After Tingting and Jianjun finished preparing, they went to greet the three old men.
Several children came to the train station to see them off. This was the first time they had separated from their parents and were beginning to study and take care of themselves independently. Everything had to be done independently.
On the train, Tingting waved goodbye to them. Qiuqiu and Fubao also looked longingly out the window, feeling extremely reluctant to part.
"Mom, when can we see our brothers again? I really want to give them to them. This house has been too quiet lately."
"They'll be back by the New Year. They'll be back before the New Year. Don't worry, you should all study hard. Your parents will come with you to Xia City then."
"At that time, our family will be reunited. As for the rest, Mom and Dad can take care of it. You just need to be happy."
“Jianjun, you know, when we came here the whole family was so happy, with all those kids chattering away, but when we got home, it was just the four of us left.”
"Honey, what are you saying? It's just about going to school, why are you so sad? When they're all married and have their own lives, wouldn't it be better for the two of us to go on a trip together?"
"Children have their own lives and paths to take, and they can't be with you forever. As long as they're happy, we can be happy too."
“You have such an open mind, Jianjun. I should learn from you. Everyone understands this principle, but sometimes I just don’t feel right about it.”
“Wife, you need to think this through. If you want your children to be successful and accomplished, you can’t have them around. How can they develop otherwise?”
"If you want them to be successful and make contributions, then they can't stay with their parents for long periods of time. We parents must understand this and not worry about it."
Tingting nodded; these are things that need to be thought through.
Tingting looked at the scenery flashing by outside the car window, a faint sadness washing over her. Time really flies by too quickly, leaving no time to reminisce.
Seeing that his wife wasn't in a good mood, and with such a long journey ahead, he decided to try and distract her.
"Honey, what are we having for lunch? I'm getting a little hungry."
Jianjun looked at the two children, who immediately understood and quickly said, "Mom, yes, I'm hungry, and Qiuqiu is hungry too."
"Let's eat boxed lunches. I brought these cooked meals, they smell delicious."
The group brought out the food, and having learned from their previous experience, the two children ate very quickly.
Before anyone could even open their mouth to say anything, the family of four had already finished eating, giving no one a chance.
Jianjun, Tingting, and Qiubao Tuantuan felt very happy after eating, but seeing the others staring at them in disbelief, they all burst into laughter, finding it quite amusing.
The laughter and joy washed away Tingting's worries and sadness, and her mood improved.
“Jianjun, you said we should go back and let the kids go to school. We always feel like there’s not enough time. It was like this in the past, it was like this when we were studying and taking exams, and it’s still like this now when we’re working hard to earn money.”
“We have so much to do, there’s definitely not enough time.”
“People always want more and more things; they’re never satisfied,” Jianjun sighed.
This is already too much for them and their children, Chengcai. But many things don't happen because you want to move forward, but because the course of events pushes you forward.
