Chapter 131 Pillar Falls into Water

Qin Yecai plans to wait until this period of time has passed and everyone has forgotten about this matter before bringing it up again. After all, if she makes a move now, everyone will know that it was her. But even if people have doubts after a while, they can't directly say that she did it.

The villagers were waiting to see what would happen, but after waiting for so long without any news, they wondered if Qin Yecai had become scared. That wasn't her usual personality, and they were quite puzzled.

Liang Tiantian herself had been a little scared during this time, but seeing that there had been no movement for so long, she thought that Qin Yecai was not afraid of her and became smug again.

Little did Liang Tiantian know, something even bigger was waiting for her.

Time flies by so steadily, and before we knew it, it was July of the following year, and the weather was getting hot.

The cowshed in the village is now occupied by three people: Lin Jiancheng, Hao Licheng, and Su Jingyu. They were all sent down to the countryside, all over 50 years old, from big cities, and all had difficulty walking. They had no choice but to endure hunger.

"Grandpa, I'm here. I brought you some branches I picked up on the mountain, and some wild vegetables. The person speaking is Wang Chengcai. He just came down from the mountain."

"Here it comes, Chengcai. Take this back. You've suffered so much, only 13 years old. You and your younger brother go up the mountain every day. It's not easy for you. We're adults now, don't worry about us," Lin Jianhui said to him.

"Grandpa, don't worry about me and my brother. I specially picked these on the mountain for you. We have enough at home. These wild vegetables aren't very expensive. You can find them on the mountain. This is my heartfelt gift."

Looking at Cheng Cai's face, the three of them were also very moved. After all, this child was kind-hearted, hardworking, and able to endure hardship.

Just look at how young he is, raising his younger brother alone; he deserves their admiration. Even their own grandchildren aren't as good as him.

"Thank you, child. We would have starved to death long ago if it weren't for the things you brought us. Once we feel better, we'll go to the mountains to pick wild vegetables ourselves. You're a good child," Hao Licheng said with emotion.

"Have you been to school, Cheng Cai?" Su Jingyu asked.

"No, we lost our parents, and our family was poor. We were lucky to have enough to eat and raise our younger brother. We never went to school," Cheng Cai said dejectedly.

“Child, we’re all old bones, we don’t have much to give you. Just come here to study whenever you finish work. We’ll teach you to read, that’s how we old folks repay you,” Su Jingyu said in a deep voice.

"Grandpa, I never thought about asking you to repay me, but I'm really happy to be able to study. I never thought I would have such a blessing." As she said this, tears welled up in her eyes.

The three men admired the child even more. He was courageous, ambitious, and eager for knowledge. They thought they could die happy if their own grandson was like him.

The two brothers, Cheng Cai and You Cai, had just left their three grandfathers' place when they went up the mountain again to collect firewood, tied it up with rope, and prepared to head home.

"Mom, I got a perfect score on the test today. Are you going to reward me with candy?" Zhu Zi asked Ting Ting happily.

"Tingting said to Zhuzi affectionately, 'Of course, it's the same as always, two: Tiedan and Shitou. What if there are any wrong answers?'"

Tie Dan and Shi Tou stared longingly at Ting Ting.

"Then let's give one to Tiedan and one to Shitou. That's all for today's lesson. Go out and play for a while."

"Great, Mom! I love you the most! Let's go!" The two children followed their older brother and ran out in a flash.

"Hey, don't go too far," Tingting called out to them.

"These three kids ran off before I could even finish my sentence. They're getting wilder and wilder. My daughter is still the best. I love her more and more every time I look at her face."

Zhu Zi and his brothers were running wildly through the village, the three children laughing loudly, their voices carrying far.

Zhu Zi unwrapped the candy Tingting gave him and popped it into his mouth. The children in this village can't go to school now, so they spend more time playing in the afternoon.

Li Dachun's sons, Gou Dan and Fen Dan, saw Zhu Zi and the other two. Since their mother disliked Tingting, the two boys were also influenced and disliked the three of them as well.

"What are you eating? Let me see. Dog Egg just saw this pillar eating candy and asked on purpose."

Zhu Zi remembered what his mother had told him not to show off the candy, so he said to them, "I didn't eat much, and besides, what does it have to do with you?"

"No way, I have to check. If they steal anything from the team, I'll tell the captain." As he said this, Gou Dan was about to grab them.

"What are you doing? Let go!" Although there were three of them, Tie Dan and Fen Dan were older than them, so they were at a disadvantage. In the struggle, Zhu Zi accidentally fell backward into the river.

Dog Egg and Fen Egg were terrified when they saw this. Knowing they had caused trouble, they ran home as fast as they could.
