Chapter 234 Han Jianu
On February 28, Gu Wei and Lu Yang were invited to China Film Group to discuss some of the early preparations for "The Blade of the Assassin 2: Shura Battlefield".
This film is jointly produced by China Film Group, Weiming Tianxia Film and Television, and Free Cool Whale Film.
In terms of investment shares, China Film Group holds 40%, Gu Wei's company Lu Yang's Freedom Cool Whale Films holds 30% each.
The filming crew is composed of the old team of "The Blade of the Assassin", and some staff from Gu Wei's company also joined.
Standing at the door of the China Film Group building, Gu Wei was a little dazed. When he first came here three years ago, he was just a small-time newcomer in the circle, with no fame or works at all.
Now, three years have passed. Not only has he become a top star, but his company has also become a partner of China Film.
"What are you looking at? Come in!"
Lu Yang, who was walking with him, saw Gu Wei stop at the door and said.
Gu Wei smiled and followed his senior brother into the office building without saying anything.
When the staff along the way saw Gu Wei and the others coming, they all greeted them with smiles, appearing very polite.
There wasn't much to do today. Han Sanping mainly discussed with Lu Yang the follow-up film shooting matters. He would be the producer of this film.
Gu Wei, as the leading actor and investor, was also called over.
Before they knew it, it was noon and the three of them had reached an agreement on many things that needed to be dealt with.
At the invitation of Mr. Han, the three of them came to a high-end restaurant near the China Film Academy.
After sitting down and ordering the food, the door of the private room was opened from the outside, and a young woman wearing a white cardigan, with a slim figure and looking to be in her 20s walked in.
She had short hair, fair skin, and a heroic look. After entering the door, she walked straight to Han Sanping and sat down.
"Let me introduce you two, this is my daughter, Han Jianuo.
Lady, you should know these two without me even telling you."
Han Sanping introduced his daughter to Gu Wei and Lu Yang with a smile on his face.
"Director Lu Yang, Gu Wei, nice to meet you. I'm Han Jianu."
Then she stood up and held out her hand to the two of them.
"Hello~"
"Hello~"
Gu Wei and the other man also quickly stood up and shook hands with her respectively.
"Speaking of which, we are all not outsiders. Jia Nu is also from the Film Academy. She is a master's student in the directing department of the 11th grade. She is an alumnus of yours."
Han Sanping said this with pride.
"So it's my junior schoolmate, nice to meet you~"
Lu Yang said.
He graduated from the directing department in 2007, a few years earlier than Han Jianuo.
“When I was in school, I often heard teachers talk about Brother Lu Yang. I never thought I would meet you on this occasion today.
I hope Senior Brother Lu will take good care of me in the future."
"What the hell is that, Junior? It should be Director Han who should take care of us."
After greeting Lu Yang, Han Jianu turned the topic to Gu Wei.
"Gu Wei, actually I knew you in school."
"oh?"
Gu Wei had no impression of Han Jianu. He didn't stay in school for long and rarely returned to school since he started filming in his sophomore year.
"When you first started school, did you always go to the directing department? You were always in some teachers' open classes.
At that time, you, a handsome guy from the acting department, stood out among the students from the directing department. Although we didn't have any verbal communication, your name was still well-known among the students in the directing department."
Han Jianu said with a smile on her face.
"I didn't expect that you, Junior Brother Gu, are so well-known in the directing department of the academy. Teacher Xu never told me about this."
This was also the first time Lu Yang heard of this, and he looked at Gu Wei in surprise.
"What kind of fame? I just attended more classes. No students ever talked to me at the time, and I didn't know I had that kind of fame."
Gu Wei said a little embarrassedly.
"Junior Sister Han, what you said makes a lot of sense. With your looks, you really stand out among all those students in the directing department. It's hard not to notice you!"
Lu Yang said, looking at Gu Wei's face.
"Brother, please stop teasing me."
