Chapter 39: Marauder’s Map (Wow, I was fired from the company)

Justin was petrified! Nick, who was almost headless, was also petrified.

A terrifying attacker who could even hurt the dead Nick. What's worse is that Harry once again, by such a coincidence, appeared at the crime scene.

And he was caught red-handed!

Now, he was taken to Dumbledore's office by Professor McGonagall.

Cyrus bit a piece of bread and squeezed into the crowd, pretending to be completely unaware of the commotion.

"You're just in time, Ginny!" When Ron saw him, he was like seeing a savior. It was not difficult to tell from his and Hermione's eyes that they both expected Cyrus to provide some useful information.

"Ginny, you went out with Harry, did you find anything?" Ron asked anxiously.

"No? I went straight to the restaurant."

Hearing this, Ron immediately showed a disappointed expression. Hermione then explained the matter that Cyrus knew best.

"If we didn't know Harry well, maybe even we would think he was the murderer."

"Harry Potter is George, the heir of Slytherin!" Fred laughed and shook his head, looking at his brother. George looked just as ridiculous as he did, but they thought it was quite funny.

"Harry Potter, the most evil wizard in the world, is a Gryffindor. Now we have defeated all the Slytherins!" George said happily, "What a pity, there are always so few coincidences, otherwise we can find out who the attacker is."

George and Fred's words immediately made Cyrus cautious.

Marauder's Map!

This god-like map with a bird's-eye view is perfect for finding criminals.

However, in order to prevent the map's secret from being exposed, the twins naturally could not take out the map and look at it all the time.

But what if? What if they happened to take out the map when he was about to attack someone next time? Cyrus couldn't guarantee that everything would go exactly the same as in the book. And now Dumbledore was already suspicious of him. If he was going to escape from Hogwarts, the map would always come in handy.

Even just confirming Dumbledore's location would provide him with a lot of additional insurance.

So he immediately walked towards the twins and pulled them aside.

"What Ginny?"

"I always feel like she has bad intentions!"

"I'm your sister, how could I have any bad intentions?" Cyrus said innocently, "Let me ask you, how did I behave last night? Did I give the Slytherin people a good beating?"

"That's right!"

"You've satisfied your brothers!" Fred and George immediately sang in unison, recalling Slytherin's performance in the Dueling Club yesterday, and said happily, "I think they won't be able to hold their heads up for at least the whole year."

"A whole year? I bet they'll have enough as long as Ginny's at Hogwarts!"

"Since I've performed so well, can you do me a favor?" Cyrus showed them the map of Yan State and was finally ready to take out the dagger.

But Gemini is not fooled at all.

"You dealt with Slytherin, what does it have to do with us?" Fred knew without thinking that his sister was going to make a difficult request. "In the final analysis, that gorilla Flint wanted to deal with you in order to avenge your curse."

"That's right! Even if you trace it back a little further, you did it for Ron. So you should ask Ron for help." George said immediately.

"But it was you who asked me to be ruthless to the Slytherin students before the Duelling Club started. And -" Cyrus glanced back at Ron secretly, "Do you really think Ron can help?"

The two brothers also subconsciously looked at the silly Ron, and for a moment they felt that Cyrus' words were irrefutable.

"I'm convinced by you,"

"——Especially the second half of the sentence!"

The two asked in unison: "Well, let's see what help our dear sister wants?"

"Remember when you saved me on the first day of school?"

"You mean the secret passage?" Fred pretended to be stupid.

"No!" Cyrus raised his voice, but lowered it again because he was worried that others might hear the conversation. "I mean your method of knowing where someone is without being able to see them. Maybe you can use it to find the real murderer!"

"It looks like our sister has set her sights on the secret of our success, George!"

"I'm not surprised at all, but no!" George said immediately.

In fact, what Cyrus said coincided with their original idea, and they actually tried it.

"It won't work Ginny. No one knows when the heir will attack. You can't stare at the map forever."

