Chapter 32 Christmas
It was already mid-December before we knew it. Winter came very early at Hogwarts. It started snowing from the end of November. Now, the entire Hogwarts campus has been dressed in silver.
Because of Christmas, most of the little wizards have gone home for the holidays, which is good news for Filch. Because of the snow, many naughty little wizards like to play snowball fights in the snow, which makes them often wet.
When these naughty ghosts return to the castle, they will leave their dirty wet footprints along the way, which greatly increases Filch's workload. This poor old Squib, it is obvious that a clean-up can solve the problem, but he needs to use those backward cleaning tools to clean for half a day.
On this day, when our Mike woke up, he found that many owls were gathering in front of the window. When they saw Mike open his eyes, these owls immediately pecked the glass with their beaks, signaling Mike to open the window. Mike
quickly got up and opened the window for these owls. He forgot that last night was Christmas Eve. The Christmas customs of the wizarding world are completely different from those of the Muggle world. In the eyes of wizards, Christmas was originally just an excuse for them to be lazy, and then it became a grand festival. So naturally there is no such legend as Santa Claus entering your home through the chimney and putting gifts in the socks at the head of your bed.
Therefore, every household in the wizarding world will leave a gap in the doors and windows on Christmas Eve to facilitate the owls to deliver gifts quietly at night, so that they can see the Christmas gifts in the room when they get up in the morning.
However, our Mike obviously forgot.
Mike did not receive many gifts, only seven. Among them, Franklin handed the gift to Mike in person yesterday. He was not used to sending things by owl. Mike opened it and found that it was a bag of Zizi Bee Candy, which surprised Mike.
You must know that first-year wizards have no way to go to Hogsmeade. If you want to get this exclusive candy of the Duke of Bees, you can only let smugglers like the Weasley brothers bring it. Of course, you know the price.
Mike also gave a gift in return, his own study notes.
This was the most valuable gift he had given out, and he chose the Dolphin Magic Drink for all the other gifts.
Mike had already regarded Franklin as his confidant, and Franklin's talent in spells did not disappoint him, so Mike decided it was time to give Franklin some cheats.
He continued to look through the Christmas gifts. Harry gave him a big box of Bebe's Many Flavour Beans, and Ron gave him an old Gryffindor scarf with a big stain on it. Mike took a look and threw it into the trash can. Hermione gave him a Lockhart novel. I didn't expect this little girl to be obsessed with Lockhart so early.
The Weasley brothers gave him a gift together, a big bag of dung bombs.
Mike was shocked when he opened their gifts. You know, these dung bombs are not very stable. If so many dung bombs exploded in his dormitory, his dormitory would be uninhabitable.
Professor Flitwick gave a set of combat wand sets. Unlike ordinary wand sets, this set of combat wand sets has the word "combat" in it. Well, that's nonsense.
The combat wand sheath is one of the Auror's equipment, and it is installed on the forearm. Its structure is actually somewhat similar to the hidden blade in Assassin's Creed, except that it is driven by magic. When fighting, you only need to think about it to make the wand pop out and enter the combat state instantly.
In addition, the set given by Professor Flitwick also comes with a flying spell. In the future, even if Mike's wand is knocked away by the disarming spell, he doesn't have to worry about it. The flying spell attached to the wand sheath will automatically release the wand back to the user's hand.
Mike put on the wand sheath and moved his arm. He found that it did not affect his movement, and nodded with satisfaction. Professor Flitwick really deserves to be a fighting champion. The gift he gave was simple and violent, which directly improved Mike's combat effectiveness.
The next is the highlight. Miss Penelope gave Mike a notebook as a gift, a study notebook on the Disillusionment Charm for senior pure-blood graduates. On the cover of the notebook was written "To my beloved, Penelope."
However, there was nothing else except this sentence, and there was not even a signature. It seemed that this was a Christmas gift from a dog to Penelope, and Penelope sent it to him overnight after receiving it.
Mike opened the notebook and found the spell of the Disillusionment Charm and the way to wave the wand to experiment. The result was exactly as Mike expected, and there was no reaction at all.
Mike put the notebook in his drawer and did not continue to read it. Today is Christmas, and Hogwarts held a grand celebration all day.
Perhaps because the professors were afraid that the students who stayed on campus would feel lonely, Hogwarts was decorated very gorgeously today.
Mike walked along and found that not only the Ravenclaw lounge was decorated in a festive look, but also the corridors and aisles were decorated anew, and even the usually cold armor was wearing Santa Claus' red hats, which looked very cute.
Not to mention the hall, a tall Christmas tree was placed in the center of the hall. This Christmas tree went straight into the sky. Standing under it and looking up, you can't see its top at all.
A lot of Christmas decorations were arranged on its trunk, shining under the illumination of the magic ceiling. The branches and leaves must have been attached with some magic, and crystal snowflakes kept falling from them. Unlike the snow outside, these snowflakes formed a perfect hexagon as described in fairy tales. These snowflakes slowly fell, but disappeared when they fell to the ground. In such a magical
scene, Harry and others who arrived early had already had a lot of fun. They chased the snowflakes, caught one and watched it slowly disappear in their hands, and continued to catch the next snowflake after a while of distress. They looked like they wanted to take one back as a souvenir.
Even though Mike's mental age was much older than the little wizards present, he couldn't help but lose his mind. This was much more real than the 3D movies in his previous life.
The little wizards were led by professors from various colleges to sit together. Dumbledore did not say anything. With his "Eat!", all kinds of delicious food appeared on the plates in front of the little wizards.
The young wizards cheered and started to fight for the food. Dumbledore sat on a high place and watched the young wizards feasting on the food.
Driven by the atmosphere, Mike's appetite increased. After the Weasley brothers snatched a chicken leg from his plate, a fight for food got out of control.
The professors were not angry. Professor Flitwick even joined in. Even Professor McGonagall, who was usually the strictest, smiled.
On this day, everyone was immersed in the joy of Christmas and put aside all their worries.
