Gang Niang asked him if he still wanted to eat, and he said no...
Cheng Zhenzhu smiled. "Eat if you want."
"One mouthful." Peng Santi grabbed the spoon, blew on it twice, and fed it to his brother.
"Delicious!" Peng Ertiao narrowed his eyes and grinned.
"Mom will serve you another bowl." Cheng Zhenzhu stood up, got a spoon for Ertiao, and brought a bowl over.
It is true that children get hungry quickly.
"Thank you, Mom~" Peng Ertiao grabbed the spoon, gulped, and his eyes were full of joy.
"Oh~" Liu Tiao, lying in Cheng Zhenzhu's arms, opened his eyes wide, opened his mouth, and grabbed with his hands to get closer to the bowl.
Cheng Zhenzhu took the little guy's hand back and fed him egg custard. "Eggs are delicious too. In a few months, mother will cook and serve you some vegetables."
Liu Tiao is almost a year old now. After a while, he can try to eat some rice and vegetables. The vegetables are different from what they eat, but you can slowly add some flavors...
After dinner, Er Tiao and San Tiao left the table and skipped out to play in the yard. They hadn't forgotten about building the shed. They could prepare some firewood before their brother came back.
Cheng Zhenzhu was packing six pieces of old clothes. She had already washed them all, so they were clean. She hadn't bought any homespun cloth yet, so she was looking to see if there was room for alterations on the few pieces.
There weren't many clothes to begin with, most of them old and torn. Only Ertiao had a complete set of clothes, probably because he took good care of them. Cheng Zhenzhu picked out two relatively good ones for Yitiao and Santiao, then cut up an old piece of clothing of similar color to patch up the holes in Yitiao and Santiao's clothes.
Of course, to make sure the patches look nice, she cut out animal outlines. Last time, several of them wanted pandas, so she cut out panda outlines and sewed them on.
Liu Tiao seemed to know that his mother was busy, and he sat in her arms without making any trouble, playing with his hands.
"Mom, it's a panda!" Peng Ertiao ran over, took a look and said.
"Panda, Sandiao's~" Peng Sandiao recognized that this was his own clothes, his eyes shining.
"Well, I'm sewing three now. I'll sew two more on the two pairs of pants later." No matter how well-protected a pair of clothes is, there will still be holes, especially around the knees.
Peng Er's eyes lit up and he nodded heavily, "Okay!"
After patching up three strips of clothing, Cheng Zhenzhu cut up the remaining clothes and pants. The complete pieces were made into six diapers. The incomplete ones were sewn together to make foot and table cloths.
She is also serious about saving.
After the panda was sewn, Peng Ertiao happily held the pants with the panda on them and gestured around, then began to imagine himself wearing the pants out, drawing envious glances from his friends.
"It's beautiful!" Peng Sandiao picked at his clothes excitedly. He had so many pandas, even more than his second brother...
After packing up her old clothes, Cheng Zhenzhu got out two packages of candy and canned fruit, each containing half a pound of candy and two cans of fruit, along with a few biscuits. These were sent by Cheng Zhenzhu's parents along with the malted milk. She planned to use these to exchange with Sister Yumei and the others for some dried squid to send back.
"Come on, Mom will take you to Aunt Yumei's house to play."
"Tangtang, lots of it~" Peng Santiao wasn't very interested in going out to play. His attention was focused on the candies and oranges his mother brought.
"Well, let's take this to your Aunt Yumei and exchange it for some dried squid. Grandma and the others said dried squid is delicious, so let's send some back. Later we'll go to Aunt Daming to exchange some..."
Peng San Tiao nodded and stretched out his two little hands, "Help me cool down~"
Seeing this, Peng Ertiao also wanted to help get it.
Cheng Zhenzhu looked at the two little kids who volunteered, and asked the second one to hold the canned fruit and the third one to hold the bags of candy and biscuits.
Then the two kids happily followed their mother, holding their things...
"Sister Yumei, are you home?" Cheng Zhenzhu shouted from outside.
Peng Ertiao's voice was loud and clear, and he joined in the shouting, "Aunt Yumei, Erwa, Ertiao is here. Erwa, are you home?"
Soon the door opened and a little kid ran out quickly, "Aunt Pearl, Er Tiao, why are you here?"
"Change to Yuyu~" Peng San Tiao thought for a while and replied.
"We brought you some candy." Peng Ertiao pointed to the bag in Santiao's hand, then to the two cans in his arms. "And some canned fruit. Let's trade them for some dried squid."
Erwa's eyes lit up as he looked at the candies and canned fruits. He turned around and called out to his mother. "Mom, Aunt Pearl is here with some delicious food again."
"Shh." Peng Ertiao put his index finger to his lips and whispered, "Erwa, keep a low profile."
"Yes, keep a low profile." Peng Erwa remembered what Er Tiao had said last time and remembered it again. "Aunt Zhenzhu, come in quickly and let's talk quietly."
Cheng Zhenzhu was amused by the childish talk. These two little kids had reached a consensus.
"Sister Zhenzhu, come in quickly." You Yumei washed her hands and happily invited the mother and son into the house.
Cheng Zhenzhu asked Ertiao and Santiao to give the things to You Yumei. "Sister Yumei, I'm here to exchange for dried squid again. My family likes it, so I sent some specially for it. I wanted to exchange some for it."
"Why are there so many things again? And they are so valuable. No, take them back. How can my dried squid be worth these things? You gave me a lot last time..." You Yumei returned the things to Cheng Zhenzhu, and then went to get the dried squid and other dry goods.
Peng Erwa was watching from the side, and felt a little disappointed when his mother stuffed the food back in. He had eaten canned fruit before; it was sweet, with soft flesh, and it was delicious!