After meeting Han Jianu, the three of them quickly became familiar with each other. Since they were all alumni, they naturally became closer.
The few of them chatted for a while, and when they talked about work, Lu Yang asked:
"Is Junior Sister currently working at China Film Group?"
Before Han Jianu could reply, Han Sanping on the side opened his mouth:
"My daughter is very disobedient and does many things according to her own temperament. I asked her to come to China Film Group but she refused and wanted to do her own thing outside."
"Dad, I just want to do what I like and don't want to be bound by the system."
Han Jianu said.
"Senior Sister Han, if you have any questions about filming, you can tell me. Although it can't be compared with China Film, I also have a small film and television company under my name. I can help you from the preparation of filming to the later release and promotion."
He always felt that he had heard the name Han Jianu somewhere, but he couldn't remember where it was.
But it doesn't matter. Just based on her identity as Han Sanping's daughter, she is worthy of Gu Wei's winning over.
"Gu Wei's company is not a small film and television company. In the past two years, they have produced and released several popular movies and TV series, and they are also well-known in the industry."
Lu Yang said.
"I know this, I have heard some things about the film and television industry.
Thank you for your kindness, Junior Brother Gu. Although I have studied directing for so many years, I am now more interested in being a screenwriter than a director.
Being able to write something that interests me into a script and finally present it is also a very interesting job."
Han Jianu said.
"Does Senior Sister Han have any works?"
Gu Wei asked casually.
"Um~ I haven't finished writing it yet, but at the beginning of this month I saw a TV show and I had the idea to use it as a prototype. I'm already halfway through writing the script. It's called 'The Road of Life'."
Han Jianu said very honestly.
"What TV show can be used as a prototype for a script?"
Gu Wei asked curiously.
"It's CCTV's 'Today's Statement,' a story about leukemia patient Lu Yong."
Hearing the familiar name, Gu Wei was stunned. Then he remembered that Han Jianu in front of him was the screenwriter of "Dying to Survive" in the original time and space. She was also the strong guarantee for the film to be released normally.
"Sister, is Gleevec now covered by medical insurance?"
Han Jianu perked up when she heard Gu Wei ask this.
"Junior, have you heard about Lu Yong's story? In early February, the Human Resources and Social Security Departments of several provinces issued notices stating that starting from the 1st of next month, drugs for treating chronic myeloid leukemia will be officially included in medical insurance."
"I'm also very interested in this story. If you've finished writing the script, please come and find me. We can discuss how to produce it and bring it to the big screen."
"This kind of realistic film is likely to lose money, and getting it approved by the censors is also a problem."
Han Jianu was worried about Gu Wei instead.
"It's okay, I like this story, the money doesn't matter.
As for the review, doesn't Mr. Han still have help?"
Gu Wei looked at Han Sanping with a smile on his face.
"In fact, you always view the censorship of radio and television as too strict. As long as the values are correct and the direction is correct, it is easy for a movie to pass the censorship."
Mr. Han took a sip of water and said.
The lunch lasted for more than an hour, and Gu Wei spent the whole time talking to Han Jianuo about the script. In the end, they added each other on WeChat and agreed to meet again to discuss the movie after the script was completed.
After dinner, Gu Wei and Lu Yang left China Film Group.
In the office, Han Sanping was sitting behind his desk drinking tea, while Han Jianu was sitting on the sofa in front typing on her cell phone, not knowing to whom she was sending messages.
"What do you think of Gu Wei and Lu Yang?"
Han Sanping said suddenly.
"Ah? They're pretty good. Senior Brother Lu Yang is steady and Gu Wei is generous and enthusiastic. They're both very good."
Han Jianu reacted and said.
"They are both young people I am optimistic about. They are talented, courageous and have bright futures.
You can treat them as friends, as they are connections you can use in the future."
Han Sanping knew that his daughter had chosen the path of the film and television industry, and now began to pave the way for her.
"Got it, Dad~"
