"Changing your name will not change your situation." Dumbledore said expressionlessly. He looked at the two objects in his hands and clearly detected traces of magic in the crown.
Although the diary contains magical power, it does not seem to be a Horcrux. There is no Voldemort's soul in it. It looks more like an ordinary Pensieve and no longer poses any other danger.
"It seems that you relied on this thing to revive? The crown has been missing for nearly a thousand years... I guess the relics of the other two founders may have been made into Horcruxes by you?"
He stood up and looked at the crown that had shown signs of age. It was almost impossible to repair it, so he planned to destroy it. As for the diary, he did not plan to leave it to Cyrus.
"Soon, the Aurors will arrive and you will be taken to Azkaban, but don't worry, we won't kill you. I admit that simply taking your life will not satisfy me. We have more ways to destroy a person."
He waved his wand, trapping Cyrus tightly, took the wand from his hand, then picked up the Marauder's Map and took a look at it, then looked up at the sky quietly. The previous fire burned the shed clean, and now there was moonlight above their heads.
Cyrus no longer had the ability to resist at this moment, so he simply admired the moonlight with Dumbledore. Even if he was free for only a short moment, it was very precious to Cyrus.
Today the weather is very sunny, but the moon is missing a large part, so it is not a full moon. Even if it is, Cyrus is not a Saiyan, and cannot turn into a gorilla when the moon is full...
But... maybe not, it just takes a little time.
Cyrus pursed his lips.
Dumbledore stood there for a while, and found that the person on the Marauder's Map had left the office and disappeared in a deserted place. He immediately knew that he had started to act, and now he could go back to normal time to fill in the gap of the moment he disappeared.
"Time to go, Tom."
Cyrus said nothing and let Dumbledore take him away with magic. - The Weasleys paced anxiously in the headmaster's office. When they heard that their daughter had been taken away by the heir and her life or death was uncertain, Molly and Arthur felt as if the sky was falling!
Fortunately, Dumbledore came back in the end, but he didn't stay long before leaving again.
The only thing that kept them calm now was what Dumbledore had said before: "If nothing goes wrong, I believe nothing will happen to Miss Weasley."
Perhaps this is just a consolation, but after all, it came from Dumbledore's mouth, and there is a high probability that it will become a reality.
Sure enough, after a while, the door was pushed open.
Harry, Ron, Ginny, and the silly-looking Lockhart were standing at the door. They looked a little dirty, but they didn't seem to be injured, especially Ginny, who looked surprisingly good, healthier than at any time in the past two semesters. The only thing that made her look a little pitiful was that she seemed to have cried.
For a moment, there was silence. Suddenly, there was a scream -
"Ginny! It was Mrs. Weasley, who had been sitting sobbing before the fire. She sprang to her feet, followed by Mr. Weasley, and both threw their arms around their baby girl.
Then, this woman, full of maternal love, hugged Harry and Ron tightly again.
"You saved her! You saved her! How did you do it?"
"To be honest, it's not really a rescue. Ginny is fine..." Harry recalled the experience after he and Ron entered the Chamber of Secrets. He thought he would face a terrible monster, but in fact there was nothing there. He even heard about the identity of the heir from Ginny after she woke up.
He looked into the office and found that there was still no sign of Dumbledore. He thought that Dumbledore had not returned to school yet. But Professor McGonagall was here.
So he told them everything that had happened, including "Mr. Riddle" who had been with them for the entire semester.
"Apparently Riddle modified their memories." McGonagall sighed weakly.
"Ginny!" said Mr. Weasley, stunned. "Didn't I teach you? What have I always told you? Never trust anything that thinks for itself, unless you see where its mind is. Why didn't you show that thing to me or your mother? A suspicious object like that, obviously filled with Dark magic!"
"I-I don't know, I forgot..." Ginny was still crying sadly, "And, I think Mr. Riddle may not be really that bad... In fact, he didn't hurt me..."
"You're still speaking for him!" said Ron angrily.
Finally, McGonagall interrupted their conversation on this topic and asked, "So, where did Mr. Riddle go?"
"I don't know, Professor, none of us saw him. Ginny said that he claimed to kill her, but he didn't actually do it." Harry was also very confused about this. This was why Ginny had always believed that "Mr. Riddle" was not a real bad guy.
"Mr. Riddle has been arrested."
At this time, Dumbledore pushed open the door and walked in briskly. He immediately attracted everyone's attention: "I found his escape route, had a duel with him, and defeated him. I happened to meet the Aurors who came at the school gate, and let them take him away. I believe he will spend a long time in Azkaban."
Dumbledore said as he looked Ginny over.
"Miss Weasley looks well, but it would be best if she went to the school infirmary for a check-up. In addition, I have a few things to return to their original owners." Dumbledore took out the Marauder's Map from his robe and gave it to the twins, returned the cloak to Harry, and finally handed the diary to Ginny.
"Sir, what is this?" Arthur asked nervously.
"It's Riddle's. It's something like a Pensieve. I think Riddle should make some compensation for what happened to Miss Weasley. Don't worry, it's harmless." Dumbledore said with a smile.
"Professor," Harry began hesitantly, "Professor, could it be that Mr. Riddle is not such a bad person?"
"Harry, why do you say that too?" Ron looked at him in astonishment, "Have you forgotten Hermione? Forgot that he wanted to put Ginny in danger?"
"But the Basilisk didn't actually kill anyone, did it?" said Harry. "Maybe he was avoiding killing people?"
"That's an interesting guess, Harry. I believe it's because of your own kindness." Dumbledore said happily, "What kind of person a person is, he will subconsciously assume that others are the same. But you are totally wrong about Riddle's inference."
He seemed to let out a very long sigh, and the whole office was waiting for his next words.
"I don't know how he managed to deceive you. He is very good at it. In fact, I taught him personally at Hogwarts fifty years ago. He was probably the best student ever at Hogwarts.
"He disappeared after leaving school... traveled far and wide... sank deeper and deeper into the quagmire of the Dark Arts, hanging out with the most evil people in the wizarding world, and underwent so many dangerous magical transformations that it was difficult for people to recognize him by then."
"Then he changed his identity, and we are all familiar with it." He swept his eyes over everyone and said the name heavily: "Yes, Tom Riddle is Voldemort."
The time in the office seemed to be frozen all of a sudden. Harry could never imagine that he was just speaking well of the other person, but in fact, that person had killed his parents with his own hands eleven years ago.
