Chapter 132 Lifesaving Grace

The two brothers, Cheng and Cai, were carrying bundles of firewood home when I noticed their argument. Before I could say anything, I saw the pillar fall into the water.

The two brothers put their things down, and Chengcai pulled off the rope that was tied to the two bundles of firewood, tied it to the tree and around his waist, preparing to go and rescue Zhuzi.

Seeing that Tie Dan and Shi Tou were already terrified, he shouted at them, "Go find your parents and come save your brother!"

The two children snapped out of their daze and immediately ran home crying.

Cheng Cai watched the two children run away, and when he saw the pillar in the water, he hesitated for a moment, but still went into the water to save the pillar.

“Youcai, remember this: keep an eye on the rope on the tree. If it comes loose, tie it if you can. If you find that you can’t tie it with your strength, just leave it alone.”

"And if your brother doesn't come up, you're not allowed to come down, understand? You're not allowed to go into the water, get it?"

Youcai quickly gave instructions while getting into the water, and it took less than 2 minutes.

"I understand, brother," he said, his eyes welling up with tears.

But remembering what her brother had said before, that boys shouldn't cry easily and that crying wouldn't solve anything, she didn't want her brother to be disappointed in her, so she held back her tears.

Youcai reached out to grab the pillar in the water, and the pillar went from splashing and shouting to becoming completely still in an instant.

Youcai felt that the water had carried the pillar a bit too far by inertia, and realized that the rope was not long enough. He untied the rope around his waist, grabbed the rope with one hand, and grabbed the pillar with the other.

On the other side, the two children, remembering what their older brother Cai had said, ran home desperately, wanting to find their parents as soon as possible to save their brother. Before they even got there, they encountered Jianjun, who had come to find the children and take them home.

Seeing the two children covered in dirt and with their faces streaked with tears, I knew something had happened.

Before the two children could speak, Jianjun asked anxiously, "Where's your brother? Why is he crying?"

"Father, brother, they've fallen into the water."

Upon hearing this, Jianjun's mind went blank for a moment. He suppressed his panic and ignored the two children running desperately to the riverbank.

As he ran, he thought: He's been in the water for so long, what if something happened to my child? No, no, Zhuzi, you have to wait for your father.

He was filled with endless panic and heart palpitations. The two children behind him were also chasing after their father, but as they ran, they lost sight of him.

When they arrived, they saw Youcai on the shore. Following his gaze, they saw Chengcai desperately pulling on the rope. Jianjun rushed over to pull the rope and pull the two children back, tears streaming down his face as he did so, hoping the children would be alright.

Jianjun used all his strength and quickly pulled the two children up.

Seeing the pillar lying there silently, Jianjun couldn't even cry. He quickly took off all the child's clothes and began chest compressions.

When Jianjun realized the child was still not moving, he panicked and became frightened. He tried various methods and kept trying. After a long time, the child vomited water and began to make faint sounds. Jianjun breathed a sigh of relief.

Carrying the child, she walked home, forgetting even to thank Youcai because she was so nervous and scared. She ran home as fast as she could.

Tie Dan and Shi Tou had just arrived when they saw their father carrying their older brother back home, so exhausted they could barely breathe. They then followed Jian Jun back home.

"Brother, are you alright?" Youcai asked, his eyes red, "Why didn't they even say thank you?"

"Uncle Jianjun, we were too scared and forgot. Let's go home first." Cheng Cai was too weak to do anything but drag the firewood with a rope and pull his younger brother back.

When they got home, Chengcai first drank some water and rested for a while before cooking for his younger brother. Although it was all wild vegetables, the two of them ate with great relish. He would protect his brother until he grew up.

When Tingting saw Jianjun carrying the pillar back, she knew something had happened.

With red eyes, Tingting asked, "What's wrong? What happened to the child? My Zhuzi, wake up!"

The two younger ones also ran back after more than half an hour, and they were also in tears when they saw their older brother's appearance.

"Jianjun, how are the children? Tiedan, Shitou, how did my brother fall into the water?" Tingting asked, crying.

"Mom, it was Fen Dan and Gou Dan. They saw my brother eating candy and tried to steal it from him. We couldn't beat them, and my brother kept backing away and fell into the water," Tie Dan cried.

"Then how did you save your brother?" Tingting asked.

"Oh dear, I was so worried about Zhuzi that I forgot about Chengcai. Our Zhuzi is so grateful to Chengcai and his brother. I haven't even thanked the boy yet. I was just too anxious." Jianjun looked ashamed.

"Yes, yes, such a big thing, how can we repay this child? This child didn't even think about his own safety, he saved our Zhuzi, this is a life-saving grace." Tingting said to herself.
