible," said Hermione, poking some leeches into the bottom of the cauldron. "Or it can disguise itself - turn into a suit of armour or something. I've read about colour-changing ghouls..."
Seeing this, Cyrus also lent a hand and poured some dead lacewings on the leeches.
Then Harry talked about how Dobby had harmed him.
"So Dobby wouldn't let us get on the train, and he broke your arm..." Ron shook his head. "You know what, Harry? If he had kept trying to save you, it would have killed you."
"First it was Lockhart, then Dobby. You've really had bad luck," Cyrus added.
