Chapter 96 The Second Attack
As soon as the three of them walked out of the principal's office, Flitwick sent the pockmarked girl away.
The girl didn't say anything, but skipped away. Seeing the gossip in her eyes, Mike felt that what happened in the principal's office today would soon spread throughout Hogwarts.
Seeing the girl gradually walking away, Professor Flitwick comforted her: "Don't worry, Mike, it's okay, I believe you."
Mike was still in the absolute rationality caused by the brain block. Facing Professor Flitwick's comfort, his heart was not shaken. He forced a fake smile and nodded slightly to Professor Flitwick to show his gratitude.
"Here, I know you have a good relationship with Penelope, I hope you won't be too sad." Flitwick handed Mike a note, "This is the approval note I wrote, take this and go see Penelope. Don't worry about the class. With your grades, it's okay to miss a few classes. I will go to greet other professors."
Mike took the note in a daze and almost couldn't maintain the brain block. From Professor Flitwick's words, Mike felt Professor Flitwick's sincere feelings for him.
He took the initiative to exit the closed brain state, put away the fake smile on his face, and bowed deeply to Flitwick.
Mike felt that it was an insult to him to continue to maintain a fake smile in front of such a teacher.
"Thank you, Dean!"
Professor Flitwick showed a look of relief on his face when he heard it, patted Mike on the shoulder and said, "Go, kid. This is what I should do. As your dean, I didn't protect you well, I should apologize to you."
Mike didn't continue to be hypocritical. After saying goodbye to Professor Flitwick, he ran to the infirmary.
When Mike arrived at the infirmary, a group of people had already gathered at the door of the infirmary. These people were all here to visit Penelope. But Mike knew that these people were just here to watch the fun, so he didn't give them a good face. He squeezed through the crowd all the way. After knocking down several people, Mike finally came to the infirmary.
Mrs. Bonfleur blocked Mike like a door god and said impatiently: "The infirmary is under martial law now. No one is allowed to visit Miss Penelope."
Mike handed over the approval slip given by Professor Flitwick and walked into Penelope's ward in the envious eyes of everyone.
Penelope, lying on the bed, still maintained the appearance when she was petrified, with that smile on her face.
Looking at that bright smile, Mike gradually became infatuated. Mike is not a little kid who knows nothing. He certainly knows Penelope's feelings for him, but because this body is too small, he did not respond to Penelope. I don't
know how long he watched, Mike suddenly noticed that Penelope's bangs were a little messy, and instinctively reached out to help her smooth it out.
But when his hand touched Penelope's forehead, he froze. The hardness and coldness from his fingertips reminded Mike that the girl in front of him had been petrified.
The cold reality once again made Mike understand the cruelty of the world.
Mike suppressed the anger in his heart and entered an absolutely rational closed brain state and walked out of the infirmary. He was going to investigate the scene to see if there were any clues. Anger would only affect his judgment.
After walking out of the infirmary, Mike realized that it was already dark outside. He had actually stayed in the infirmary for a whole day.
Without much hesitation, Mike walked quickly to the Ravenclaw Tower. It was late at night and it was the best time for him to go to the scene to investigate.
"Rustle..."
Before he walked far, Mike heard a rustling sound similar to that of a snake crawling. The sound was very faint, but it was particularly loud in the quiet corridor late at night.
Mike's heart was alarmed. With a flick of his wrist, the black prickly pear wood wand appeared in his hand. With a light wave, a transparent protective cover wrapped Mike's whole body. At the same time, Mike quickly closed his eyes, and his magic perception surged around like a tide.
"Rustle..."
The strange rustling sound was getting closer and closer. Mike knew that the basilisk must be near him, but Mike did not find anything abnormal in his magic perception field.
In the corridor at night, you know that a dangerous giant python is approaching slowly with its scarlet tongue spitting out, ready to deliver a fatal blow to you at any time...
If it were anyone else, they would have been sweating with nervousness by now. Fortunately, Mike had entered the closed brain state early. With the buff of absolute rationality, Mike was very calm in monitoring the magic perception field, and even his heartbeat did not change at all.
Suddenly, something abnormal appeared in Mike's magic perception field.
At the corner not far away, a suit of armor suddenly moved.
"Flames!"
Mike didn't care about anything and just fired a fireball.
In the magic field of vision, a ball of fire with dazzling magic light was launched from the tip of the staff. However, the ball of fire suddenly exploded as if it encountered some transparent obstacle during its flight, turning into sparks all over the sky.
Mike secretly said in his heart that it was not good. The skin of the basilisk actually had the ability to block magic perception. The basilisk must have closed its eyes and relied on the pheromones collected by its tongue to determine the direction.
He pulled back violently, and at the same time, he waved his wand violently, and tennis-sized fireballs flew in the direction of the previous big fireball.
Mike was ready to run away.
Before the second grade started, Mike had already been thinking about how to deal with the basilisk. The most difficult thing about the basilisk is that anyone who looks at it will die instantly, and Mike's strategy to deal with it is to close his eyes and use magic perception.
However, the plan really can't keep up with the changes. Mike never expected that the basilisk's skin has the ability to block magic perception. And this basilisk is also very intelligent, and it can cleverly use this to sneak.
Now that the plan has failed from the first step, Mike has only one way left, which is to escape.
"Boom boom boom..."
Listening to the roar coming from behind, Mike ran towards the infirmary without looking back, and even cast a wind speed spell on himself on the way.
Due to the martial law, the school specially arranged several senior students to guard the infirmary day and night. As long as Mike arrived at the infirmary, he could get several free thugs.
The fire spell didn't seem to have much effect on the basilisk. It didn't even scream under the attack of so many fireballs.
The basilisk seemed to know that Mike had discovered it, so it simply stopped sneaking and pounced on Mike.
Mike, who was running away, suddenly felt his heart tighten, and he dodged to the side, passing by the bloody mouth of the basilisk...
