Chapter 58 The Burrow
"You mean the Weasleys, right? Of course I know. Also, do you want chocolate? Just add four silver Sickles and you can..."
Before the conductor could finish speaking, Mike went up to the second floor of the Knight Bus, leaving the conductor standing there at a loss.
There were several single beds on the second floor of the Knight Bus, and a few hemp ropes were placed on the beds. This should be the seat belts in the wizarding world, which were really simple.
Mike called the conductor up, collected the pillows from other empty beds and put them on his back, and asked him to help tie Mike firmly to the bed, and then ordered the driver to drive. There
was another deafening roar, and the Knight Bus started.
Mike only felt a strong push on his back, and the scenery outside the window turned into a stream of light and flew backwards. The speed of this magic car was really amazing. Compared with it, Mr. Weasley's modified flying car was simply garbage.
When the sky gradually darkened, the Knight Bus finally arrived at its destination, the Burrow.
Mike was helped off the bus by the conductor. The driver drove in such a wild way. Drifting was normal. Have you ever seen a right-angle turn on the spot? Obviously, this magic car was cast with space magic, so there was no need to worry about obstacles at all, but the driver still drove like a jerk.
Mike swore that he would never take the Knight Bus again. He would just sit by the fireplace. This experience was really terrible.
Suppressing the nausea in his stomach, Mike looked up and saw a four-story building that was crooked and extremely unscientific.
The Weasley family's burrow looked very magical to Muggles, which was very consistent with their impression of wizards' residences. However, in the eyes of wizards, it was an extremely poor house.
Wizards are also human beings. In fact, their aesthetics are not much different from those of normal Muggles. They also like gorgeously decorated villas and classical and luxurious manors. So the real wizard's residence should be like Professor Flitwick and Malfoy Manor, which looks no different from ordinary Muggle buildings, but has a lot of secrets inside.
Just as Mike was looking at the Burrow, a little red-haired girl poked her head out of the door, and when she saw Mike standing outside the house, she quickly shrank back. Not long after, the Weasley brothers and Franklin came out.
"Mike, why are you here at this time?" George opened his arms and hugged Mike and said, "Where's Errol? Why didn't he come back?"
After hugging everyone who came to greet him, Mike explained, "Are you talking about the old owl with almost no hair? I left it at Professor Flitwick's house to rest. You are so stingy. You actually use such an old owl to deliver letters. Aren't you afraid that it will die of exhaustion on the way? You earn..."
Before Mike finished speaking, George covered his mouth with his hand.
He looked nervously in the direction of the Burrow, and when he saw that no one noticed, he breathed a sigh of relief, and raised his index finger to his mouth to make a silent gesture.
As soon as Mike saw him like this, he knew that the Weasley brothers must not have honestly told the Weasleys about their partnership to make money, or at least concealed the amount of money they made. Of course, Mike also understood their actions. With Mrs. Weasley's temper, she would definitely confiscate all of the nearly 6,000 gold galleons they made in just one year, so she nodded to George.
George then let go of his hand covering Mike's mouth. He wanted to say something to Mike, but he saw Mike making an OK gesture to them and walked towards the Burrow, so he had to follow everyone.
As soon as they entered the Burrow, the smell of grilled sausages filled the air. Mrs. Weasley was waving her wand in front of the stove, and pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils were flying in the air. One sausage after another was grilled until both sides were browned, and then automatically floated into the dinner plate that had been prepared on the side.
After the last sausage was grilled, Mrs. Weasley noticed Mike.
She wiped her hands on her apron and said with a smile, "You must be Mike, come and sit down. George and Fred have told me about your business. You have earned 200 gold galleons in one semester. It's amazing. When will you invite that child named Dolphin to be a guest? I know about the Carrow family. They are very pitiful."
Mike was shocked when he heard what Mrs. Weasley said. 6,000 gold galleons were said to be 200 gold galleons. The Weasley brothers were so stingy to their own mother. She
despised the Weasley brothers in her heart but did not show it on her face. She smiled and replied, "You are too kind. We can only make money because of George and Fred. By the way, I brought gifts for everyone this time. I almost forgot."
As she spoke, Mike took out gifts one after another from the bag of the traceless extension spell. Mrs. Weasley wanted to be polite, but as Mike took out more and more things, and they were all things she had never seen before, her attention was drawn to the gifts.
Not only her, but everyone in the room gathered around unconsciously, even the little red-haired girl who was hiding on the second floor and watching them secretly was led down.
"Here, this is for you, recipes from all over the world. I think you will definitely like it.
This is for you, Franklin, the latest gameboy handheld game console and 20 matching cassettes, not bad.
This is for you, Ginny. A sterling silver hairpin, don't be shy, come and get it, look, there are beads on it, for you..."
Looking at the remaining remote control car on the ground, Mike remembered that there seemed to be someone missing here, so he asked, "Where is Mr. Weasley?"
However, no one paid attention to him.
Mrs. Weasley was happily flipping through the recipes, and the little girl Ginny rushed back to the second floor as soon as she got the hairpin, probably to look in the mirror. Ron and the Weasley brothers threw the MP3 that Mike gave them aside, and curiously surrounded Franklin to study the gameboy handheld game console.
Mike spread his hands and shrugged his shoulders. Seeing that no one paid attention to him, he had to sit down and taste the grilled sausages that Mrs. Weasley had just made. It's true, the food made by Mrs. Weasley is quite delicious, and it doesn't sound like something made by a British wizard at all.
Just as Mike was eating with gusto, the magic clock on the wall suddenly made a loud music, and a pointer with Mr. Weasley's photo on it turned to the position marking the home.
Then a slightly fat middle-aged man with red hair pushed open the door.
"Wow, why is the house so lively today?" Mr. Weasley put his hat on the shoe cabinet at the door and asked in surprise at everyone in the room.
Then he noticed the things in everyone's hands, opened his mouth in surprise, and said in a trembling voice: "Where... where do these things come from?"
