Chapter 7 After-school Tutoring

Tom Riddle had tried to master this spell before, but he was unsuccessful. Cyrus had understood the theory, but he had never held a wand before, so he didn't know if he could cast this spell.

It was not until the next evening that Cyrus received another message from Ginny.

"Good evening, Mr. Riddle - I was almost late this morning, but luckily my roommate woke me up."

Cyrus saw the complaint in Ginny's words and replied immediately, "Almost? That means no. I think last night's night tour was quite interesting, right? Even if I was really late, it was worth it. Anyway, I can teach you most of the knowledge, maybe better than the professors because I am more patient and it's one-on-one tutoring."

"But I will be deducted points, and I don't want to become a sinner of Gryffindor." Ginny wrote these words with a red face. Then, as if she remembered something, she couldn't wait to write again: "Mr. Riddle, do you want to know what happened after I went to the medal display room?"

She kept it a secret and paused after writing this sentence, waiting for her Mr. Riddle's response.

"I'd like to hear more about it."

Ginny was not very satisfied with this answer, but she still pouted and wrote:

"I was almost caught by the administrator, but Fred and George helped me hide. They have a secret - even if they can't see, they can know where a person is. And they also know some secret passages. It's at the one-eyed witch statue in the corridor on the fourth floor. They asked me to keep it a secret, but I think it's okay to tell you. By the way, Mr. Riddle, this is not on the map you gave me."

Marauder's Map?

As soon as Cyrus heard it, he knew what the twins' secret was.

The Marauder's Map, created by the four marauders headed by Harry's father, marked the location of Dumbledore wherever he went in the school. It can be said that as a magic prop, the Marauder's Map is still very sophisticated.

Cyrus was also very interested in the existence of the Marauder's Map, but after thinking about it, he felt that the map was of no use to his plan, and that many places in Hogwarts could not be displayed even on the map, such as the Room of Requirement and the Chamber of Secrets.

As for the secret passages out of Hogwarts, he knew of three, having read the original novel - one behind the Whomping Willow, one behind the one-eyed witch statue on the fourth floor, and one behind the mirror on the fifth floor.

These three paths are enough for him.

"That's normal, Ginny. At Hogwarts, there are as many secrets as you want, but I don't think they can know the secrets I know."

"Like?" Ginny asked provocatively.

"Like some secret rooms..." Cyrus' words seemed to have magic that attracted Ginny.

"A secret room?"

"That's right!" Cyrus replied slowly. He didn't intend to tell anyone about Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets right now. In fact, there were many other secret rooms in the castle besides Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets. Tom Riddle had found many of them when he was looking for Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets before, but most of them were empty or had only some rubbish in them.

"As a magic castle with a history of more than a thousand years, Hogwarts actually has many secret rooms. Although most of them are empty, sometimes they are enough to serve as a temporary shelter."

He revealed the locations of several secret chambers in succession, which surprised Ginny.

"Why didn't you say it before?"

"I think it would be more of a surprise for you to discover this on your own, don't you?"

However, her personality was not as sensitive and sharp as Hermione's, so not only was she not disliked by others, but she made a lot of friends instead.

"By the way, Ron received a howler letter from his mother this morning - it seems that his father is in trouble because of them. Ron is always getting into trouble. Fred and George are right, he is like a child who has never grown up." Ginny couldn't find anyone to share this with during the day, so she could only complain to Cyrus. "Besides, I feel a little embarrassed because people often ask me in class, 'Is the person who received the howler letter this morning your brother?'"

She said sadly, obviously feeling that Ron had embarrassed her.

But in fact, Ron still cares about Ginny very much. After escaping from the Whomping Willow last night, he wanted to see Ginny sorted despite his injuries. It was a pity that the sorting ceremony had already ended by then.

"You don't understand this little Ginny, boys are all like this. Childish and immature."

"No! You're not like that!" Ginny retorted.

"I'm not a kid." Cyrus ended the topic. "Okay, let's start tonight's tutoring. You shouldn't have to worry about Charms and Transfiguration this semester, but you still have to pay attention and practice more. What do you want to learn next?"

"Defence Against the Dark Arts - I asked Ron to borrow the textbook, but he gave me Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as well."

Last year's Defense Against the Dark Arts textbook was called "The Dark Arts: A Guide to Self-Defense", but the book "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" can also be considered a supplementary book. The Defense Against the Dark Arts in grades one to three is almost all about dealing with dark creatures, and these dark creatures are also part of Fantastic Beasts.

Ginny originally planned to use the second-hand books of Lockhart that she had bought at a high price this year to teach. However, Cyrus told her that those books were no different from waste paper. Even if she read them as novels, she had to endure the narcissism that was everywhere in Lockhart's writing.

Ginny opened Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and after the preface by Dumbledore and Newt, the first part of the book asked a question, "What are animals?" She saw Ron's note behind this question - "a kind of hairy guy with many, many legs", which made her laugh immediately.

Obviously this wasn't the correct answer, but she could easily relate to the fact that Ron was afraid of spiders.

Then she soon discovered other fun things left in the book.

For example: "According to the classification level of the Ministry of Magic, the most dangerous creatures are marked as ×××××" and Ron added "or anything Hagrid likes."

Ginny was overjoyed, she knew Hagrid was the huge man who took the freshmen to the boat across the lake, and it was he who brought Harry out when he accidentally entered Knockturn Alley during the summer vacation. During the holidays, Ginny had heard Ron talk about the three-headed dog and the dragon more than once, these ferocious creatures were all raised by Mr. Hagrid.

Then she discovered that Ron had added four more "x"s after the five "x"s on the back of the Acromantula, turning it into an unprecedented nine-level "x" magical creature. This shows how much Ron is afraid of spiders.

Another book, "The Dark Arts: A Guide to Self-Defense", mentions many spells, such as: the Repulsive Spell, the Snot Curse, the Red Spark and the Green Spark, which are not taught in spells classes.

There are also spells like the Illumination Charm and the Extinguish Charm, which are also mentioned in the Standard Book of Spells.

Cyrus let Ginny read the book by herself, and if she encountered anything she didn't understand, she could ask him questions.

He is now a true master of Defense Against the Dark Arts. I am afraid that there are not many professors of Defense Against the Dark Arts who have better theoretical knowledge than him. Of course, Dumbledore is definitely not one of them.

New books need to be cared for. If you think it is well written, you can collect it first. (End of this chapter)
