Chapter 69 Dinner

Chapter 69 Dinner

Before Percy sat down, George and Fred made room for him and asked him to sit between them. George even handed Percy a cookie.

Percy was so embarrassed that he just wanted to find a hole to hide in. Seeing his two brothers making room for him, he thought that his brothers were more reliable, so he sat down without thinking. He did not refuse the cookie George handed him, and stuffed it into his mouth. He had been soaking in the Black Lake for a long time and was already hungry.

Percy obviously forgot that his two brothers also had a famous title "King of Pranks".

As soon as the seemingly ordinary cookie went down his stomach, orange-red flames began to appear all over Percy's body. Percy was horrified when he found that he was on fire, and began to beat the flames desperately.

However, the flames were like the legendary fierce fire, and they could not be extinguished at all.

In a hurry, Percy did not care about whether he was embarrassed or not, and lay on the ground and began to roll back and forth, hoping to put out the fire. The little wizards around cried out in surprise, but the Weasley brothers looked at Percy's miserable appearance and didn't help him. They just laughed out loud.

After rolling on the ground for a while, Percy found something unusual. Although the flames looked scary, he didn't feel burned by the flames, and even his clothes didn't catch fire. On the contrary, he felt warm and comfortable. The coolness brought by the cold water in the Black Lake and the cold wind for a while was completely driven away by the flames.

He climbed up from the floor with difficulty, and saw George and Fred were about to die of laughter. He was furious and opened his mouth to say something. But the expected curse didn't come out, instead, a flame with black smoke spurted out of Percy's throat.

The little wizards around didn't know that this was just another prank of the Weasley brothers. Seeing Percy with a ferocious expression and spitting fire, they also laughed.

Mike saw all the scenes there, and he couldn't help but sneered when he saw Percy's body on fire.

There are seven Weasley brothers and sisters. Apart from Ron, who is a hopeless person, Percy is the most useless.

Just talking about the incident just now, if it was George or Fred who fell into the Black Lake, they would definitely regard the laughter in the hall as a compliment rather than a mockery, and even brag to others about their experience of falling into the Black Lake and fighting the Hu monster inside.

This approach is much better than being a coward like Percy. Let's not talk about

other colleges for now. At least many people in Gryffindor will definitely want to try the feeling of close contact with the Black Lake Monster.

Professor McGonagall, who had returned to the outside of the hall to reorganize the order of the freshmen, returned to the hall again. The noisy environment in the hall made Professor McGonagall very angry. She yelled at all the old students again, which made the excited students quiet down again.

Professor McGonagall looked at the people who had returned to calmness and nodded slightly, and walked to the Sorting Hat in the center of the hall. She coughed lightly, waved her wand lightly, and the door of the hall opened automatically.

The freshmen outside the gate lined up neatly and walked into the auditorium tremblingly under the gaze of all the seniors and professors.

They also heard the laughter in the auditorium before, and looked at the people in the auditorium curiously, but found that the atmosphere in the auditorium was quite serious, and they couldn't help but get nervous again.

When all the freshmen entered the auditorium, the Sorting Hat in the center of the auditorium sang the Sorting Song that it had spent a whole year preparing carefully. After

the song was sung, everyone in the auditorium responded with the most enthusiastic applause. Mike was drowsy listening to it. He really couldn't understand the aesthetics of the wizarding world for music. In his opinion, the level of the Sorting Hat's singing was not even as good as the rap of Cai in his previous life.

The Sorting Ceremony was nothing to watch. After the Sorting Hat peeked into their brains, the little wizards were sorted into their respective colleges. Mike suspected that the original intention of the Sorting Hat was to identify those dark wizards who wanted to sneak into Hogwarts.

Whenever a freshman is assigned, there will be a burst of warm cheers in the college he is assigned to. Mike was treated in the same way in his first year. At first, he felt a little flattered, but later he realized that this was just a routine operation.

A freshman girl with long light golden hair attracted Mike's attention.

It's not that this girl is so beautiful, but her temperament is completely different from the freshmen around her.

A pair of huge carrot earrings appear and disappear in her light golden hair as the little girl walks, and she also wears a necklace made of butter beer bottle caps around her neck. The most eye-catching thing is her silver-gray eyes. Other freshmen either have erratic eyes and look very nervous, or look around curiously, but her eyes are calm, as if everything in front of her has nothing to do with her.

"You like her so much?" Penelope noticed Mike's actions and poked Mike with her arm.

"Why, are you jealous?" Mike replied calmly, "That's Luna Lovegood. Her family is a neighbor of the Weasleys. I met her once during the summer vacation. Oh, by the way. Her father seems to be the editor-in-chief of The Quibbler."

Penelope looked at Mike doubtfully for a few times, and did not ask any more questions.

The sorting ceremony for the freshmen ended quickly. Before the banquet began, Dumbledore solemnly introduced this year's new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Lockhart.

Lockhart was wearing a pink suit today, with sleek hair, looking very coquettish.

When he heard Dumbledore introduce him, he stood up from the teacher's seat, showed his signature smile to the audience, and bowed slightly.

His appearance reignited the atmosphere in the hall, and the witches in the hall responded to him with the warmest cheers. An unknown senior student not far from Mike fainted from excitement. At this moment, she was being held in the arms of the boy next to her and her Ren Zhong was being pinched. Seeing the boy's delighted face, Mike guessed that he must have taken advantage of the senior student.

Mike also noticed that even the librarian, Madam Pince, had her arms crossed over her chest, as if her heart was beating too fast and she was about to faint, while Filch looked at Lockhart with a bad face.

When everyone finally quieted down, Dumbledore announced the official start of the dinner.

With his order, a large number of exquisite delicacies suddenly appeared on the originally empty long table. Now, except for a few crazy fans who were still looking at Lockhart, everyone started to eat with their heads covered.
