Chapter 38: Shock

Chapter 38: Shock

Late at night, Hagrid, Mike and the other two were walking in the dense woods. The moonlight was very bright today. At first, Mike could use the moonlight to observe the surrounding environment, but as they gradually went deeper into the forbidden forest, the moonlight was blocked by the dense branches and leaves above their heads.

They were very lively around them, with the sound of insects, the rustling of leaves and grass caused by unknown creatures, the roar of unknown creatures from afar, and pairs of eyes reflecting green light that appeared from time to time not far away. All of this reminded everyone that they were not the only creatures in this forest.

Draco and Chris were very nervous, and Thorfinn was trembling all over and could hardly walk.

Not to mention them, even Mike felt creepy. Mike, who had experience in jungle survival, knew better than them the danger of going deep into the jungle at night.

They had just entered the forbidden forest not long ago. Normally, the trees should not be dense enough to block the moonlight. This was simply unscientific.

In this environment, the only person they could rely on was Hagrid, the gamekeeper of Hogwarts.

The torch in Hagrid's hand was like the hope in Pandora's box, attracting the four people to come closer involuntarily.

Hagrid also noticed the tension of the crowd, and comforted them softly: "It's okay, little ones, you are very safe with Fang and I here. Our mission this time is very simple, just check the situation of the unicorns in the Forbidden Forest, they have been a little abnormal recently."

The four people did not respond to Hagrid. They could hear that Hagrid was comforting them, but they really didn't have the mood to thank him now.

Not long after everyone walked, Hagrid stopped.

"Well, now that we are here, I should split up." Hagrid said to everyone.

"What? Split up? Are you crazy or am I crazy? You want us to split up in such a dangerous place?" This is Draco.

Hagrid was a little overwhelmed by Draco's shouting, but he did not change his principles: "We don't have much time. If we don't act separately, we won't be able to make it in time. By the way, you are Mike, right?"

"Yes."

"Oh, I remember you. You were with us when I took Harry to Gringotts last time. Later, Harry often mentioned you and said that he wanted to come to see me with you." "

Yes, I was delayed because of something. Harry told me a lot about you. You are a good person, Hagrid." Mike shrugged and spread his hands to explain.

Hagrid was very happy to receive the good guy card and handed the rope holding Fang to Mike.

"Hahaha, what a good boy. Come, I'll give Fang to you." Hagrid's face covered with thick beard twitched a few times, probably laughing, "According to Professor McGonagall's instructions, you have to be in a group with little Malfoy. And Thorfinn and Chris will follow me. Don't worry, Fang will remind you when there is danger. When the time comes, you will know to cast a signal spell and I will be there."

Mike nodded in agreement. Anyway, it would be useless to be with anyone if he met Voldemort.

Draco on the side disagreed.

"What! You want me to be in the same group with him?" Draco's eyes almost popped out, "Do you know that he broke my nose yesterday? Didn't you say you would protect me? I want to be in the same group with you!"

"Professor McGonagall knows about your grudges, and she thinks you should get along more." Hagrid looked at Draco helplessly, "Okay, go quickly, Mike has already left. You should know that if you don't follow the school rules, you will be expelled even if your father is rich."

Draco heard the voice and looked at Mike who had already walked away, gritted his teeth and followed.

Mike had gradually gotten used to the surrounding environment at this time. He glanced at Draco who was following him silently and didn't care too much.

He was no longer afraid of this trip to the Forbidden Forest. He was fully prepared for it. At this moment, he even looked forward to meeting Voldemort, the top fighting force in the wizarding world.

The two walked slowly under the light of the Lumos. Although the Lumos brought them light, it did not give them a sense of security like a torch.

When Mike was passing by a bush, a glowing object suddenly flew out from it. Draco was so scared that he screamed and turned to run away.

"Shut up! That's an elf!" Mike shouted in a low voice.

Draco stopped his movements after hearing this, and turned his head tremblingly to look at the glowing object.

He saw a Cornish elf with insect wings and a human shape, which was about six centimeters long, waving its claws at him. Draco breathed a sigh of relief. This kind of elf did not have a strong attack power. It was probably because Mike had disturbed his sleep.

"Why are there Cornish elves in the Forbidden Forest? They only live in Cornwall." Draco asked.

"Don't ask such irrelevant questions. Take care of yourself first."

"Mike, you are very strong, right? I know." Draco swallowed his saliva, "If you protect me tonight, I will forgive you for breaking my nose, and let my father give you a large sum of gold galleons."

"Shut up, look at what that is?" Mike ignored Draco, he found something unusual.

In a clearing not far in front of them, there was something emitting a dim silver-white light, which was particularly obvious in the pitch-dark Forbidden Forest.

Mike hurried forward to check.

"What is this?" Draco asked.

"Unicorn blood." Mike rubbed a little of the silver-white liquid with his hand, "Looks like we found it."

"Unicorns are very powerful creatures. What kind of creature can hurt them?" Draco was a little scared. "Let's go. It's too dangerous. Just pretend we didn't find anything."

Mike ignored Draco. If you want to achieve a perfect Disillusionment Spell to hide the magic restrictions of the Restricted Books Section, you need an item that can emit a lot of magic power to cover up your magic fluctuations, and the blood of a powerful magical creature is the best choice.

Originally, Mike was going to use dragon blood. It happened that Hagrid's Norwegian Styracosaurus would be born soon, and he could steal it and bleed it then.

But now he has a better choice, unicorn blood.

Mike began to observe the surroundings, and saw the silver-white fluorescent blood of the unicorn spreading far away. It seemed that the unicorn was injured.

Mike and Draco followed the blood trail and soon found the end of it.

They saw a unicorn emitting holy silver light lying motionless on the grass, and a black figure was pounced on it and gnawed it. Silver-white blood continued to spread from under the unicorn's body, forming a large pool of glowing blood.

Go fight Voldemort tomorrow!
