Chapter 13 Sacrifices (Part 1)



"It's almost the anniversary of my late father's death, isn't it?"

Li Yue was taken aback, wondering why this was suddenly brought up, but he still nodded and replied, "Ten days later is the anniversary of the founding emperor's death."

Then, the little girl, seemingly unable to face a certain fact, collapsed onto the bed, covered her head with the blanket, and muttered to herself:

"How could it be so fast? Only ten days left? What if Master finds out I've been naughty... No, no!"

The last few words suddenly rose in volume.

They used fists and feet to turn the bed upside down under the covers, and the rosewood bed, a tribute from the South China Sea, could not withstand the onslaught.

Li Yue was extremely surprised, not knowing what he had just said that triggered the emotional breakdown of the ghost.

The emperor sensed that something was wrong. While mortal children might kick and punch things when they were angry, the wrath of ghosts and gods could be bloodthirsty!

"Auntie, calm down, there's always a way," Li Yue tried to reassure her.

Such a commotion would have brought even the dead servants of Fengyang Palace back to life; outside the palace, people and horses were thrown about in chaos.

Yan Pei's expression was solemn. He led his men to ram the palace gate. More than a dozen eunuchs exerted force together, but the wooden gate did not even shake.

Faced with the true wonders of ghosts and gods, no one was not deeply terrified; the palace servants trembled and wept in fear.

"Why are you crying! His Majesty and the Princess of Qin are blood relatives; they will be alright."

Yan Pei shouted to control the situation, and his voice carried through the palace doors. Li Yue felt somewhat relieved despite his anxiety.

Suddenly, it seemed as if the ghosts and spirits inside the blankets had also heard these words, and slowly stopped tossing and turning. Li Yue felt hopeful and was about to speak.
