"Ah!" Guo Jun woke up on the kang (a heated brick bed) with a terrible headache. The room was only slightly brighter with the moonlight.
Guo Jun subconsciously noticed a person lying next to him. The surrounding environment had completely changed; the bed had become a very hard earthen kang (heated brick bed), and there was an old-fashioned cabinet on the kang.
Guo Jun quickly sat up and shook the person lying next to him awake. "Wake up," Zhang Tingting was shaken awake from her dream.
"What's wrong?" Zhang Tingting was startled awake. Looking at the unfamiliar surroundings, she took a deep breath. Had she traveled through time?
Zhang Tingting didn't recognize the man in front of her, who looked pale and somewhat resembled her young husband.
He hesitated before saying, "Heavenly King covers the Earth Tiger."
Guo Jun, his face beaming with joy, whispered, "One, two, three, four, five."
"Husband!" Zhang Tingting cried tears of joy.
"You scared me! I thought you hadn't traveled with me from here."
Guo Jun hugged Tingting and said, "Don't be afraid, wife, I'm here now. Let's quickly check our identity information."
"Don't let anything slip," Guo Jun thought, as a flood of memories flashed through his mind.
He said to Tingting, "Wife, remember this, my current identity is Guo Jianjun, and I am the third son in the family."
"My father's name is Guo Daniu, my mother's name is Li Dahua, and I have two older brothers and one younger sister."
"The eldest brother's name is Guo Jianguo. He has a wife named Wang Chunhua. They have two sons and a daughter. The eldest son is named Guo Fendou, the second son is named Guo Qinfen, and the daughter is named Guo Yulan."
"My second brother's name is Guo Jianhua. He is married and his wife is named Zhao Xiaomai. They have two daughters. The eldest is named Guo Pandi and the second is named Guo Zhaodi."
“I am the third son, Guo Jianjun, and you are my wife, Zhang Tingting. We were born in an era of food and clothing shortages, and we never had children due to lack of nutrition.”
"My younger sister's name is Guo Meili. She got married not long ago. Her husband is Sun Daguo from the next village."
"The era we live in now is not in the same space as our previous life, but the major events are roughly the same. It is now the 1960s."
"Honey, I've got it. Don't worry. I'll tell you about my situation."
“My name is Zhang Tingting now, it hasn’t changed. My parents both died in the famine and didn’t make it. I’m all alone now. I married into your Guo family so that I could have food to eat.”
"Alas, my parents in my past life favored boys over girls, and I have no parents in this life. I have no affinity with parents at all."
"Wife, you still have me, don't you? This is much better than the apocalypse, and you're still much younger. You've really made a profit."
"Yes," Zhang Tingting nodded and said, "You're right. It's better to live optimistically than to live in a world full of zombies. Even if you have a space, who can guarantee that you'll survive in a world full of zombies?"
"Wife, take a look, are the supplies we stockpiled still there?" Zhang Tingting nodded, silently counting "4 sugar cakes" in her mind. The sugar cakes immediately appeared in her hands. "Help me carry these, I can't hold them all."
"Good, good, good!" Guo Jianjun excitedly said three words in a row.
"Let's eat quickly, or the whole family will wake up and we won't be able to explain it to them."
"Honey, let's not eat too much right now. Take it slow and don't rush. People are always hungry these days, and their intestines are small. If they eat too much, they'll burst. Eat slowly."
Zhang Tingting nodded, tears streaming down her face as she ate. "I've never felt this sugar cake smelled so good before."
The two of them quickly finished eating and drank a lot of water to cleanse their mouths of the lingering smell, so they wouldn't have a way to explain if someone smelled it.
After all, people are currently facing shortages of food and clothing, and are quite sensitive to the consumption of noodles.
