Chapter 69 Moon Goddess Chang Xi

"Qin? You mean the Qin Dynasty? I don't understand which specific era it refers to," Ling Xiao asked.

"Wait, didn't the Qin Dynasty only last two generations? It was such a short time."

Ling Xiao rolled her eyes. "Isn't Qin the same as Qin? And how can the Qin before it conquered the six states be the same as the Qin before it conquered the six states?"

The system light ball paused, then awkwardly admitted that it hadn't considered things thoroughly.

I can't tell anything from just the character "Qin," so I might as well enter the mission world first.

The system helped Ling Xiao break through the spatial barrier and arrive in the Qin Dynasty.

As soon as he landed, he couldn't wait to check his cheats and quests.

"Host, this time we are carrying the All-Star System, and our goal is to cultivate a superstar who will be popular in ancient times!"

Your status is so high that you can influence the fate of a country; from the emperor to ordinary people, everyone is your fan.

To acquire a piece of land that one can fully control, to teach students to sing and dance, to pass on skills, and to leave a lasting legacy.

With a long face, looking like he was about to vomit blood, he thought, "How could it be so difficult?"

"Host, let's abandon the mission. The Supreme God is not human."

Everyone knows that in ancient society, actors and entertainers belonged to the lowest class, a status even beggars despised. How could they possibly achieve the level of excellence required by the All-Star System?

Ling Xiao glanced at the system strangely, thinking to himself, "Didn't you realize that I've already started smoothly criticizing the main god?"

"Why are you so pessimistic? I think the All-Star system is pretty good. Tell me about its features."

The system's explanation was weak and listless; it was a very ordinary entertainment system, mainly involving completing tasks to obtain skills such as acting, singing, and beauty.

Because it's an all-star system, the professions include actors, singers, screenwriters, directors, and more.

"I would say that this system would be a waste of talent in ancient times, but in modern times it could create a superstar of the century in no time."

Ling Xiao's eyes lit up. "Can this be done part-time? Like, writing, directing, and acting in something myself?"

"Of course you can. Otherwise, why would it be called the All-Star System? It's to encourage participants to take on as many roles as possible."

"Great, I understand how to complete the mission now."

System: Confused?

I have a slightly bad feeling.

Ling Xiao smiled, her eyes crinkling, and received the All-Star System's newbie gift pack, "A Dance That Captivates the City: Your dance is unlike anything in this world."

...........................................

In the 22nd year of King Zheng of Qin's reign, Wang Ben, son of Qin general Wang Jian, led his army to conquer and destroy the State of Wei in one fell swoop.

Thus, Qin conquered the three kingdoms!

The victorious army escorted the disheveled members of the Wei royal family and the captured gold and silver treasures back to Xianyang.

It wasn't until late at night that Wang Ben ordered the Qin army to set up camp on the spot, and he himself slept fully clothed in his tent.

For some reason, he fell asleep exceptionally quickly today, almost instantly drifting off to sleep the moment he closed his eyes.

They secretly drugged him...

Wang Ben opened his eyes in confusion, but quickly realized that he was not in a military tent!

What happened? Was he taken away by remnants of the Wei Kingdom who attacked the military camp, or was he kidnapped by the army in a mutiny?

Neither.

Wang Ben slowly opened his eyes wide, staring incredulously at the scene before him.

Beneath my feet float the ethereal white clouds, and above me, the bright moon seems so close, as if there were a cold, silent, yet incomparably magnificent palace above me.

Deep within the moon palace, a voice cried out, "Hurry to the moon palace!"

The sound was ethereal and otherworldly, as beautiful as the music of a xiao (a type of Chinese flute).

Wang Ben didn't hesitate for long before stepping into the Moon Palace.

I passed by a tall, transparent osmanthus tree, like glass, and a burly man with a blank expression under it.

Wang Ben was almost constantly on his feet; it was all too miraculous.

Before long, the sound of orchestral music could be heard clearly. Following the music, one could see the figure of a "woman" dancing in the empty hall.

He had a face that could be described as divine, with his hair combed high and as thick and black as clouds, and his snow-white neck as long and slender as a swan's, not to mention his flawless skin and slender waist.

But the woman's dance moves were enough to make people forget her appearance; she was as graceful as a startled swan and as lithe as a swimming dragon.

Every gesture and movement seemed to touch one's heart; it was hard to tell whether it was a deity or a demon.

After the dance ended, he suddenly bent his waist and spun to finish, his clear eyes meeting Wang Ben's.

A faint, nameless fragrance wafted through the air, soothing the soul. The general, accustomed to mountains of corpses and seas of blood, lowered his head in disarray and said:

"Who are you, and why have you summoned me?"

During the pre-Qin period, stories of immortals and mortals meeting were common, such as King Mu of Zhou and the Queen Mother of the West, and King Xiang of Chu and the goddess of Wushan, almost all of which involved a bit of love.

Wang Ben couldn't help but let his mind wander at this moment.

However, the goddess quickly broke his romantic reverie with a soft laugh:

"I am Changxi, the Moon Goddess, who has long resided in the Moon Palace. Who knew that the Heavenly Emperor would decree that I would spend the next hundred years expelling evil gods and demons from the mortal realm?"

The Moon Goddess then revealed a slightly troubled expression. "The other day, you diverted the waters of the Yellow River and the Honggou Canal to flood the Wei Kingdom's Daliang City. You made a grave mistake."

"The Moon Goddess's Appearance"

Wang Ben looked anxious. "Flooding Daliang and injuring the people was a last resort. If we hadn't done this, and Wei had stubbornly resisted, we would have suffered even more casualties."

Why are you saying all this?

The stunningly beautiful moon goddess frowned slightly, casually waved her hand, and said indifferently:

"What do human wars and battles have to do with us? It's just another cycle of life and death."

Wang Ben choked. Wouldn't the gods and immortals in heaven care about the death of a mere mortal? A chill ran from his limbs to the tip of his heart.

The Moon Goddess continued:
