Chapter 169 Heart Knot

Today, Tingting made braised pork, steamed buns, and sauerkraut soup for the children. Chengcai and Youcai aren't stupid; they know that such good food isn't something everyone can afford.

However, the two children did not intend to ask any more questions. To them, Jianjun and Tingting were their own mother and father.

At first, Tingting and Jianjun were grateful to the child because he saved Zhuzi, but as time went on, they also came to regard the two of them as their own children.

All the children are treated the same. Originally, Tingting wanted these two children to live here permanently, since there are many rooms in the house. However, in the end, these two children said they would stay permanently in the fall and winter.

This house can't be left unattended; if the two children don't stay long, others might covet it.

The children were also taught by Tingting to eat slowly and chew their food properly; it was clear they had received a good education.

After dinner, Cheng Cai and You Cai went to wash the dishes. Zhu Zi saw his older brothers washing the dishes and thought that he couldn't not go either, so he started to help. Under Cheng Cai's guidance, all the children were able to do housework and were very independent.

This is a good example, and the children have all grown up.

"You rascals, hurry up and get dressed and put on your scarves. We're going out to play. Grab your sleds and let's go!"

"Okay, let's go, Mom, we're leaving."

"Be careful, don't run too fast," Tingting said with a smile as she looked at Jianjun with five little ones following behind him.

Cheng Cai thought to himself, if this is a dream, can I never wake up? He looked up at the sky and held back his tears.

Seeing Cheng Cai's silent demeanor, Jianjun understood what the child was thinking.

Without saying anything, he urged them to leave quickly.

When they arrived, Jianjun went down and stepped on the ice several times, finding it to be very solid. He then quickly invited them over to play.

Cheng Cai pulled a few younger children along, running on the ice, while You Cai and Zhu Zi shouted loudly.

Jianjun looked at the child and felt a pang of heartache. The child was so sensible and always thought of others.

"You bunch of brats, get down here right now and go play by yourselves. Look how tired your brother Chengcai is."

The children were all very sensible and went off to play by themselves, while the two younger ones naturally had to be taken care of.

"Chengcai, sit on the sled, Uncle will pull you along, hurry up, don't just stand there like an idiot."

"Uncle, I'm too heavy. I'll take Zhuzi and the others to play instead."

"Listen to me, you sit down, I'll pull you along."

They played until almost dark. Tingting finished cooking dinner, but she was still worried because she hadn't seen the others return.

"Haha, I'm going again tomorrow, I'm hungry, I'm hungry."

We could hear their happy voices as soon as we got into the yard, which woke up the two little ones inside the house.

"Go wash your hands, tidy up and hurry up to eat," Tingting urged.

Cheng Cai's eyes were red, as if he had been crying.

"Jianjun, has Chengcai been crying? Has this child been wronged?"

"No, that's not true. I'll tell you after we finish eating."

After the children had washed their faces, tidied up, and fallen asleep, Jianjun told Tingting about what had happened that day.

“Today I saw that Youcai wasn’t playing, so I pulled Zhuzi and Chengcai down. I made them come down and played with Chengcai for a while. The child was fine at first, but then he started crying.”

“Chengcai is a thoughtful child. Such children need to be guided properly and their self-confidence needs to be built,” Tingting remarked.