"We have to give it a try!" Cyrus said, "There are already so many victims, and Harry has been wrongly accused. We can't let the murderer continue to run rampant! Give it to me! Otherwise I'll tell Dumbledore!"

Hearing this, Fred and George looked very hurt.

"I heard it Fred, there's nothing wrong with my ears." George responded immediately with a sad face.

"If you don't want the professor to know, take it out quickly."

"No! We'd rather be known by the professor."

Cyrus didn't expect that even after talking about this, they were still unwilling to take out the map. This made him very confused.

"Why? I'll return the map to you once I find the murderer!"

"no!"

"This is too dangerous, Ginny. We don't want to hear that you were petrified. Dumbledore said that this petrification spell can only be cast by someone who is proficient in the Dark Arts, and you are only a first year!"

Although the twins seem a little heartless, they actually care about their sister very much.

"I'm better than both of you," Cyrus said sternly, "and you think I'm safe after defeating and humiliating those Slytherin students? If the Heir is really from Slytherin, he must hate me very much."

"But you're a pureblood." Fred wavered.

"I am! But there is no evidence that the man will not attack pure-bloods, right? The words on the wall read 'Those who are enemies of the heirs, be careful', not 'Mudbloods, be careful'." Cyrus' words made it impossible for the two of them to refute, "If I can know the location of others in advance, maybe I can know who is going to attack me, right?"

"That makes sense - okay -" The two men hesitated for a while, and finally agreed that Cyrus was right.

It is easy to dodge an open attack but difficult to guard against an arrow from the dark.

"Give it to her. We've almost figured it out anyway." George nodded.

Then, they took Cyrus outside the common room. The blizzard continued and it was very cold outside, so almost no one stayed outside. But just in case, the two of them found an empty classroom and locked the door.

Then Fred dramatically pulled a square piece of paper out of his robes.

"To be honest, I'm reluctant to part with it."

"That's right - looking back to those days, we were only in the first grade, young, carefree, and innocent -"

Cyrus smiled immediately.

"—ah ha, more innocent than now—when we had a bit of a row with Filch."

"So he pulled us into his office and started using his usual threats—"

"—and we couldn't help but take a look at one of his filing cabinet drawers, which was marked 'Confiscated Items, Highly Dangerous.'"

"Hey, what would you have done?" Fred said. "George threw another dung bomb to distract him, and I opened the drawer and grabbed - this."

"It's not as bad as it sounds, you know," said George. "We guess Filch never figured out how to use it. But he may have guessed what it was, or he wouldn't have confiscated it."

“Do you know how to use it?

"Oh, I know." Fred smiled proudly, "This little darling taught us more than all the teachers in the school."

He drew his wand, tapped the parchment, and said, "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good."

Instantly, thin lines of ink spread out like spider webs from where George's wand tip had touched, connecting to each other, crisscrossing, and extending to every corner of the parchment; then the words appeared at the top, in large green cursive letters:

Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs

Gentlemen of the Magical Mischief Makers Introducing The Marauder's Map This map shows every detail of Hogwarts Castle and grounds, but the most unusual thing is that there are many small black dots moving around the map, each with a name in very small font.

"In addition to marking the location of each person, it also marks many secret passages. The one we went to last time was the one leading to Hogsmeade. But we were worried that you would run out alone, so we lied to you and said it was blocked. But now, we have to admit that you are indeed very capable!"

"Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, Prongs." George patted the title of the map and exclaimed, "Thanks to them."

"What a noble man, working tirelessly to help a new generation of delinquent students," said Fred solemnly.

"Yes," George agreed briskly, "don't forget to wipe it off after use--"

"—otherwise everyone could see it," Fred warned.

"Just tap it again and say, 'Mischief over!' and it will become a blank sheet of paper again."

"Well, little Ginny," said Fred, imitating Percy in a weird voice, "take care of yourself!"

After Cyrus took the parchment, he immediately put on the same solemn expression, "Thank you, I will return it to you when I am done with it."

Good news, I received a recommendation text message, bad news, I was fired by the company. Woohoo, please give me some money to comfort me. ┭┮﹏┭┮
