Chapter 4: Traveling to the 1960s

"Resurrection from the dead?" Zhang Siyu stared at the completely unfamiliar, weathered face in the mirror, muttering in a daze.

It's incredible.

She died in a car accident, but now she is alive in another body and has inherited the memories of her body.

Zhang Siyu sorted out the strange memories that did not belong to her in her mind and realized that it was now 1969.

The name of this body is Cheng Zhenzhu. She is from Hai City and is the second child in the family. She has an older sister, Cheng Zhenyu, and a younger brother, Cheng Zhenbao.

Cheng Zhenzhu's father, Cheng Fugui, was a chef in a state-owned restaurant, and her mother, Zhao Fangrui, worked in an office in a government agency. Their family was safe and wealthy, and was the envy of many people in that era.

In the summer of 1962, after graduating from high school at the age of 18, Cheng Zhenzhu went to the remote Sanshi Island in the countryside despite her family's dissuasion.

On Sanshi Island, Cheng Zhenzhu met her husband Peng Aiqing.

The two quickly confirmed their relationship and got married the following year, starting a family. As a delicate girl from the city, often receiving money and gifts from her parents, the islanders didn't quite understand why Cheng Zhenzhu would marry Peng Aiqing, a man disdained by her parents and considered unlucky.

But no matter how much they don't understand, it won't be a waste of time for two people to have two children in three years.

Peng Aiqing is a down-to-earth and capable person, and Cheng Zhenzhu often has help from her family, so the family's life gradually improves.

As a result, just five months ago, Cheng Zhenzhu's husband Peng Aiqing died in the sea, leaving only her and three hungry babies with a cold corpse.

Her husband was gone, and she was a widow with three children. Her in-laws avoided her like the very plague. Cheng Zhenzhu felt like the sky was falling, and gradually, she developed some depression tendencies as she was already sensitive.

Just today, Cheng Zhenzhu received a letter and a package from her parents' home.

The letter told her and Peng Aiqing to live their own lives, not to worry too much about home, and not to send them anything anymore, as they still had several children to raise...

Adults often collapse in a split second. Five months had passed since Peng Aiqing passed away, and Cheng Zhenzhu hadn't dared to tell her family. Seeing the caring words on the note, Cheng Zhenzhu was overcome with grief, so devastated that she took medication.

Although the dosage was mild, Cheng Zhenzhu never woke up again.

Instead, it was she, Zhang Siyu, a dead person who came back to life through this still warm body.

Zhang Siyu had mixed feelings. Being able to survive was a blessing, and she was grateful for the opportunity. But for Cheng Zhenzhu, it was also a tragedy.

There were also several nephews who had been waiting for her, and she hadn't had the chance to see them for the last time... But no matter what, she was really glad that Xiao An and the others were not in the car at the time...

"It's cold." Peng Santi, the eldest son of Cheng Zhenzhu's family, suddenly woke up. The first thing he did was to sit up and look for his mother.

Peng San Tiao hugged the small quilt, looking around with his moist eyes, his voice trembling. "It's cold, I don't want to sleep anymore..."

When Zhang Siyu heard the sound, she tried to calm her mixed emotions and pushed the door open to see.

When Peng Sandiao saw his mother, he pouted and cried in grievance.

He saw that his mother was gone... Thinking of this, Peng Sandiao burst into tears. "Wow, she's gone, she flew away, she's gone..."

"Don't cry, don't cry." Zhang Siyu looked at the baby who was wearing a small piece of clothing, with red eyes, curled up in a ball, and tried to comfort him.

This is Cheng Zhenzhu's youngest son, Peng San Tiao, right?

As I recall, the three children in Cheng Zhenzhu's family all had distinct personalities.

The eldest child, Peng Yitiao, is 6 years old. He is active and doesn’t like going to school. Every time he does his homework, he looks bitter and resentful.

The second child, Peng Ertiao, is 4 years old and has a lively personality. He runs after his brother every day and would never wear torn clothes.

The third child, Peng Santi, is two years old. He is a delicate and clingy little boy. Apart from sleeping, he just sticks to people like Cheng Zhenzhu.

Then, without exception, all three children grew up dark.

This is completely different from her fair and well-behaved nephews...

"Wow, Liang, hug me..." Peng San Tiao bit back tears and eagerly stretched out his hand to Zhang Siyu. "Can you hug me?"

The little baby is scared.

Zhang Siyu listened to the child's kitten-like cry and couldn't help but feel soft-hearted. "Hug me, don't cry."

Is this a telepathic connection? This child seemed to sense Cheng Zhenzhu's departure...

Zhang Siyu stroked the little baby's back to comfort him, and at the same time, she was also comforting her own restless heart.

Cheng Zhenzhu's emotions were surging, and she couldn't suppress them no matter how hard she tried.

"I will take good care of your children." Zhang Siyu rubbed her splitting head and said this slowly.

After saying this, the emotions surging in my body immediately faded...

Zhang Siyu covered her stuffy chest.

She was living under the identity of Cheng Zhenzhu, with several children crying for food, and she couldn't just abandon them. But would Cheng Zhenzhu, the biological mother of these children, really choose to leave like this...

Zhang Siyu picked up the little baby and said, "San Tiao, are you hungry?"

"My stomach is rumbling~" Peng Sandiao nestled in a familiar embrace, clutching his mother's clothes to wipe away his tears.

"Then sit down, three of you. I'll get you something to eat, okay?"

"No, no..." Peng Santiago immediately shook his head, and his thin little body curled up tightly in Zhang Siyu's arms, pulling Zhang Siyu's clothes hard with his little hands.

Zhang Siyu was a little helpless. This little kid was too clingy to his mother. "I'll carry you."
