Chapter 74 Aragog

All he knew was that the darkness seemed to lift a little suddenly, and he saw that the leaf-covered ground was now densely covered with spiders. He twisted his neck and saw that they had reached the edge of a wide hollow that had been cleared of trees. The clouds in the sky had parted a little, and the stars lit up a scene of terrible horror.

spider.

Not like the tiny spiders that scurried through the leaves below, but each one was as big as a cart horse, with eight eyes, eight legs, and was black and hairy, a huge monster.

The giant spider holding Cyrus and the others walked down the steep slope toward a misty hemispherical spider web in the center of the depression. Its companions surrounded it. When they saw what it had clamped, they moved their claws excitedly, making a clicking sound.

The spider loosened its claws, and Cyrus flicked his wand gently, landing smoothly like a cat. But Harry and Ron didn't have this ability, and the two of them plus the dog fell heavily to the ground at his feet.

Fang was curled up in fear, as if playing dead, while Ron and Harry's mouths were wide open, as if they were screaming silently, and their eyes were bulging outwards.

Maybe it would be better to let him pass out now than to keep him awake.

"Are you all right?" Cyrus asked in a low voice.

"fine……"

"What do you think? We're going to die!" Ron's voice was hoarse.

Then the spider, which had led them, uttered a loud noise, and Cyrus recognized that it was speaking human language, which was not easy to tell, for it made a clacking movement of its great claws with each word.

However, as a magical animal, the Acromantula can speak and has considerable intelligence. Cyrus even suspects that they may be smarter than Hagrid. They can be classified as sub-human. You know, even a dragon can't speak.

"ARAGOK!" it cried. "ARAGOK!"

Cyrus looked closely and saw a huge spider slowly emerging from the middle of the misty hemispherical spider web. It was even larger than the average eight-eyed giant spider and was almost as big as an elephant!

Its body and legs were grey-black, and each of its eyes on its ugly head with huge claws was covered with a white film.

It is blind.

"What's going on?" it said, moving its two large claws rapidly, making a clicking sound.

It was a very strange feeling, and Cyrus couldn't help but think that they were talking in time, but like some rapper.

"Human," said the spider that had just caught Cyrus.

"Is that Hagrid?" said Aragog, moving closer, eight milky white eyes staring blankly.

"It's a stranger."

"Kill them, I'm sleeping..." Aragog said irritably. It was already very old, and now the time it spent resting far exceeded its activity time. A few unknown strangers were not worth waking up for.

And it doesn't eat humans, these guys aren't even food to it.

When the spiders around heard this, they couldn't hold back any longer.

Every time Hagrid came here, they longed for his flesh and blood in their hearts, but their leader Aragog would not allow them to hurt Hagrid.

How ridiculous!

The giant eight-eyed spider lives to eat human flesh! Click, click, click, the spider's huge claws are moving everywhere in the hollow.

Harry and Ron's hearts seemed to leave their chests and jump out of their throats. They subconsciously grabbed Cyrus, as if hoping that "Mr. Riddle" could give them some help.

But it was a spider after all, and it still made him feel creepy when he saw it.

He took a step forward and said calmly:

"We are friends of Hagrid."

The agitated spiders suddenly stopped, and Aragog hesitated.

"Hagrid never sent any men to our hollow before," it drawled.

"Hagrid's in trouble," Harry bravely said, his breathing coming in short gasps, "that's why we're here."

"Trouble?" the old spider said, and Harry thought he heard concern in the snapping of its claws.

"But why did he send you?"

Harry considered standing up, but decided to remain on his stomach; he didn't think his legs would be able to support his weight.

"Let me explain, Harry." Cyrus was the only one still standing. He looked proudly at the spiders that surrounded them. Although such a large number of spiders made him feel a little uncomfortable, it was not fear, but just disgust.

Harry was visibly relieved to hear Cyrus' words.

"The Chamber of Secrets has been opened again. They believe Hagrid recently released something to harm students. They took him to Azkaban." Cyrus briefly explained the situation, of course without mentioning his own affairs.

He believed that if Aragog knew that he was "Riddle", he would not say a word and would immediately let his descendants pounce on him and bite him to death.

Aragog waved his great claws in anger, and the sound was answered by a swarm of spiders in the hollow; it was like applause, but this applause was chilling and sickening.

"But that was years ago," said Aragog irritably. "Many, many years ago. I remember it well. That's why they let him out of the school. They believed I was the monster that lived in what they called the Chamber of Secrets. They thought Hagrid had opened it and let me out."

"So... you didn't come out of the Chamber of Secrets?" Harry had a layer of cold sweat on his forehead, but he still couldn't help asking.

If what Aragog said was true, then didn't that mean Mr. Riddle was completely wrong? Hagrid was indeed not the murderer, and the monster had nothing to do with Hagrid.

He couldn't help but look at Cyrus, and found that Cyrus was also frowning at the moment, and he immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

"Me!" said Aragog, his claws opening and closing angrily, as if he hoped to bite something to death.

"I wasn't born in a castle. I came from a faraway country. A traveler gave me to Hagrid when I was still a little egg away.

"Hagrid was only a child at the time, but he looked after me, hid me in a cupboard in the castle and fed me crumbs from the table. Hagrid was my good friend and a good man. He protected me when people found me and held me responsible for a girl's death. I've lived in this wood ever since, and Hagrid often comes to visit me. He even found me a wife - Mossag. You see how prosperous our family has become, thanks to Hagrid..."

Cyrus raised his head and looked around, and could not help but agree with its words.

Thousands of giant acromantic spiders were actually bred by Aragog and Mosag. Sure enough, the species raised by the hybrid master Hagrid were no joke in terms of their ability to reproduce.

Of course, Cyrus naturally hopes that there are as many of them as possible.

Only when there is enough nutrients, can the fruits be abundant! (End of this chapter)
