Chapter 56 Seven Secret Passages

"Do I have to tell you now?"

"We thought it best to say it before the next attack." The twins shook their shoulders simultaneously.

This obviously piqued Dumbledore's interest, and according to the twins, it seemed to be related to the attack.

Perhaps the doubts that are bothering you at this moment will soon be resolved.

"Please take a seat, gentlemen." He stood up and poured them a cup of black tea. "I think I can listen to you slowly recount what happened. It would be best if you didn't leave out any details."

"This matter has something to do with our sister,"

"Professor, you may not know that her dormitory was robbed not long ago. Something very important was lost."

"It's a magic item."

Fred and George spoke alternately.

"Oh, I just heard something." Dumbledore smiled, "So, you know what she lost?"

Who would have thought that the answer to the question that I was still racking my brains over a second ago would now be right in front of me.

That evil thing

——Horcrux! Its true face will be revealed soon!

There was anticipation in Dumbledore's eyes, but his expression did not change much.

"Of course we know that it actually belonged to us," the twins said at the same time, but this made Dumbledore confused.

"Your stuff?"

When has the Horcrux ever been passed down among them? "It can't be considered ours, but we did discover its secret."

He sat up straight and emphasized again: "Please tell me in detail!"

The twins had to start the story from the beginning again.

"So, you found a Marauder's Map in your first year, which can mark the location of everyone in the castle, right?" Dumbledore finally figured out what the twins wanted to talk about.

It was not the true appearance of the Horcrux as he imagined, but another magical prop that could be called "great".

Moreover, this is indeed very important information!

"That's right."

"Even my name?" Dumbledore confirmed.

"Everyone's name!" Fred and George nodded in unison. "Padfoot, Prongs, Moony, and Wormtail made this. They're really nice people! They made this map especially for those of us who are willing to break the school rules!"

"But now this map has probably fallen into the hands of the heir."

"Yes, Ginny wanted to use the map to find the attacker, but not long after, her dormitory was robbed." Fred said, "We are worried that if the attacker uses this map, he will be able to launch an attack better."

"Or hide yourself," George added.

"Your concerns are justified." Dumbledore agreed very much. "I am very glad that you are willing to share this important secret with an old man like me." His eyes were shining.

After hearing what the twins said, he already knew who made the map. But he didn't expect that Remus Lupin and the other four had such ability. A magic item that even he was marked invisibly - what would happen if Riddle got this map?

Who would be able to find him then? "Let me confirm again, the Marauder's Map can only mark the location of people who were born inside the castle?"

"That's right," Fred replied.

"However, we also found that the map cannot mark every location in the castle. For example, the location of the secret room is not shown on it."

"Obviously, the four marauders have not found the location of the Chamber of Secrets. Hogwarts always has many surprising secrets." Dumbledore smiled. "Then, can you please tell me, if we want to leave the castle, what are the unknown secret passages?"

"There are seven in total. Filch knows four of them - but we don't think the attacker would care about Filch," they said.

"The remaining three are behind the mirror on the fifth floor and behind the statue of the one-eyed old woman. They lead directly to Honeydukes' cellar. We usually use these two when we sneak out before."

"Hey, George!" Fred patted George on the head.

"Sorry, I let it slip."

"Don't worry, I won't punish you for this." Dumbledore laughed, "I think sometimes we always need a little adventure to make life interesting enough, right?"

"A bosom friend!"

“I can’t agree more!”

The twins shouted exaggeratedly.

“The last one, we estimate that not many people have used it. It is located next to the Whomping Willow. However, if the successor is strong enough, he may not care too much about the Whomping Willow. As long as he doesn’t mind making a big noise.” They said.

Dumbledore knew this passage better than anyone else.

The Whomping Willow was originally planted by him, and the passage under the Whomping Willow was also prepared by him for a special student.

The twins believed that there was a dangerous Whomping Willow guarding the Chamber and that the heir to the Chamber of Secrets would never be able to escape from there, but Dumbledore thought just the opposite.

It would be easy for Riddle to kill the Whomping Willow, not to mention that it was impossible for the Dark Lord to not know how to subdue the Whomping Willow. Just touching the scar on the Whomping Willow would quiet the terrifying willow tree.

"I have to say that the information you told me is extremely important. Perhaps it will be directly related to whether we can finally catch the attacker." Dumbledore expressed his gratitude without reservation.

"It's just a piece of cake." The twins were also happy that they could help.

"In return, I think I can promise you that if I find the map, it will be returned to its original owner and back to you. And I will keep this secret for you until you graduate." Dumbledore winked playfully.

"real?"

"real."

After seeing Fred and George off, the relief on Dumbledore's face immediately disappeared.

He returned to his chair and lowered his head to think.

"Which secret passage would you choose to leave? Or -"

"Can you beat that boy?"
