"Honey, it's so cold today. Let's go up the mountain again. I want to go again. Yesterday was so much fun."
While drinking her porridge, Tingting said that the two of them had millet porridge, pickled cabbage buns, some pickled vegetables, and the duck eggs that were pickled last time for breakfast.
"Jianjun, these pickled vegetables are what we used to buy at the supermarket. Let's pickle some more when we have time."
"Pickling some garlic with sugar, pickled radishes, and pickled mustard greens are all specialties of Northeast China. They're delicious. We'll make them when we're done with this."
"You're always going up the mountain and pickling vegetables, you really can't stay idle."
"This is a great opportunity. These things are so valuable to the children. And the ginseng is all top-quality. Not to mention it will keep you breathing, just holding a hundred-year-old ginseng in your mouth will keep you breathing."
"That's what everyone says, but people with weak constitutions shouldn't eat too much of it, honey. I've heard before that someone ate something that wasn't wild, steamed or boiled it all the time, and the next day he was dead."
"It's that serious? Don't they say it's as nutritious as a radish? I don't know if that's true or not."
"Those are all farmed. If I dare to eat a radish, would he dare to eat a wild ginseng?"
"These are all obvious answers, but there aren't many old wild ginsengs available nowadays, so they're relatively rare, and preservation is also a problem."
Tingting nodded, "I think I'll keep it and not eat it casually. I'll keep it as a family heirloom."
"After we finish eating, let's go up the mountain again. I haven't had enough yet. Going up the mountain is so much fun!"
"I think you've forgotten about the snake from yesterday."
"Okay, let's go again in a bit. We won't go in winter, it's too cold."
Tingting nodded happily, "No problem, I'll just stay home and hibernate from now on."
"Let's go, let's go," Tingting urged Jianjun after feeding the child.
As soon as we reached the outer edge, she asked, "Honey, is this a wild onion?"
"This is not it, it looks very similar, but this one is poisonous, be careful."
"Tingting, look! This is a walnut tree. Take out the bag; there are some to pick."
{Mountains and forests are treasures; we must cherish and protect the environment, as they are gifts from nature.}
The two of them started picking walnuts. There were five trees in total, and they picked enough for six sacks, which they put into their spatial storage. They would peel the walnut shells later when they had time.
"Is that a white lingzhi mushroom on this tree, honey?"
“Yes, I’ll climb the tree,” the two of them said as they began picking and packing the fruit into boxes. Tingting, a little money-grubber, never stopped smiling.
Wild vegetables like bitter sprouts, bracken, and cucumber buds were picked whenever they were seen.
"That was so much fun, honey! I can understand why some people love fishing now. The sense of satisfaction and happiness is something money can't buy."
We walked further in for a long time and saw a tree with many white things growing on it.
"Honey, wild monkey head mushrooms, I'm going to climb the tree, wait for me, I'll go pick them and put them all in the box."
The two of them started working enthusiastically and energetically.
After picking them, we walked further in and saw a lot of wild hazel mushrooms. The stewed chicken must smell so delicious; my mouth is watering.
"Haha, honey, I feel like your eyes are about to light up."
"Hurry up, honey, pick it quickly, I feel so happy, hahaha."
"Stop laughing, honey, you're scaring me," he said, picking the fruit at lightning speed.
"Sit down and have something to eat, honey. I'm feeling a bit tired. We ate four steamed buns and drank some milk together."
Tingting held the pillar, fed the baby, played with the baby for a while, and then prepared to leave.
They had barely left when they saw two pheasants. For the young couple, that was a piece of cake. They also caught two nests of rabbits.
A series of howls came from above. "What the hell is that howling? It doesn't sound like a wild boar. Honey, I think it sounds like a bear. Let's go!"
"They might be chasing us. The two of us went somewhere else, away from this area. We must have trespassed into the black bear's territory."
"These must be matsutake mushrooms, right? They're good stuff! There's so much to see in these mountains!" The two of them started digging for matsutake mushrooms quickly and stuffed them into bags. They filled three bags in total.
"Honey, come quick! It's bursting open! So many Ganoderma lucidum mushrooms, and they don't even have white edges yet. There are 35 in total, and they're all perfectly formed and clean."
"You're so lucky! Luckily we have our own space, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to bring all this stuff down the mountain."
Tingting didn't answer; she just kept picking the fruit, laughing as she did so.
Jianjun was amused to see his wife like this and started helping. After they finished, they drank a bottle of beverage chilled with snow from last winter.
"Ah, this is great! To find so much stuff, plus a drink, I feel so happy, baby."
"Alright, it's getting late. Let's hurry down the mountain. We're going too far in. It'll be dark soon."
"We won't go in a couple of days. Before it snows, we'll make a little cotton-padded jacket for our son. When we get home, we'll pack up what we've found and bring some supplies and meat for our parents."
"Okay, honey, I'll listen to you. Let's go down the mountain. We've had a long day, but it's been tough. We're having a good time."
The two walked and talked, picking whatever they saw, and gathered quite a lot of things. They were so tired that they simply threw everything into their spatial storage.
The two were washing their hands when a wild boar charged towards them. Tingting saw it and immediately took Jianjun to her spatial dimension.
"Honey, grab the weapon! If we hadn't seen this, we would have gotten hurt again."
Jianjun went out and got a chainsaw, which solved the problem. After cleaning up, the two of them quickly went home.
After feeding the baby and finishing my meal, I was so tired that I fell asleep the moment my head hit the pillow.
